Oh, and the Tesco staff who ignore the company's stated policy of R&R by offering only the difference, when they know full well the company's official line, are being honest are they?

At worst people here are legally taking advantage of illegal overcharging.

Whereas by overcharging and not complying with corporate policy, my opinion is that Tesco are breaking Trading Standards Law.

So if you are that concerned about morals then get off your high horse and start personally making more efforts to stop the overcharging in the first place.

As I said previously, if Tesco really wanted to they could eradicate 99% of the misprices. For instance, John Lewis have a bonus scheme to incentivise staff to report undersales. That is because they WANT to be never knowingly undersold.

It seems to me that Tesco do not care about eradicating overcharing badly enough to follow that kind of incentivisation example. Why should they, when the current situation is not unprofitable ...?

Freeloader. Touched a nerve have I?

Thanks for the 'personal' advice but you have no idea what I or my department does nor who I am (or who anybody on here is for that matter).
You're thanking the wrong person, do thank Clasics though :kisses3: after all, it was he who gave us the thumbs up to monitor those less than genuine customers who flocked to said TV and proceeded to do a LOT of checking. Thanks, we now have a lot of footage.

    Very little helps :naughty::naughty:

    QUOTE]

Not at all. And actually I have not to-date taken advantage of R&R, nor have I tried.

I have had too many false promises by Tesco, for example of bonus clubcard points that conveniently get lost in the system. It is only because of this that I am considering R&R as a means of restoring my significant losses as the customer service / trading standards route is too tortuous.

    Perhaps.

I would hasten a guess though, that they have been burned after having their covers blown.

If you dangle a carrot, there sure are some who will go for the bite.

    Who were they?

The store staff are human, and we all make mistakes. Nobodys perfect.

Plans are afoot to put a stop to this difference between shelf edge labels and pack prices, stickers and weight. They will all soon be replaced by digitalised displays. Not long before due in my opinion.

Totally agree, gt568. I would suggest that people ignore the trolls - even those who claim to work for Tesco and accidentally post previously unmentioned information about a mispriced tv on a forum with a registered membership of 124,746 (not counting the thousands of non-registered readers).

No, no, no you have it wrong.

It was INTENTIONALLY POSTED about a mispriced TV..tactical move, which proved phenomally worth it. (which was nipped in the bud after 306NOTOUT first mentioned to you that he had noticed and gotten a refund).

Wow, this thread isn't even a day old and already we have the first signs of disharmony.

For the new arrivals, including r&r'ers, curious onlookers and tesco.employees, may I say welcome and chill dudes - no, not you Dude, you're chilled enough already.

Welcome that is as long as your intentions are honest and true.

The sole purpose of this thread is to discuss Tesco's policy of how they deal with mispricing, overcharging, inability to match SELs and till prices, special offers that don't work, expired SEL's being left on shelves etc etc.

It isn't a thread about the morals/ethics of looking for overcharges, that's covered elsewhere in the Arms.

It has to be said that the Thread has skated on very thin ice in the past and has been closed temporarily several times. This has normally been due to personality clashes and personal attacks so they should be avoided if possible.

The advice given by several employees has proven welcome and costructive to lots of us, particularly that given by costantine and spa2k. Others seem to feel it is their duty to defend Sir Terry to the end.

But above all this is a thread where every little helps. Information and help that is.

sorry-end of sermon, don't want to see this thread go the shape of the pear too.

    Oh I know I shouldn't but I can't resist.

I thought you said you hadn't posted the TV misprice?

If this was a Tesco ploy to catch r&r'ers may I suggest you pm with any further ploys regarding LCD TV's, sat navs, mobile phones, cameras etc.

OH asks you and Sir T to consider a ploy invoving Sony KDL46X2000 46" HD LCD TV or a decent laptop, failing that how about a few bottles of stella.

Feel free to pm me with any more cunning plans.

Amishi, we've heard it all before. You're like a broken record.

There have been a whole string of angry and indignant blusters on this thread from Tesco employees like yourself. We all know that your company's been shafted good and proper by professional R+Rers and you personally feel bitter about it. Your powerlessness in the matter is a source of great frustration to you so you've come on here to spread a bit of paranoia by churning out the old chestnuts... "we're on your case" etc etc. Heard it all before, mate. Got the T-shirt. We're still enjoying our R+Ring more than ever before.

If you have specific evidence to back up your claims of authority and power, let's see it. Otherwise you're just making yourself sound silly and nobody on here is going to take you seriously.
