Just flags you up as someone who is aware of the misprice and from their point of view is abusing the policy, how many normal customers buy 3 portable TV's in one transaction?, found the same item tonight and got a refund with a smile and an apology.

I can see it from that point of view, but they shouldn't be trying to question why someone is buying something or suggesting to a customer they did this before or on purpose. I'll just say why pass up on a bargain with Xmas coming up. Will see how it goes, hopefully it'll get refunded tomorrow with no problem. They don't cover themselves from this AFAIK, so I don't think they would have much ammunition to defend it if I got TS involved.

You got to try though, hey :)

What is the policy on number of items you can buy without problems, eg: say if something is popular so they would say only a certain amount per person, I think it is 6?

I've seen signs up in stores that state their bulk buy policy is anything between 1 item (bulk???) and 12 items, however, when ringing head office and complaining about the 1 item bulk buy policy thing (enforced by the witch at copdock) HO told my OH that the company line on this is 10 items.

As far as the 1 item policy is concerned, we were told that it only applies to refunds, meaning if we bought 4 trays of overpriced lamb, we could only get R&R on one tray, the rest of the trays would have to be bought at the wrong (higher/illegal) price.

Hence complaining to HO about it, as yet after multiple calls we still have had no reply, HO are saying its the store that has to deal with it, the store obviously could give a toss about customer service though, which is evident by them employing the world fiercest and most witch-like old bag to work on their CS desk!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Interesting, it would be okay to assume that the number of items that constitutes bulk buy would be the same around all stores. Even if it is not the same, as long as you had resonable belief that it was the same, by getting the figure from a store policy, you could probably use that in support of getting the full refund on that quanity from another store, using the idea that having different policies at different stores is not ethical and there is no justification for it. Different amounts for different products at the same store could be more justified, if the product was popular etc.

With stores open 24 hours, how does r&r work after 10pm when CS is closed?

So, what is it with the paranoia about being identified - not using cards and the like? I personally have no shame attached to pointing out overcharging errors and getting a small bonus for my troubles. It has been said many times that Tesco is the offending party in all this. Let's hold our heads up high!
I suggest you go back a few hundred posts, read all about being identified, about club and credit cards, and if you still dont get it then, come back and ask your question....but try and improve the "manner" of it.
Thanks leadhead for picking this up. Not sure what you mean by the "manner" of my question. I guess the loaded way that I'm asking the question is to reinforce my opinion that practising r&r is something to be quite proud of actually - although I tend to disagree with 'gloating'.

Yes, I can understand that some people have had a hard time with getting 'banning letters' etc., but to go 'underground' in the face of those threats is surely to play the part of victim, when really we can - and should where possible - remain together in defiance. I know that some might have practical or personal reasons why they want to keep a low profile, but surely generally we should be 'standing tall' in all this - after all that is what makes for a successful complainant in the first place - be it for r&r or otherwise.

Incidentally, I'm still reading... but along the way I have stopped to admire your position as set out in the following post - and it is just the attitude that I was getting at: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3194974&postcount=411 :T
    This too, shall pass.
  • I am unfamiliar with the catholic version of trading cards ......How many cardinals for a Pope ? :A

You wouldn't want a Cardinal card, anyway... ;)

(It's the card each Tesco employee is given in order to use the staff canteen, which is run by Eurest! ;) )

    It is store specific.

This usually means it changes with the wind!

A national store should have a national policy available for all customers to read before they purchase.

Not all of them are, some are run by them, some are run by some other lot and some are run by the store themselves

Can anyone please tell me where in the store I would find the Tesco finest Champagne and Truffles sets?

I have looked in the alcohol isle and also the christmas gifts (3 for 2 stuff) and can't find them. I checked 2 different stores.

    Thanks
  • Can anyone explain why certain items scan at different prices in different stores?
