  • :rotfl: Ha, ha...I don't think even Frequent would go there!!
    (Sorry hun)....
  • That's criminal, too....same legislation applies (giving misleading price indications contrary to the CPA). It doesn't matter if the SEL shows a higher price or a lower price, the fact that the price is incorrect and, therefore, misleading, means the store is breaking the law. Giving no price indication is against the Price Marking Order, so they can't get around it by failing to put up any SELs.

Yes that is my understand too... what they are hoping for is that you will ask, rather than buying.

Remember if you do buy... and at the higher price you can still claim a completely legitimate refund as long as the goods are in a saleable condition (this is part of their customer promise too).

That's really interesting - everyone on here should read it. Really funny to hear about exactly the same thing happening on the other side of the Atlantic!

Especially this bit: Howard Friedman , a Boston civil rights lawyer, said retailers are entitled to bar customers from their stores, particularly if the customer is being disruptive, but he said there might be a public policy issue if a store used the trespass laws to exclude someone who was merely exercising his or her rights.

Ah, but you have got to remember that US Law (laws differ from state to state, for example) is not the same as English Law. Scottish jurisprudence isn't the same as English Law, either... ;)

It would seem that my local Tescos: Cannock, Brownhills, Lichfield and New Oscott Extra all have a new way of dealing with the xbox game misprices....

They either display all games with a £39.99 (within a few pence) SEL or they just remove the games from the shelves entirely by hiding them in the trays below the shelves

Lego Star Wars, Just Cause, Splinter Cell all removed form 3 of the 4 stores

So if you buy a game form any of these stores then you might pay less than the SEL but never more so no R&R's at all

    Still not had a single R&R :(:(:(

Also a new poster has gone up with FEAR as the new XBOX game of the week at £37.97 but theres none on the shelves and looking in its chart position the SEL has been removed and a different game put in its place

Sorry mate, looks like we shop at the same stores. ;) Except Lichfield!!!
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

    I know what you mean!

But if you have ever played Dead rising on the Xbox360 you will know that putting a bucket or a traffic cone on a zombies head and watching them bumbling around walking into things and falling over before hitting them with a giant teddy bear is one of the funniest things you will ever see!*

    *May not be true
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
