puddings wrote:It's been a few weeks since I was last in the forum, so this may have already been covered: On the yellow SELs recently the date has changed from just a date to "Offer ends on 11/11/06" for example.
The last 3 attempts that I've made (at different stores) to get an r&r on out of date yellow SELs, the CSD assistants first line of defence has been "you have not been charged the wrong price, it says clearly the expiry date for the offer, therefore you have been charged the correct price for today"
At one store when this was happening, a manager was called and the CS girl told the manager that they had received a bulletin stating that in these circumstances the difference only could be refunded at CSD's discretion as a gesture of good will. (The manager by the way said that as he hadn't heard anything about that before, that the full refund policy on the wall behind them should apply) In the end I got a full refund at all three stores but the amount of arguing and stubborness that I had to go through to get it was much much more than before the wording on the yellow SELs changed.
Also... I just wonder if anybody else has had a similar problem to this, I never use my clubcard when in store but do always put the payments onto my debit card and the last 4 times that I have used the debit card in store, the payment has been halted and "Voice authorisation required" has come upon the cashier's display: meaning that I have to go to the CSD every time I want to buy anything so they can get it authorised with the bank.
It's happened at different Tesco stores, and for small amounts. It never happens at Woollies or Asda etc, which leads me to think that it must have been instigated by Tesco. I phoned my bank who said that it was nothing to do with them so it would be either Tesco or Visa?
Any advice appreciated...
didn't happen in any other stores & problem solved by presenting a different card,
my bank also said nothing to do with them0 -
Hi
it has a board beside it saying offer of the week but no price only £13.97 on sel
so as its offer of the week surely it should be £12.xx but there is no price stating that so i cant argue with them about it but why is some stores charging more than others if its on deal of the week it should be the same and a board showing the price
my store is very quick on the ball and i have never had an R&R but i would like to know WHY my store price is different to others as there is no price just the board saying offer of the week0 -

There are two posters listing the dvd charts- they're the ones you need to get the price of £12.97. I agree there should be a poster or label stating £12.97 and probably will be when the offer is updated on the computer system. Sometimes you win, sometimes not. It may be sombody else has already claimed the misprice and that's why you have missed out. The posters are often taken down after an R and R from them.Divorce all finished- now to start saving for a better future!0 -
Hi all, could anyone tell me when you go up to cs for r&r, do you just ask them straight or wait for them to offer, want to try in store near to me but not sure how to go about it.
Thanks0 -

I tend to walk out the store and go back in looking puzzled. I don't prompt for the refund and let the CSA tell me what they are going to do. If they try to offer me the difference I then point out the policy behind them saying that I've just read it.Divorce all finished- now to start saving for a better future!0 -

I'd just go up to cs desk and say i've been overcharged and take it from there.....if they try and offer you the difference i would ask what there policy is for overcharging, and see what they come back with.
don't mention r+r tho......that is the term that we use on this forum....NOT tesco. They've got cars big as bars
They've got rivers of gold
