How about this thought I had
when this thread was closed a while back some of us registered on another site run by laura marshall (a poster on this site).
She welcomed anyone to use her forum for the tesco threads and made a thread so we could post mis-prices and another thread so we could discuss.
Best thing about that site is that you have to be registered to post/look at the forum, unlike this site whereas you don't need to be registered.
I know the idea of posting on this other forum could aslo be seen by tesco but they would have to register, so may not get as many hits from tesco beady eyes than an open forum would.
Thoughts anyone?
just found the link should i post it on here or not? don't want to make any other mistakes... PM me if you want it
please bear with me...I'm getting through the pm's as quick as i can...have to wait 60seconds between each one
Hope laura can cope with the demand :TThey've got cars big as bars

evilwitch wrote:I don't get why you don't use a clubcard. Obviously different people have had experiences that are not good with it but personally I've always used mine and no details have been taken from me or the reciept so how can it be traced back and used to identify me?
I could understand if the reciept number or clubcard number was recorded or even name and address as that is identifying yourself but up to now all thats been written down is the bar code from the misprice and the two differing prices.
I'm probably being dense as anything but can someone please explain how anything is gleaned from the situation as I outlined above?
The clubcard is there as a means for the comapny to gleen informations to what you buy, when you buy, how often, how much, etc, etc. They pay you an insignificant amount of rebate for this priveledge. This information can be used for a number of purposes, but it can be used to get a picture of your habits, they can then either use this information to promote their own products to you or sell them to third parties for who this information would be very useful.
By not using the card when making R&R purchases, you are not flagging yourself up to them as an abuser of their policies, so therefore keeping you a low risk shopper, and an unlikely candidate for a ban.
Come on think about it the card is big brother on a small scale, but it is still big brother.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -

Maybe for a period of two weeks R&R folk should report each and every misprice to Trading Standards instead?
Nothing to question about the ethics of that and Mr T will soon be begging everyone to go back to R&R'ing instead of condemning the practice!0 -

Yes this is exactly what I suggested a while ago after everyone abandoned Laura's site because another thread was started here.... I got some rude replies from people on here about it and I was only trying to help:mad:0 -
I had an interesting experience this afternoon courtesy of Mr T and wonder what other people would have done. I found a Sony K510i mobile with an out of date reduced SEL of £71.99 charged £79.99 (this by the way was spotted by the checkout assistant who didn't say a word to me!) and also found a PSP giga pack plus two games with an expired SEL of 2x/09 for £219.xx.
The PSP box wouldn't scan and typing in the number wouldn't work either. Checkout supervisor promptly called over to help and vanishes with the box. Ten minutes later the checkout assistant decides to go get the mobile herself so she can go in the office and see what is happening. She comes back to tell me they are just putting all the bits together. The checkout supervisor then returns with a newly printed SEL for £209.99 and asks if I am happy with that price. Of course I had to accept it as it was lower than what I had supposedly been prepared to pay.
Then went over to the customer services to pick up the box with my PSP and told the supervisor I had been overcharged on my phone. "right well what we'll do is refund the £79.99 and then charge the £71.99" I just replied "no" and pointed out that the policy just says I get a refund and get to keep the product and doesn't say anything about me then being charged the correct price.
Result : One phone refunded and one PSP giga pack waiting to go back to Mr T for a refund as I can't afford it at this moment.0 -
If I remember rightly it used to be Tesco's Policy to either refund double the difference or double the misprice and let you retain the item.
Tesco's then changed their policy to the current R&R and could no doubt change it again tomorrow if they wanted to. This would clearly be a whole lot easier than employing Amishi and his team trying to compile details on the countless customers who are R&Ring. (Redundancy looms, perhaps).
Having read all of Amishi's posts, the clear message that he is sending to all R&Rers is, "If you don't want to be identified by his team as a regular R&Rer, then don't use your clubcard".
Perhaps Amishi could also tell us just why it is that Tesco's don't just scrap the R&R policy and just refund the difference like other supermarkets do?IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j0 -
Picked up some chicken breasts this morning mispriced £9.44KG when SEL was £9.34KG. Took a while to explain what I was getting at with the CS lady, but she was very pleasant and chatty and said it had been complete chaos, this morning with returns and refunds everywhere.
I assume that is what was being refered earlier in the thread as the BOGOF, mixup.
From what the CS lady said they and many stores would be seriously down on profits today, but she commented on the fact that most were happy with the restored buy one get on free offer, and didn't push the all free.
I find the more chatty you are with the CS's the more pleasant they are and sometimes you gleen a useful bit of info.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Do you get the mobiles at the customer service tills? and do you tell them as soon as you get the phone that they have overcharged you? I'm asking because i'm going to try another store tonight and i'm starting to bottle it again!!!0
