I do a version without sauce

fry cubed/chopped smoked bacon & sliced mushrooms in butter/marg (little oil to stop it burning) with some garlic while pasta -any kind - cooks
strain pasta & if not much liquid has cooked out of the mushrooms add another knob butter/marg then toss it all together - divine
my dad uses onion cos he doesnt like garlic since I taught him this one
I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know

It was only after reading Becles recipe on the board that I tried home made spaghetti carbonara for the first time.....it's fabulous and has become a firm favourite here. Thanks Becles :T

Instead of the egg and cream, I use low fat cream cheese (the one with with herbs and garlic) and white wine to make a sauce.

We are having this pasta for our tea tomorrow night.

We barbequed some peppers, bacon and mushrooms tonight, so will add them to the pasta sauce.

I make a mean tomato sauce using my kenwood and slow cooker.
Throw into the kenwood a cored apple, a quartered onions, some roughly chopped carrot, 2 cloves of garlic anda tin of tomatoes. Whizz until everything is finely chopped. Put into slow cooker with a tbsp of tomato paste. heaped tsp sugar and a cup of stock. put on low and it'll be ready by the time you get home.

I've merged it for you QL. My quick pasta sauce is easy and tasty and can just be left while the pasta is cooking. Post 3
