Tell me about it, this woman used to be a manager (she's 20 years older - and I'm old, ha) and she still thinks she's above everyone else. She more or less told me she wasn't in to help me, even though they've been trying to get someone in for ages to do that, so essentially I end up doing my own work and helping her - talk about role reversal! I keep want to shout, 'you've been in this dept since Nov, I've been here for over 5 flipping years.
One thing, she does tend to move on and not hold a grudge (unlike me) so yesterday was ok. She's off today and on a course next week so won't see her til Thursday, I can cope with that.
I think it was a flea, yuk! It only started when I left a window open but I found it yesterday so hoping there aren't anymore. I flushed it down the toilet, wish I hadn't now, could've put it on fleabay :rotfl:
Well thank crunchie it's Friday, really quiet in office today. Think I might treat myself to a wee latte today.0 -

Go on, sounds like you deserve it - I hear lattes have anti-inflammatory properties
I'm only working 'til noon today, looking forward to getting up the road and going out for a gentle jog.0 -
Damn, I just read about lattes having anti-inflammatory properties but it's too late, the canteen is closed, Mmph!
Actually I decided I've been really good so not going to waste it, probably will over the weekend but hey it's the weekend. Or I could do what my sister does, asks for a skinny cafe mocha somethingorother (with caramel)! Duh, it's not exactly low fat now is it, ha!
I have sat here all day doing zero, hope the managers have not installed wee cameras behind me or I'll be in trouble, oops!0 -

I'm not an expert (I only drink 'man coffee' - even adding milk is verging on the effeminate) but I hear that they do sugar free versions of those syrups, so maybe not as bad as it sounds?

I sit almost every day doing nothing at work because we have too many staff for too little work and my line manager works in a sort of !!!!!! Tracy mystery world where he keeps everything secret, never asks for help and never passes on work even when it's entirely appropriate to delegate! It sucks, but two years on and the cameras don't appear to be giving away too much?
Did you get the weather today? Glasgow was beautiful (it's still warm) and my Dad is in Melrose where they're also enjoying some decidedly un-Scottish weather.0 -
Hey edinburgher
Long time no 'see'.
Hope life is treating you well?

Hi all,
Thanks for the congrats Lula & Essex, it's ok, I always miss all the news too, usually lagging behind somewhere.
Well it's been a glorious weekend here, did catch some sun edinburgher but mostly today as didn't do much yesterday. OH was standby but we had to visit the venue so were only out for a couple of hours. Got everything sorted, feeling quite relaxed that everything is covered without [STRIKE]us[/STRIKE] me having to worry about too many things.
Weekend wasn't all great, OH came home on Friday to news that his uncle had died, he was 91 so had quite a full life. Sad thing is his wife is in a nursing home and has been told but doesn't seem to even remember. We spent a couple of hours today helping his mum and dad go through his house, they didn't have any family. His house was (still is) FULL of stuff, unfortunately he was one of those guys who the total scumbags of the earth prey on and he had spent thousands on basically every kind of crap you can imagine. Found letters from various companies trying to sell him things or tell him he'd won stuff, total scumbags!
Also cleaned OH's mum and dad's bathroom for them yesterday, they got a lovely bathroom put in a couple of months ago but it was starting to look disgusting, I had to clean it. I've said I'll give it a quick once over when I'm up, they try their best but they're quite old.
Anyway I am bush-whacked so need to get to bed. Good news is, didn't spend too much this weekend.0 -
Morning, well not as nice here today as the weekend but I guess being at work it's better it's not nice.
Had two disasters this morning, lost the nozzle from my hair mousse (hoping it's at OH's but trying to get him to find it might prove difficult) and I stood on my bronzer so that's broken everywhere, bah! Will need to buy a new bronzer as it's quite old and now it's broke will end up with bacteria (well even more than it already has). So much for trying to stay away from shops!0
