Hello! I was wondering if anybody could offer some advice. I have some frozen turkey meat left over from xmas in my freezer. Is this still ok to defrost and eat?
And if it is!
Does anybody have any ideas for what I could do with it? I probably have enough for about 4 meals I think.
Would be such a shame to see it go to waste! Its got pushed to the bag of the freezer and forgotten...
I've nearly run out of food shopping money and need to make the most of what I have without buying lots of new ingredients. Store cupboard is quite well stocked but lacking in fresh veg etc
Thanks

Hi Finding happiness
I adore Jamies turkey and leek pie, but I suspect you may not have 2 kilo of leeks lying around.... :rotfl:You could possibly play with the recipe?
In addition to the leftover thread Penny linked to, there is also turkey soup and turkey leg recipes
I'll add this to the food safety thread later on - do let us know how you get on
Thanks

I used some of our left over turkey yesterday. DS 2 doesn't like quiche and as that's what the rest of us were having, I took out some of the turkey from the freezer, popped it in a bowl with some plain yoghurt and about a teaspoon of mild curry powder and gave it a good mix. Then I put it into a flan case and cooked that. He said it was quite nice, but could have done with a bit more flavour, so next time I'll probably add some more spices.
I've still got enough turkey meat to make a pie or a curry.0 -
