Does anyone know what Splinter Cell on the 360 goes through at now? I have found SEL's at £37.97 and £37.96, but the last 'result' i've spotted on here is dated the 11th. Are they still going through at £39ish? (no self scan checks in my stores)
thanks!0 -

yep go for it....how can they still be misspricing this game!! im sure they must be putting up "new" labels with same wrong price as my last r&r'ed game had a normal white sel with no "new" written on it0 -

1 - If there are scanners in stores for the use of customers. Why are Tesco now quoting being seen to make use of a scanner as a justifiable reason to not refund an overcharge?
2 - Why are Tesco HO taking the attitude that if you use Tesco's Price Promise on a regular basis, then that singles you out as abusing their system? Surely the onus is on Tesco to get each and every price right on their products and have a rare use of their PP. If the misprices did not exist then this thread and users would go away also. I would like to know how HO can get away with denying a refund on the basis that a customer uses the PP on a regular basis. Should I be wording a similar letter to Mr Leahy?
1 - Scanners are there for when you genuinely don't know the price of something, (eg clothing with price torn off, no sel on shelf etc). If they see you using a scanner and then getting an R&R then it shows premeditation. This results in getting your refund, but often also a store ban. If you need to use a scanner, don't purchase at the same time. Go back later, or use the information for an R&R at another store
2 - Most would agree with you here, which is why many will only go for the larger R&Rs - every visit to CS will make them more familiar with you  . It's also the reason why cash is king and Clubcard is out. Big brother is watching! If you want to be in this game for the long-haul then you need to keep a low profile. Sometimes, this means just walking away with a refund. If you are constantly seen to be finding misprices, Mr T doesn't like it one bit as it is way off 'the norm' and could be construed to show premeditation and prior knowledge. The key is to look like a wronged customer
Just remember that Tesco do not have to let you in their door

Do they know you in there? I thought an overcharge was an overcharge, even if it is only a penny (personally feel a bit uncomfortable with these though)
Did you ring CS in store or afterwards? If afterwards, you could try again and speak to a different person. Never got this far myself, but it seems to work for some people.
Personally, I would take it back to a different store for a refund and put it down to experience. Some people have been banned after refunds where the staff have reacted this way - it's not worth it.0 -
Just for info - the last 2 times I have visited Silverburn store there was a Tesco employee scanning every single game on the shelves one by one and checking them against the sel price. They also do not seem to put up any special offer posters etc. Think they got that one nailed now, maybe because it's their flagship store or maybe because it hasn't been opened long enough for the staff to get lazy.HLK

I wanted ths for a present but happened to check my receipt and didnt add up. Whether its a 1p..10p...£1 or £100...its an over charge.0 -
HL CK S/L Fillets / Smoked Cod / 2x CK Breast Skin On ALL wrong price per Kilo.
I was beginning to get depressed as have not had a refund for about 2 weeks but now I'm back to my old happy self.
I did use my clubcard today but next time I won't. I should have used my debit card or cash but didn't have either with me.
AND... I went to the grumpy CS whom I wrote to Sir T about and rather than shout and argue with me she just quietly got on with it, but I wonder has she ever smiled in her life.0 -
Bookworm63 - Thanks for the reply. But I still have a proper nag in my head about premiditation when using the scanner to confirm a price. Surely it does not matter if they think a customer has prior knowledge as there are signs up around the checkouts and CS desk advising the public of their policy for all the world to see. Now if it was something that was only revealed to customers when they contacted HO because of a misprice, I could perhaps understand them getting shirty with a serial RnRer.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0
