Nibe Fighter 360p ashp costing me loads to run

How much is this costing for people now? Switched mine to Summer mode and it's using peanuts!

Going to experiment with the "Night Coolness" function over the next few days. From what I can understand when the house is warmer than the outside temperature it will force the fan speed to Speed II (I'm guessing) to remove the excess heat. The house heats up over the day and retains it and at night when the temperature falls quickly, the house continues to retain the heat as the house is heavily insulated. Well that's my understanding of it anyway.

These are the default settings:

8.5.0 Night coolness
8.5.1 Night coolness Off
8.5.2 Start temp. coolness 25°c (At what temperature on the exhaust air sensor (92) should night cooling start.)
8.5.3 Min. diff. coolness 6°c (The minimum difference between the exhaust air temperature and the outdoor air temperature for night cooling to be activated is chosen here.)
8.5.4 Return

Currently the exhaust air sensor is reading 29.3°c and the outdoor probe is reading 27.2°c. So on the default settings the outdoor temperature would have to fall to 23.3°c for the forced fan speed to be activated. Seems like a big difference. Maybe I should half the difference 3°c? Can anyone who's more techincially minded in this stuff advise? Tar!

Well just a update regarding out situation regarding our Nibe unit the Nibe is still using high amounts of electricity and also I had another meeting with Melin homes at their office where we was again accused of messing with the Nibe causing high energy consumption at this point of the meeting I had to walk out due to being accused of this and due to being spoken down to Melin homes just do not like it that we reported them to environmental health due to the noise of the nibe affecting my hearing disability which Melin have chosen to ignore until we contacted environmental health and now that environmental health are involved they do not like it ,

Also had the Melin anti-social behaviour team out to our home today and they were as much use as a wet paper bag,
Melin homes are a joke,

Good advise i have ask melin home to move us but they will not last week i spoke Denise Cook at melin she lied to us and said they have no empty homes so they can not move us but whats this http://www.torfaenhomeseeker.org.uk/Data/ASPPages/1/44.aspx?PropertyID=2212 a 3 bedroom melin homes house just down the road from us they could easy move us in to this but they would rather lie to us plus i know of a few other melin properties sitting empty but they would rather mess us about also spoke to her boss and also lied to regarding housing Melin are beyond a joke now, All they would have to do is give us the keys and i would be off their case what a joke,

Why are you with Melin? Can't you rent from someone else?

I own my property so had to borrow and extra £40k to be able to move - is this an option for you?

Looks like we will have to as Melin homes do not care I had their anti-social behaviour team here yesterday which was a waste of time and what did we have this morning more anti-social behaviour problems from my neighbour again,


Also another thing that is a joke is Melin are also saying that the high energy consumption is due to us being on a low income and that we cannot manage bills I am not happy about this and this is discrimination and they are trying to use this as a excuse to get out of the situation this is beyond a joke it does not matter if someone is on a low or high income the Nibe still consumes high amounts of electricity, If needed I will post copies of the letter they have sent me to prove this on this forum.

well using 10 units a day now with my nibe fighter. Noise still getting on my nerves, dont know if its because im in a wooden frame house and its somehow exagerating the noise, a bit like the house is acting as some kind of vacumn, but all i hear is a constant humming, and i know its not my ears as housing association made me have a hearing test, and i cant hear the humming anywhere else, and i can feel it when im laying in bed.i thought this house was going to be really cheap to run , which is the reason i moved from a 4 bed house round the corner, to this brand new 2 bed, but things havnt turned out like i hoped, my water meter has been faulty since i moved in, the dial turns even when everything is switched off, so my water bills are higher then even my neighbour in her 4 bed house, still waiting for housing association to come up with a solution, my electrics burnt out last winter in the house, i had weeks of flashing lights, and the ha wouldnt listen to me, untill 1 night the whole lot burnt out, and the ha left me in the middle of winter , with no heating, or electrics, for the whole weekend, despite numerous phone calls. my nibe fighter is a nightmare in the winter house feels cold , but electric bill really high, i thought these systems were meant to save money on heating bills. And to top it all we have to pay a weekly service charge of 9 pounds, for doing a tiny piece of garden, and it hardly ever gets done, but ha say we still have to pay the charge what a waste of money,but every time i report it to housing officer, i just get sucked and sighed at, i think we have a clash of personalitys. ive looked at a couple of exchanges just to get out of this huge mistake i have made, but it was a really big decision to move in the first place, and the deciding factor was that it was only round the corner from where i was living, but i dont think i can afford to live here anymore.

If your water meter is turning when you are not using any you have a leak. If the HA won't address this let the Water Board know. They are legally obliged to address this and once you let them know, they will write to the HA and ask them fix this.

hi, i didnt word my last post very well, it was late at night, and i was just sitting here really fed up with constant humming going round my house. The housing association have been dealing with the water leak, and it has been established that it is inside the house, and not the meter itself, but despite sending plumbers round, the leak cant be traced, so they are as perplexed as i am.they also had sound equipment put in which recorded the noise, but then decided they could do no more to help me, as it was too expensive to investigate further, though they did offer to move me, i have lived on these 2 streets for the best part of 18 years, and i dont want to move out of the area,and there is nothing available.ive made a mistake moving here, but theres no point whinging about it,just feel i have to get on with it, and try to adjust to this house.i dont think i will be turning my heating on this winter though, as just like everyone else my electric has gone up, and its now out of my reach, to be able to pay for it.

I am now still dealing with all of our problems, The anti-social behaviour problems are still continuing and the problems of the noise of the nibe unit and the high energy consumption are still have not been fixed unlike your H.A Melin are a nightmare to deal with and Melin are still refusing to rehouse us also, I have taken legal advice and as melin have failed to fix the problems within a reasonable time scale we have been told to with hold the rent as they have breached their own tenancy agreement and Melin homes are now sending threat letters to evict us so I will be happy to see them in court with all my proof of the the noise of the Nibe unit the high running costs, the snagging issues they have failed to fix, the proof of my family being accused of messing with the nibe on the 21st of July by melin homes and Micaul Solar of Cwmbran,

And also the proof of the way we has treated back in January 2011 by Greenhill Construction of Newport South Wales and Melin Homes Also the constant smell of S^&t in my garden and anti social behaviour problems that have been making our life and children’s life hell, If we go to court I will keep this site updated of the out come,
