Just thought I should warn you to be very careful using TCP around your cat as the phenol in it is highly toxic.

LOL. Wonder how much money i'd make rehoming unwanted fleas. I hope my boyfriend doesn't read this, he'll think i'm laughing at his expense. Its driving him to the point of insanity. like i said earlier, i'll try anything once.

By the way, my doggy has stopped scratching since applying the TCP. Just going to check her out now to see if there is a mass exodus of fleas!!!

I had that problem with my dogs, warm / hot weather makes it worse as flea eggs hatch. Each flea can lay hundreds of eggs and they multiply quite quickly.

For your dog I would recommend that you give him programm, its like the pill for fleas. Basically they will become infertile (the fleas). On top of that wash him in anti-flea shampoo and then use frontline as someone else recommended. I went OTT with it and used the once a month stuff (that you put on their neck) and the the spray once a week.

I got rid of all the carpets as they can stay there for ages. I use to spray the house once a week (concentrate on corners and under sofas and chairs) and vaccum everyday (I always imagined I was sucking the little creatures out...), I know I sound sick but they did drive me crazy... I would even change the vaccum bag every day and wrap it in a carrier bag... didn't want a single flea to escape.

Also, from experience, dogs who have fleas will also develop worms, aparently they are associated, so give him a dose of drontal as well.

On the moneysaving side of it... Programm, frontline etc is quite expensive here in the UK, but if you manage to go to the continent you can buy them at a pharmacy no prescription required and they will cost you about a 1/3 less.

Are there any dogs nearby that she might keep catching the fleas from?

If any when you get rid of the fleas, I would probably get a flea collar to hopefully stop them coming back

    A few tips here: http://www.answerbag.co.uk/articles/How-to-Fight-a-Flea-Infestation/a5222ec5-1743-8335-9089-be789f6537c5

I hope you manage to get rid of them :)

She has no other contact with dogs. but i will try this web site...thanks

Have you tried treating the house with a veterinary grade flea spray such as Acclaim, or Indorex?

I don't have much faith in "flea bombs" but have always found the sprays to be very good.

:rotfl:You could start a flea circus and make tons of money!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

On a more serious note, you will have to treat the cat again (not with TCP though) as the fleas will jump from one to the other.
