alanalipkin wrote:In this you have to understand why this policy exists in America, out there if you get caught overpricing you get charged $100 per item by weights and measures, if you have the equivalent 'if things don't add up policy' they halve that fine to $50. So therefore the policy out there is not for the customers benefit but to save their own a***s.
Alana, are you now living in the UK or joining in from across the pond?
I understand from previous posts on this forum that UK fines on overpricing are substantially higher than in the US (£1K+) but not sure if it is reduced by offering this Price Promice - wouldn't surprise me if this is the case here too.
Great to have you on board, but I hope you're not on my patch or I'll have no chance of any R&Rs :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Sorry UserName - he does.
Think it through - anyone who bought the XBOX paid the advertised price - only the pre-meditated R&Rer has gone back to Kevin when they have 'realised' that they only saved £17.97.
During the last XBOX polava when the £20 saving was coming off Head Office found it very difficult to seperate the R&Rer from a 'normal' customer.
Perhaps we can agree to disagree...take her easy Dude,

I think this afternoon is a lot like the senate elections back home, the outcome is more important than the sum of the parts.
Plushchris has gone to see the store manager where he was banned, if he gets off and can continue shopping open season for all serial r&rers at Tescos, no holds barred.
If however, his ban is upheld, there is a presidence to all, I hope the outcome goes in all our favours. As my sig, seems to be offending some. I have removed it, god bless you mr T.0 -
Hi all,
Recently read about the mobile phones being a good option, especially the possible discounted ones - K7,6111,Pebble
Anyway I bought a phone at my local today (Nokia 6111) and the checkout operator was not allowed to proced but had to call a supervisor to handle the transaction, apparently due to a lot of pricing errors.
Store was Stockton Extra.
Also when I returned it to another store they only gave me the money paid, ie didn't stuff up with refunding the discounted £20.
Better luck next time:mad:0 -

Well all the way from Crawley West Sussex, here is their Hex stand... with the full savings displayed...
however the Pro Evo Game is advertised at £39.97 and has been since the beginning of the week, as we know and my other pictures prove this was not the case in all stores.
I got a misprice on splinter cell on one of these stands I was pleased as the main games stand was all correct0 -
Could someone please explain if they can what the numbers on a product bar codes tell you :TThey've got cars big as bars

From that point you have 2 days to hit as many stores as possible.
In the meantime visit your usual stores for titbits!

The barcodes are different for different products...a barcode on atesco label looks something like this
051022236-0001/123456789012/01
The first part ending in 22236-0001 is the Tesco product number and no information regarding R&R can be gleaned for this. The number ending 012 is the EAN (european article number) and is product specific. On variable weight items the numbers in the "901" positions will indicate the price that you will be charged at the checkout. The final two digits "01" are the label version number. The higher the version number the later the label so the highest version number (if more than 1 label is displayed) is generally the price that you will be charged.
