I urge all of you that have received shoddy treatment from TESCO to go down the route of reporting this to Trading Standards immediately. I am from Cornwall (Truro) and do remember when TESCO got slapped for miselling bottle of wine !!. This time TESCO do know they are in the wrong and are trying to squirm out of there error, which in fact they have made it worse for themselves.
1) False advertising (which the ASA are more that interested to listen to you)
2) Misleading pricing (which Trading Standards (TS) are more that intersted in listing to you.
3) Customer services experience which has been duely noted on this board has been horendous, by a certain person in Scotland (who I will remain nameless) treating customers unfairly, in a bullying tone of voice.
4) No R&R or no overprice, so why did TESCO :-
i) Offer myself a refund of £2.00
ii) Remove all display boxes, POS advertising Pro Evolution Six @ £36:xx
iii) Say there were no further bundles in store (when in fact they have withdrawn them from sale due to error, and it states they are sold out online, oh really.
iv) Now put the price of the game upto £39.xx
Now who is at fault, us or them. I will let you make your own minds up, but if I was you report them, with enough evidence and the amount of complaints against TESCO they will be in the dock again
Every little helps - In this case boosting TESCOS 1 billion pound profit.MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Dude, I've got to disagree with you on this. TS is very interested in the falsely advertised saving Tesco displayed and the time it took Tesco to rectify it. If you get a nice TS officer, they will also put pressure on Tesco to honour the policy and refund the customer. Most of the time, however, they will investigate Tesco and take action if necessary. I would say it's well worth a complaint to TS, as this particular issue is worse than your normal, run of the mill misprice. It's blatant false advertising which Tesco became aware of pretty quickly, yet did not act fast enough to resolve. I don't think Tesco can claim a defence of "Due Diligence" on this one. The more people who report Tesco for the Xbox 360 misleading savings advert, the more likely TS is to follow through and actually take Tesco to court for it.

Some time ago, I complained to TS about one of my locals. TS sent an officer to the store to investigate. This lead to massive back-tracking from the manager, who apologised profusely. TS told him that they would be paying him regular visits over the next few months. The TS who dealt with it kept me informed the whole time.0 -
I emailed Trading standards regarding the overcharging and banning I got from my local store and got a reply saying they no longer deal with it and to contact consumer direct (whos website says to contact trading standards  ) I have emailed CD and as yet had no reply!

PlushChris, check your local council, the trading standards office is usually part of them they will be able to give you contact details, phone them up.
I now have an email address of someone at TS and I just email them with my findings. I told them about the Tekken/PSP offer (but as it is in favour of the customer they are not bothered) and the xbox offer. ohh and a few ones in the past0 -

Plushchris - Just to let you know that Consumer Direct take your initial call now and pass the information to TS. You don't get to speak with TS unless they contact you. So give your contact no. another call to inform them of your complaint in full. They will give you a case number and it happens from there. Consumer Direct are a government body and are set up as regional call centres. This was the exact route I went and I have got an investigation happening at present. I hope this helps.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Does it have to be my local office or the one local to the store? or doesnt it matter?
I think they would be in two areas.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
