A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Yes. But because it contains yeast, the yeast may be past it's best and therefore will no longer work in making the flour to rise.
But it won't harm you. Why not try it. You can always make it up and if it does rise then you can either use it immediately or freeze it for later use.0 -

Thanks. I was thinking about making some kind of cheesy straw kinds things out of it so hopefully shouldn't matter if the yeast is not so yeasty..0 -
Cheesy things will be fine, as you say it doesn't matter whether they rise or not!
If you have any dried yeast in store, then you could add it to the mix if you do want it to rise.
I keep dried yeast in my freezer. Then I can just add it directly to the strong flour for my pizza dough.0 -
I hate chucking stuff out. Always do the smell test. There is vegetable oil in the mix so it might have gone rancid. I wouldn't cook it with anything especially expensive cheese just make a plain flatbread. Taste it if it's fine then put the toppings on.
I just bought two loaves of bread for 5p each. Yellow stickers. Had a few slices from the first loaf tasted awful so chucked the slices out then tried the other loaf too and it was the same. It weren't the bread that was bad it was my margarine that had gone rancid. Yukkk..but I'm still OK. It's best before date was only March 2011 so I would never have expected it and it was in the fridge most of the time.
Still safe though just not at it's best.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
