Great list Swinstie - and all looking both achievable and designed to give you a sense of achievement about carrying through, so all good there.

Regarding your friend....do you think she's just disorganised, and doesn't get around to contacting you? Or is it, possibly, that she's not confident that any approaches from her would be well received, and thus she shies away from making contact in case her lack of self-confidence leaves her feeing that people don't really want to spend time with her, but didn't feel able to say no? If she's a really good friend then be cautious that being stubborn about contacting her doesn't lead to a breakdown in the relationship, if not so good, then maybe consider whether the friendship is simply more high maintenance than it ought to be?

Your dinners always sound so nice! Mind you, mine might be more interesting when I finally get to the bottom of one or other freezer! :rotfl:

    Hi all,

Well had a first aid course yesterday then was at OH's so no computer for me, boo. I'd love to have a massage once a week Beanie, but think can only stretch to at the least once a month, although think that's what you meant.

Have managed to do some things from my list, been to the gym today so got my exercise in, OH is coming down tonight (so will get more exercise ;)).

Made my over-payment to BC CC, and returned a mac I had bought the other day which I didn't like much so finances still on track.

Have just had a nice shower and got a facepack on just now , couldn't be bothered with dealing with the hairy legs though, OH won't mind, I hope :rotfl::rotfl:

Going to visit mum tomorrow, seen one sister today at the gym, bought myself some flowers to try out for our centerpieces, they look great (and cheap).

Making haggis, tatties and neeps tonight, not strictly cooking from scratch but not bought in either (although we did have a sneaky Chinese last night).

OH coming down for 7pm(ish) so need to get some housework done, I am distinctly lacking in motivation for this but will do it.

As for friend Essex, she's definitely not afraid to contact me. We passed each other yesterday, she was going to her car and I was coming home (we live near each other) and she did speak very briefly but it was raining and windy so it was for less than a minute,

We've not (nor will we) fall out, BUT I'm just fed up being the first one to make contact, the last time she actually called me was to ask to borrow some money (which I got back) but I just always seem to be the one initiating contact. Her and her OH won't even come to the pub with myself and OH, it's a local pub so we don't exactly spend much, and they have came on numerous occasions and we always have a laugh. They just prefer to sit in the house watching tv ALL the time, just don't get it. It does have a lot to do with finances, I know that for sure but still it doesn't excuse me doing all the contacting.

Anyway, we're going into a girl from work's house 2 weeks tonight, they seem to be a bit up for going out and doing stuff, even though they have 2 kids. We've become quite good friends and can honestly say she's shown more interest in the wedding for instance than anybody else.

Ok, positive Swinstie is back - was starting to get myself mad there, right need to go and do some dishes and tidy up. OH is coming straight from work so won't bother doing the bathroom til he's had a shower, it will be like a mud-bath.

    Have a nice night.

When I'm debt free and got more savings, you never know, a once a week massage would be fab - supposed I could get a free one from OH :D

Well Body Pump from yesterday has totally knocked me for six, I can hardly flipping move - needless to say didn't get any more exercise!

OH is away to watch the footy so I'm just going to relax for a while before jumping in the shower. We had toast and links sausage this morning for breaky, they were so tasty and it's the first time in yonks he has been down for the weekend without having to get up early for work. I will need to address my portion control though, ate more than I should have.

Although I've decided that to heck with the diet, I'm going to eat what I like (within reason) but make sure my portions are smaller, I think there is nothing worse than trying to abstain from foods, it only makes me crave them more. My sister says the women from her work go on low calorie diets, lose loads of weight then put it all back on a month later. So I'm going to have what I fancy but just have less of it, that's the plan anyway.

Ok, going to have a cup and watch a bit of catch up tv, then jump in shower. OH won't be back until about 2.30pm. Have a nice Sunday aft.

ETA: Also went to the pub for the first time in ages last night, controlled my alcohol intake quite well, but £20 in the kitty - we've loads left though which we'll keep in our joint kitty.

Sounds like a good plan with the portion control - I am really struggling to lose weight at the moment, think I'm being ggod but it's not shifting  I need to start exercising!

    Evening all,

Had not a bad weekend, didn't spend anything yesterday even though I did visit a couple of shops. Tried on a pair of tan brogues in Topshop which were quite nice (to replace my scuffed ones) but were £52. Had a look on ebay and there are a few pairs I like but they all have bids so not sure whether I want to get into a bidding war, trying to stay away from ebay too.

Work was ok, visited mum afterwards then went to the supermarket for some groceries. Spent £25.12 and got LOADS of whoopsies, going to work out how much I saved, although won't be much of a saving if I can't get it all in my flipping freezer. Bought a big bag of tatties but some look bad, not impressed with that as I usually like them baked. Will be back later with my savings amount - actually starting to get a bit skint already this month, looking more than likely that my DFD is going to be March as originally planned. Something to think about as I don't want to have to start using my Visa because I've left myself skint trying to pay if off.
  • Better by far to make it March instead Swinstie, and be able to say "I'm debt free!" in big sparkly capital letters, rather than having to say "I'm almost debt free, apart from the pesky credit card!". Well done for thinking things through and realising it. :T

Definitely going to be March Essex, have already had to use my CC today for petrol and still over two weeks til payday.

Well, I am typing this from my Mum's, went shopping straight after work tonight as OH was working late so wasn't coming down, spent loads of time just wandering around the shops, got his card and pressie for Valentine's Day, then thought I better head home. Got home, parked car and went to get my house keys out of my bag - no keys! I've only (I hope) gone and left them in work, which is 16 miles from my house and obviously shut. There is a security guard on but I was scared to go back over so came to my Mum's. Had to get dinner here too, got no lunch for tomorrow and no clean clothes. What a wally!! Quite funny actually, I'll laugh about it one of these days.
