Well the sun sets (almost) on another fabulous weekend. Back to work tomorrow, boo and an even bigger boo!

Was at OH's but home now as he's away to the gym so a nice bath for me tonight I think, going to find it a struggle to get up tomorrow but need to make the effort. At least it's only a four day week.

Must also work out finances, Edinburgh cost a wee bit but nothing outrageous and only spent £2 today on a lovely little chunky pearl bracelet from a charity shop.

Bills all paid today and bank account is looking very deflated, boo.

Four weeks since becoming debt free and finding it a bit of a struggle tbh, savings are climbing slowly but the wedding is starting to cost more than we budgetted for so having to put more savings in the wedding fund. So glad the dentist is costing less that I thought, although not going to have that 'extra' money in my hand, but I guess not having to fork it out is still good. Go back on 20th May for my new crowns to be fitted, can't wait. If I stick the bill on my visa then I will have another month before I need to pay it and should have the bulk of it saved by then.

Still on the lookout for houses but not sure if we should hang fire on that one, OH still hasn't said anything about his uncles house and I'm rapidly going off it, needs loads of work. The deposit money is still at hand for us but if we wait then the chance of getting it gets slimmer and we'd need to sell my house before we could buy another, argh, I really dislike money sometimes.

Morning all, looks like this will be the last of the good weather - if the weather reports are to be believed that is.

Got the nurse tonight to see what injections I need for holibobs, will need to let OH know as well, he was aghast that he needed to get injections - he hates needles - which I find strange as he injects himself twice a day. Also going to try and make the boxing gym, was really bad last night. Found a stray (small) fruit scone in the freezer and before I knew what I was doing, it was in the microwave, cut open and slathered in butter :o

I did do half an hour on the exercise bike though, whilst watching the biggest loser so hope that counteracted it. PT emailed me about my food diary, said it was really good but probably not drinking enough water, also said to remember how well I've done when thinking of making bad food choices - eh if only he had emailed me an hour earlier :o

Well suppose better get on with some work, have a good day everyone x

Even diary, well nurse went ok, need tetanus and Hep A for hols so must remember and schedule that in soon. Got a prescription for them but had no time to go tonight. Had a horrible headache all day so came home for a lie down with the intention of going to boxing later - it shuts at 8pm. OH has just text to say he is home from work and guess what, yep I was still sleeping, not even had dinner yet, oops.

Now it's so late though, not sure I can be bothered making anything but needs must.

    Hey Swinstie,

Hope the headaches are fading - it can be a sign of dehydration so make sure you keep up the water intake. Well done on the weight loss - you've done great!

Thanks urg but it's defo not dehydration, been drinking loads of water.

I ended up with a holiday today as I was awake most of the night with severe toothache/headache, went to see the dentist and he said my 'temporary' teeth have become sensitive so he's given me penicillen and some sensodyne toothpaste. Next app isn't until two weeks today but he said he'd give me a call if the 'real' crowns come in sooner.

Managed the boxing today since was off, so went at 4.30pm when it was really quiet, did an hour. Was also at PT last night, I put a 1lb on, boo, but he said not to worry too much on the weight reduction as I'm still losing cms. Lost 6cms so far on my waist, so quite happy with that.

Well, OH is on his way down, so better go get dinner started, tonight it is sirloin steak with sweet potato (normal tatts for him) and loads of veggies, yum.

    Afternoon,

Well been digging about at my finances again this week. In preparation for putting my dental work on my Visa, I've paid it off this month, got my new statement in today and it's currently sitting at £28.16 so will be able to pay that off May's wage and be sitting at zero again by the time dental work is finished. Will probably pay an extra £100 to it as well, or more if I can so it has a + amount.

Have had to up my food budget as with this new diet I'm spending quite a bit more, only thing that has been wasted though was a bag of salad that went soggy.

My next problem is that in work we have a Euromillions syndicate which was only put on when it was a roll-over, now this new one has started tonight, I've been hearing guys go on about just putting it on every time, which was maybe fine when it was once a week, but now it's twice a week, I really can't afford it. When you think about it, it's £20 every month, that's how much I've had to raise my food budget by and when I think I could be buying food with that it really pees me off that these guys who are on mega wages expect everyone else to spend this money - we are never likely to win the big one so why not just put it on every so often.

The guy who runs it has had to fork out money for someone who is off sick, so he's out of pocket and don't think he wants to do this new way, but me and him will be the only two protesting! Crikey, I can hardly afford my boxing training at £2 a time as got too much to save up for.

No wonder people get into debt, it's a slippery slope, and one I don't want to be on.

    Slept in this morning.....

No breakfast, no lunch made. Managed to get some scrambled egg and two well done pieces of bacon from the canteen but goodness knows what's for lunch - it's curry day and I'd be too tempted by the naan bread so not even venturing back there.

Had an arguement this morning about this flipping lottery, they want to put it on all the time and basically I've to like it or lump it, I'm gonna have to lump it as I can't afford £20 a month for something we're unlikely to win - goodness I really hope they don't or I'll be sitting here myself, ha!

They are all on double or more than my salary and can afford to pay £20 a month, I simply can't. And they all have houses already, obviously I have a house but with a tiny mortgage which we're going to be extending to 4 times the amount possibly.

Speaking of which, going to view 3 houses on Sunday, two of them are at the higher end of our budget and the other one is the lowest. The two we kind of liked, can't see them til next week. Really tempted by one already just going on the pics but might not be able to afford it if the sellers want a lot over the asking price. Going to contact the lawyer to see about fees as we've nothing set aside for this, I'm not clued up on this house buying/selling malarky.

Hi Swinstie - I know your legal systems are different to ours, but down here Solicitors fees for buying are around about £650 - plus disbursements which include searches, Land reg fees etc. Don't forget to budget for your stamp duty too - you can't add this onto a mortgage and a lot of people get caught out by that.

Re the lottery thing, would a compromise be to suggest maybe doing the regular lottery one a week? Not so much expenditure that way. Or even put say £5 a month into a pot and once a month buy a load of scratch cards? It is awkward when you're the "odd one out" on something like that, but on the other hand perhaps you're actually not - it's just that you're the only one with the guts to speak out on it?
