Good morning, ooh it's a cold one but the sun is out so looks lovely and crisp.

Well dinner went well last night, [STRIKE]made[/STRIKE] heated up some chilli bean soup I got on a whoopsie in Morrisons yesterday, then I made Steak Marilyn Monroe, basically steaks with onions and mushrooms in a sauce, with mashed potatoes because OH eh, distracted me :D so I didn't have time to sort the baked ones. (The mashed ones were frozen so zapped in micro), we also had some veggies, twas very nice but again because of the ahem distraction, the steaks were a bit over-done as I had to stick them in the oven to heat them up.

OH brought me some roses and the Adele CD, so I got my flowers after all :D

Slept in a wee bit this morning so haven't brought lunch, got my porridge though so will just buy some soup for lunch today and make sarnies tomorrow.

Ok, question time! As I made my BT this month, my BC CC is now at £418, was going to make my payment of £209 (including the minimum payment) then pay £209 + interest next month to clear it. Because (I hate starting sentences with because) of the BT my minimum payment won't come off as the BT covered it, so should I still make my payment or just wait til next month and pay it all???

OK, have decided just to pay my usual payment to my CC, but it's taking too long to get to pay-day! Hurry up.....

OH down tonight, so going to [STRIKE]make[/STRIKE] mix packet mix to make carbonara tonight as I've got all the ingredients.

Any ideas as to what I can use single cream for, apart from pouring over a lovely piece of apple pie? I used some for the dinner on Monday and still have half a tub, don't want it going to waste, would it work in the carbonara do you think? Anyone!

Hoping to not spend much at all the rest of the week, have lunch with me today and will make up some tuna for sarnies tomorrow and Friday. Must remember my toothbrush tomorrow as I have the dentist

OMG, The Goose is back.......... *waves*

I posted on your diary but think it's been abandoned. How's things, hope everything is well with everything - need all your news.

Well, not much to report today, have written my neice's birthday cheque, she's 21, OMG that makes me feel quite old, and will get my mum to post it tomorrow. Must remember to actually give her some stamp money as forgot the last time when she posted my Christmas cards, oops. So nothing spent today, so far, but I have the dentist tonight and can't remember if there is a charge for a check-up or not.

Going to find out what getting my gnashers done is going to cost, would it be cheeky if I asked to pay for 3 teeth and get 1 free??
  • Ha Ha! Didn't mean to worry you by disappearing off the face of the MSE earth! Just had bigger bumpier things taking over my world! Have updated my diary which is still there! Hurrah! I need to do a new signature with a new det balance.

Let me tell you maternity leave is AMAZING but also the hardest job going and my income has vastly dropped. But I wouldn't change it as the Gosling is the neatest little chick ever. He is currently swinging away in a swinger thing which is huge but keeps him entertained. In fact, can't be that interesting as he's just yawned! Lol!

So what's new with you!? Are t'others still about?

    Morning all,

Goosey, you sound like you're loving motherhood - might need to change your name to Mothergoose!

Well, had dentist appointment yesterday, all looking good as didn't need anything done. Spoke to him about getting my crowns done and explained I wanted my four teeth done - even asked if I could buy three teeth and get one free - guess what?! He's going to do me a deal, ha!

They are not done on the NHS so I will need to go the dental clinic for colour matching etc., so have got my first appointment on 28th April when I have a day off anyway. I was sure when I first asked he said the front teeth cost £500 each and £350 for the side teeth so I had costed £1700 , but he priced up at £350 each, so £1400 but then said it could maybe be done for £1200 (this will be me :D).

However, in case he has made a mistake I'm going to prepare myself for a £1700 bill and hopefully it will come down to around £1500, which is still a lot of money, but it's something I really want/need done. Not happy with my teeth at all, especially in pictures. I found one of me where I have quite a cheesy grin and zoomed in for a better look = dreadful.

So knowing I have this dental work coming up will hopefully keep me on track with my spending, it has even put me off booking tickets to go and see Dolly P - actually the £75 price put me off - got Elton John in June so got something to look forward to at least.

Wee latte this morning so £1.25 spent, got porridge and something for lunch too so shouldn't spend too much rest of the day. OH is taking me out for dinner tonight so no cooking either, woo hoo.

Tomorrow, gym in morning then we're going to a friend from work's house at night for dinner and drinkies - she always makes cocktails so I will end up DRUNK.....

Goodness, not been on here for a wee while, oops.

Just trying to crawl my way to pay-day on Friday, have been managing my spending notions by buying stuff for the wedding, I now have my candelabra and two sets (not quite matching) of candlesticks so thats me all sorted. Been talking to someone today though who had been to a wedding recently and it sounded SO fancy, getting worried ours is gonna look rubbish cos we're trying to do it on a budget. Oh well.

Back later with some more money updates as it's finishing time, yeah!

Good advice beanie - it's all about the bride and groom, not other people :D

  • Of course it won't be rubbish! Trust me, compared to our day you are on a HUGE budget, and you know all that "stuff" you're worrying about people thinking it looks cheap - they won't even notice! So long as they get a nice meal and enough alcohol inside them afterwards, all they will really remember afterwards is the pair of you looking blissfully happy, and whatever they see in their photos! (Which if it's anything like the candid shots I got at my cousin's wedding, may well turn out to be the best man scratching his....errr....rowlocks?! :D) (Yes, I really DID get that shot, and yes, it made it into the photo-book we did them as a wedding pressie!)

Your dinners always sound soooooo yummy! I'm jealous of the yorkies too - not made those in ages. We've got fish pie tonight mind you which is one of our favourite dinners!

ps - the poshest wedding I have ever attended was also one of the most boring - there was no dancing or anything after the meal so it all just sort of fizzled out!
