Tesco misprice discussion area part 13

Saw something rather curious/worrying today whilst getting an R&R on a Xbox PES6 which I was overcharged 1 penny on (it felt really cheeky, but oh well, what the hell...)
The worrying thing was that the price promise blue board which we're so fond of (especially that little paragraph near the bottom) had been taped over and amended so that our favourite paragraph was no longer visible!
I think it had some text relating to clothes purchases instead, taped over the top of it, still in the familiar white text on blue background but definitely an amendment.
Does this represent a move away from the policy, or at least a move away from displaying the policy for all the customers to see ?
The DM was called to my 1p overcharge incident and he asked me what I wanted him to do about it "to make me happy". I informed him that the lad (employee) who had taken me back to the label to verify the price had actually told me that I would now get it for free. As I left the shop, with a freebie game, I could see the DM having a little "chat" with the guy in question.
Perhaps we've seen the golden period of R&R and it's going to get a whole lot harder ?
Or perhaps this store has taken it upon itself to obscure the R&R policy on it's CS board ??0 -

Perhaps your local store will instigate a whole new policy for Mr T
Edit... your other suggestion is more likely ....0 -

It will be store specific, I wouldn't worry about, we all know the policy and even if the board iis missing we can all recall an occasion when we were given a refund and got to keep the product (I usually recall a packet of wotsits or peanuts).0 -
MarineBoy wrote:Thanks leadhead for picking this up. Not sure what you mean by the "manner" of my question. I guess the loaded way that I'm asking the question is to reinforce my opinion that practising r&r is something to be quite proud of actually - although I tend to disagree with 'gloating'.
Yes, I can understand that some people have had a hard time with getting 'banning letters' etc., but to go 'underground' in the face of those threats is surely to play the part of victim, when really we can - and should where possible - remain together in defiance. I know that some might have practical or personal reasons why they want to keep a low profile, but surely generally we should be 'standing tall' in all this - after all that is what makes for a successful complainant in the first place - be it for r&r or otherwise.
Incidentally, I'm still reading... but along the way I have stopped to admire your position as set out in the following post - and it is just the attitude that I was getting at: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3194974&postcount=411 :T
It was possibly the "loaded" way you asked your question that made my response a little aggressive.
It annoys me when relatively newcomers to RandRing who havent had the experience of bans, letters, and agro from Tesco, suggest those that have are paranoid.
Big EditJust realised you have been here since Sept 05.....lack of posts led me to assume you were a relative newbie.....(apologies)
I suggested you go back and read some of the explanations, as to why we say, Dont use a clubcard, always use cash, always give a false name and address, hoping you might read the reasons for doing as we suggest.
Its not paranoia......Weve been there and got the T shirt.....We dont deny, weve brought it on ourselves....and personally I dont moan about it.
I was banned from my first store, because they had security footage of me scanning my console before going through the checkout, I knew I would be charged the wrong price. I got the RandR but collected a ban with it.
I read on here the oher day, that if you know the correct price before you buy it, then the law says you have accepted that price(offer to sell) and therefore have no comeback.....As Tescos cannot prove conclusively that this happens, they give RandR......if they can prove it....they argue against the RandR.
If you "stand tall" all of the time, you make yourself known as "a person who knows the articles he is purchasing are mispriced"....and will therefore face rejection.
I think its far easier on the nerves and more rewarding to have a lesser profile and more higher priced RandRs.
Although the Dude may tell you I wasnt always like this.
RandRing is a long-term process......theres no need to stand up to every wrong decision(although its hard at times not to)......and get youself known to all and sundry.
I realise after your first few successes you want to go hell for leather, well thats ok if theres no confrontation.....but no good if you are remembered in each store.
I used to go at it like the postman.....thats why I commented "each to his own" in support of his tactics.......
As for going underground, I think you'll find we may only be underground untill the next 32" Sony LCD TV or the like comes around again, or in some cases as soon as "the law" or DPA has sorted out our requests.
The post you quote above was in reply to a post suggesting I was a thief, I believe.Couponing....."every little hurts"

And a friendly call to Head Office querying the policy on the blue board should see it returned to the blue board we know and love0 -

Do Tesco share CCTV footage? Broke a few rules on my first R&R and has to fight really hard to get it : had to supply name, address, used a CC for purchase. Only got R&R after getting CS involved - never believed Mr T managers would fight their corner so well to be honest! Of course, at the end of the day, the 10th commandment on their blue board means that they don't have a leg to stand on, so was awarded my R&R.
However, after sticking my head above the parapet, I'm now probably a marked woman/man. Obviosly that branch is now scrubbed from my list, but what about the next nearest, will they have been alerted?0 -

And may I ask the question a lot of us may be thinking........
Have you learn't anything from todays episode.......
If you have, you may have a relatively easy time from now on.....
If not....you may encounter this in every store.
But, congratulations on your "first" anywayCouponing....."every little hurts"
