Well, a very productive day, no spends for me (so far) but hoping for none. Had porridge for breakfast and ended up taking a half day as wasn't happy that house wasn't totally finished.
So have been cleaning all afternoon and the house is looking lovely for it. I even put out the new kettle and toaster I bought about 5 years ago when I got my new kitchen. At the time I thought it was a waste as my kettle and toaster were still working but today, I thought why the heck not. They look lurvly.
Have sorted dinner too so all OH has to do is start the cooking whilst I'm away boxing. I'm cacking myself, cousing said it wasn't as busy on a Friday but then again he said it wasn't busy on Monday and it was mobbed. Just got my coffee table to polish, then my teeth to brush and head off. It's only five mins away but don't want to turn up late.0 -

Afternoon all,
Well, after sitting outside the gym for 20 mins, waiting on my cousin who wasn't there yet, but mainly being scared to go in, I did eventually venture in. Luckily wasn't as busy as last Monday and the ice was broken when I seen a door open and went to look in and got shouted at because it was the changing rooms, oops! I didn't see a thing, honest.
Was really put through my paces, felt very un-fit but left 1.5 hours later feeling sore but quite refreshed. So, skipping (it's harder than I remember), punching (for my bingo wings), step-ups, lunges, squats, sit ups then finally stretches and I was knacked. Felt very self-conscious at first but everyone was just into their own training. Going back on Monday, yeah!
Also going to give cousin's son a call as defo going to do the PT, he focuses on food as well, so I really need to get that under control, even bought some packs of cooked chicken to munch on during the day at work. Made it to Body Pump today and was a bit in agony but managed it nonetheless, I have a feeling I will suffer tomorrow.
OH is working today but is down tonight, got meatballs out defrosting for dinner so just need to start preparing the sauce. Small portion for me, I'm sure the last time I made them we had about nine each, he'll eat that amount or less but I'm cutting mines down.
£13 spent today on some food essentials, also got three tubes of toothpaste, buy 1 get 2 free, always go through toothpaste quite fast. OH working tomorrow too so hoping for a quiet night and no money spent, already said if we go to the pub I'm not drinking much, if at all.
Well have a nice weekend everyone.0 -
Morning all, well it is glorious here, shame I'm not long up and not ready yet, bah!
Anyway, had a great sleep but when I went to put my feet out the bed this morning, I nearly fell in a heap, yes I officially can't walk without squealing in pain. My legs feel like lead and methinks I might not make it to the boxing tomorrow, I guess I worked harder than I thought.
Well, chores for today, house is still looking lovely but in order to keep it that way I will do a quick tidy up, make bed, put dishes away etc. Then down to mum's with card (taking her for lunch one day in the next week or so) for mother's day. Might nip to the shop for some lunch essentials then back home to update my finance spreadsheet. OH is working, if my legs had been up to it, it would've been a lovely day for a walk (glad he's working, ha).0 -
So have decided I need to learn a little patience, you know the BC CC minimum payment I didn't think was coming out, well it did, so another £11.39 paid to it by simply being too impatient. Technically although I'm still awaiting £25 to come out for my other credit card, my total debt is now at £13.61, just paid to the wrong card, ha.
Mum was asking me today about the lodge money, so the amount for that is currently at £188.61 so if my mum and one sister pay their share that will be cleared next month. It was working out at £75 each if six adults were paying or £89 if only 5 - my sister in Canada won't be home in time, so I'll pay an extra share so they only need to pay £75 each since it was my idea anyway.
Does anyone else when almost debt free, actually get scared about spending money? I'm thinking of all the things I could buy but don't want to stick things on my Visa, so actually don't want to buy anything now IYSWIM. Not saying it will last, would be good if it lasted the rest of this year though, just so we could get the wedding/cruise etc., bought and paid for without going into debt.
Just realised that I've had my car 4 years this month, it's been paid off for 6 months now but wasn't due to finish til next April. My plan was always to keep the car til it was paid, but it's great knowing it's mines free and clear already - just need to start a wee savings plan for the next one, maybe in two years time. I've never saved for a car before, has always been bank loans. It's a bit scary all the things that now need saved for, eek!0 -
Where are you going to the lodges?
Is this for your hen do?

Just had a nice relaxing bath and my legs feel a wee bit better, hoping ok for tomorrow.
Lodges are in Callander beanie, they have hot-tubs
Not really hen-do, more like a family get-away like we used to do, my nephew is going so it's not all wimmen. Not sure if I'm even having a hen-do, I'd settle for a nice meal and some drinks, probably in Glasgow, not into all that dressing up stuff, too old for it. That's if anyone wants to go, ha. There are some that I'd invite as been on nights out with them but wouldn't see me inviting them to the wedding, would that be bad?? We're restricted with numbers so not sure even could invite them, also the hand-woman from the office, I stupidly blurted out about an invite for her - this was before the hand incident, how do I take it back??
Anyway, going to relax for the night, might iron some clothes if I can be bothered, other than that, sitting here with my moostache cream on, hope nobody comes to the door :eek:0 -
Hi Swinstie,
It's great that you're scared about spending. It shows you've learned alot on your debt-free journey! So close now I am taking a deep breath so I can cheer you on when that total is at £0!
Re - mustache cream. My darling husband calls me Guisseppe - older cousin of Mario (of Super Mario fame) when I do mine! It always makes me laugh!
Enjoy your week!

Yaaay!! Congrats
So happy for you!!
I think with buying things now, you just need to remember; Debt is Dumb. Cash is King. And you'll be fine! No amount of pretty things is worth the slog of getting back out of debt if you can't afford it, right? Enjoy your DFD0
