New to this site, and have been reading this thread with interest!
- went to Tescos Hatfield today as a result and picked up £20 free meat (pork shoulder ,beef topside and turkey breast) and dove moisturiser 2 for 1.
The CS assistant told me I could only claim the price difference back but I requested that she speak to the manager - she did and R&R'd all (although moodily!)
Questions: How often do you revisit the same branch? Do you get recognised by CS staff and how do you approach this? How many items would you try and R&R per visit?
Thanks0 -

I took this to mean they have some kind of face recognision and can then link it to you clubcard when you use it in another store. So if that store has linked me as a problem to my clubcard, as soon as I use my CC in another store it alerts the security staff!!!
You have assumed what was meant without knowing the reality of it. Your assumptions are incorrect.
Facial recognition systems are in their infancy and are rather expensive. To use them for this would be totally unrealistic.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

i go to the same branch of tescos maybe once or twice a week. i only r&r once a fortnight at most though on little things not worth much. i don't get recognised (mine locals are both huge extras) and i'm always polite confused sounding and a little disappointed really. i would only r&r once a visit, maybe twice. and usually only about 10- 20% of my total shopping in that trip anyways. i also only r&r stuff i would normally buy or would really like to have.
although im not chasing the xbox thing, i am still writing to TS and encourage others to do the same. i am writing about quite a small overcharge (which has never been rectified) but the princple is shocking. if it is not corrected when you get r&r just think of how many people are getting ripped off without knowiing it!:A Boots Tart :A0 -

The bold is something I've come to expect from Tescos
I'm just going on the impression I got from what was said.
If I use my clubcard at another store, how else are they going to know who to look for?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Leadhead, that post is over a week old and I have toned down.
By all means report it to abuse and if it gets deleted then we will both know where the line is, but unless you test you won't find out.
I have got over it but thanks for reminding me, I still have the picks on my phone
Chill out dude.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

What i was / am trying to get across is that you have posted something that is likely to whip up hysteria / paranoia when that something is not correct. You have been on here long enough to know that people jump at the slightest thing and posting that tesco have facial recognition that is linked to your clubcard and detectable in each store is no where near the truth.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

hi people im new to this excellent site:beer: .
just thought id say i work for tesco for my sins and after discovering your thread and buying an xbox pro bundle last week i finally went in to get my first r&r on it.
this is where my problems began:mad: i went up to customer services and told them id been overcharged on my xbox and she tried to make her excuses and quickly scarperd of to get managment. 20 mins later he turns up saying you guessed it that i was entitled to my £2 difference i then say NO im not happy with that as your price promise states a full refund and the product heres the good bit.
"sir if you were a customer i would have given you a full refund as you are STAFF to tescos you are not entitled to the price promise so therefore its the £2 or nothing" i take the nothing and he says to go back to my own store(we dont sell xbox's there) and ask my store manager that he is correct staff dont get the price promise.
so i go back to my store 8 miles away and am faced with all managers of store and tell them what has happened they then tell me this is UNTRUE and i am a customer just like anyone else and to get back up there and demand my refund and not only that my petrol expenses too:D .
so i go back up there and someone else comes out (the d**k before has gone home ) i tell him what has happened he tells me he'll go sort it out. 25 mins later he comes back no we wont offer you any refund go back to your store and we'll get in touch there when your back at work  i walk off.
i am now extremely angry but not showing it and decide no im taking that and demand to see the head of the store (by this point im thinking ive lost my job for sure :rotfl: ) they both come out another 20 + mins later and tell me that because it wasnt an overcharge they wont give me any kind of refund and yes they accept that they lied about the saving i made (still had the hex stand up but a piece of white paper stuck over the pics and price) i ask why did i get offered a refund of £2 before then? "oh i cant comment on that as it wasnt me and hes gone home!). basically now they are accepting they lied and that has nothing to do with there price promise and told me to get in touch with trading standards. am now at home waiting for the morning to ring up H/O and tell em that apparently i didnt qualify for the refund cos i work my !!! off for them and that i got offered £2 as a good will gesture as i wasnt a normal customer.
sheesh that was an essay anyway guess im part of ur r&r club now peeps defo be looking for some heads up for ya wish me luck laterz :beer:0 -

Well I dont know that for sure do I?
Anyway, regardless of the facial recognition, tying up the clubcard to the security system in that way ISNT what the clubcard is there for is it?
I'm sure most people signing up for clubcard are not aware that it can be used to alert security guards at other stores as to if you have had a refund in another store!
And for that matter, why are security guards allowed to review what I've bought on my clubcard??Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

did you go in wearing uniform :rotfl:
seriously - how did they know you worked for tescos?coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -

I'm pleased you got a good result - I really am.
But the above information given to you regarding CCTV being linked to Clubcards is complete tosh - 100 percent turd-tosh-balls - I think they were trying to scare you.
