I use a new tempory clubcard so to CS it looks like they have my details but they dont cos it hasnt been registered and so they dont try to make me fill out a new clubcard form. When I do register it I will register it to my dads address using my maiden name and will use the points for deals that dont have a name on them.0

evilwitch wrote:I don't get why you don't use a clubcard. Obviously different people have had experiences that are not good with it but personally I've always used mine and no details have been taken from me or the reciept so how can it be traced back and used to identify me?
I could understand if the reciept number or clubcard number was recorded or even name and address as that is identifying yourself but up to now all thats been written down is the bar code from the misprice and the two differing prices.
I'm probably being dense as anything but can someone please explain how anything is gleaned from the situation as I outlined above?
Well I am like you, except that if I went for a big R&R now (over £100 to me) I would probably not use my clubcard.
That's because there's a possibility you may have to argue it with Dundee HO and it may be best to use a similar name but a non-Tesco-buying relative's address (if they agree). If HO then agree the refund and want to send you a cheque, the similar name will mean you could pay it in!
I have R&R'd one thing over £100, a console and game, but I used my Clubcard without a second thought and the R&R was handed over at the store without a whimper. But I think I was lucky there.
I still use my clubcard for all small purchases and R&Rs, as I have only ever had my receipt photocopied ONCE, and (like you say) apart from that one time they have only taken down the product barcode and amount (definitely nothing from the receipt except occasionally the cashier number, only that). I have NEVER had to give my name and address for a refund or handed over my CC.
My purchase history is very available to Mr T through my clubcard. I don't believe that my refund history is, save only the one photocopied receipt. I may be wrong though....PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Plushchris wrote:I dont mean to sound selfish here but I dont think I'm going to bother posting my finds on the misprice thread anymore for 2 reasons..
1, That list that was made yesterday (and this isnt a dig at the OP, I actually thought it was quite helpful as it saved me doing my own, which is what I usually do) EVERY item was correct/sorted in EVERY store I went in yesterday (6 in total) may be a coincidence but I dont wanna be helping Tescos find misprices!
2, And this is the most annoying one for me, The post I made on there last night detailing the phones I got on R&R was deleted! !!!!!! is the point of having a misprice thread if some donut deletes the misprices off of it? Even if they had been previously posted, surely people find it helpful to know it was more than just a one off? I know I do!
Rant over.
Good point, I saw the light to late(feel bad now)
How about this thought I had
when this thread was closed a while back some of us registered on another site run by laura marshall (a poster on this site).
She welcomed anyone to use her forum for the tesco threads and made a thread so we could post mis-prices and another thread so we could discuss.
Best thing about that site is that you have to be registered to post/look at the forum, unlike this site whereas you don't need to be registered.
I know the idea of posting on this other forum could aslo be seen by tesco but they would have to register, so may not get as many hits from tesco beady eyes than an open forum would.
Thoughts anyone?
just found the link should i post it on here or not? don't want to make any other mistakes... PM me if you want itThey've got cars big as bars
They've got rivers of gold

The long & short of the shall I /shant I use the clubcard when r&r ing is down to personal preference.
Personally I dont as I DO NOT want tesco to see what Ive been up to & i dont really want a banning letter finding its way to me0 -
I have always been asked for my name and address. I usually pay by CC and the refund has always been credited in this way. I have never to date had a large R&R although was very tempted by the console and game a few months ago as two local stores had the signs up but I didnt have the bottle.:j0

Sopplayer, that sounds like a great idea, but what's to stop MrT pming you for the link to the site and then registering? They can be quite sneaky by all accounts!0
