Ok sorry, could 1 of the moderator re-direct this thread please as I don't know how. & I don't usually post a thread. I am more of a reader than a poster. Thought I could help but looks like it is backfired.
Dont be disheartend it can be daunting to post on here sometimes. I love new recipes though and would love a recipe section(although someone will prob say there is one now;))

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Hi, manda  There's a huuuuuuuuuuuge recipe section - it's called the Old Style Board ;)

I'll add this thread to the main pasta sauce thread later.

We always make our own sauce. Tesco value tinned tomatoes are only 21p and the only difference I can see with these and more expensive brands is that you need to open them with a tin opener. Also tomato puree is cheap and lasts ages. With the stock cube, we found stock cubes with mixed herbs in them that go down well.
The main reason we started making our own is so we know how much salt is going into the sauce. Better for the kids!!!!

Hi,

Does anybody have a tried and tested recipe for tomato and pepper pasta sauce. I have a Kg of yellow cherry tomato's that are past their best to use up.

I was thinking of putting them in a baking tray with a few yellow peppers, garlic, onion and salt. Roasting gently then blitzing in the blender with maybe a bit of sugar. Does this sound about right ?
