I found my keys!!! They were sitting right on my desk where I hoped they would be. Thank goodness for that, had visions of having to get a locksmith in. You know where I'll be going at the weekend, to get my keys cut and leave a spare pair at my mum's. Didn't tell my mum that her spare key was on mines, imagine they had been lost, oops!
I'd normally put them onto my car keys but I don't like my car key being too heavy.
Anyway, all's well that ends well.0 -
Well, have worked out myself a wee plan of action. I am definitely going to be debt free by the end of March, February is not going to work out as it's two weeks til payday and I'm struggling a bit. Have already used my CC (it has gone up slightly, oops) but will definitely pay it off over the next 2 months. It makes even more sense considering that my Play CC is on 0% until March anyway, I'd just have been wasting a month by paying it early.
So £1K + £30 transfer fee (£940 of wedding debt/£90 mines plus transfer fee) has been transferred to my Halifax CC for six months 0%. It was only going to be £926 + £14 transfer fee, but £1k was a nice round number. The £90 which belongs to me will be paid in the first payment so will still be able to declare myself officially debt free - was worried about this as I was sneakily not going to count it - but I am an honest Swinstie.
So, payment on 28th Feb will be £709.28 + £175 to Halifax (due around beginning of March), then £709.28 + any interest on 28th March and that's it, debt free, yeah!
I can then start saving properly and should be able to save between £500 - £600 per month (I hope). Wedding savings still on schedule and once I have been to my dentist appointment next Thursday I should have an idea of how much my dental work will cost.
The dentist is really good, hoping he does a payment plan where I can maybe pay up my treatment. Should have most of it saved by the time I start it in May but just to be sure might need to use savings, if he doesn't have a plan. *fingers crossed he does*
Work is ok, on and off, I'm trying to do my breathing and keep calm techniques although not sure it is working.
Also called the docs for my blood results, I've ended up on Iron tablets as my blood count was low, thinking personally of just drinking more Irn Bru :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

My downfall is that I love a wee vodka with it
Beanie, have you ever heard from Land of Maz? Don't know if you remember but I met you all in Edinburgh not last Christmas but the one before. I miss reading her diary.
Well, I've decided that in order to enjoy my new frugal living to the fullest I am going to start shopping at Aldi. Wow, I went in on the way home tonight to get some onions (and hopefully yorkies - although I really should make my own) and I spent £5.16 on:
Pack of 15 Yorkshire Puddings - 59p
3 large onions 89p
Rice Cakes which turned out to be 6 snack packs of quite thinish rice cakes - so 36 in total - 99p
And the piece de resistance (sorry if that's wrong, was never good at French) a bag of frozen tuna steaks, £2.69 down from £3.69. Thought it was two tuna steaks, turns out it has either 5 or 6 in there, I thought that was fab.
They have loads of great stuff, but you really need to go with an empty boot, a full wallet, someone to help pack the bags and then room in your freezer - mines is jam packed at the mo.
Even seen some lovely bouquets of flowers

Aw what a nice post to come back to! LOL to the amazing hair, if you seen it right now you'd change your mind, ha. Say hi to Maz when you meet up, I remember the nasty diary incident but thought she still post elsewhere.
Well, not much done this weekend, have been mega bored actually. OH was down last night but was working and on standby today and working tomorrow too. He was called out again not long after getting home so not spoken to him yet today. Been to the gym then mum's and then back home to basically sit around watching tv. Can't get myself motivated to do too much.
Anyway, made a FAB dinner last night, bought beef olives the other day and made a casserole with them, potatoes, onions, carrots and gravy which we had with yorkshire puddings. Not too fab you may think, but when I went to put them in the casserole, I noticed they were Haggis beef olives, OMG they were delish.
Had a simple dinner tonight of chicken kiev, mashed tatts, sweetcorn and yorkies (I think I am addicted to them). Not sure about tomorrow's dinner yet but the freezer is full so will find something.
OH is coming down on Monday so going to make Steak Marilyn Monroe as I have steaks in the freezer and have mushrooms and onions to use up. Only think I need to buy is single cream. I also have loads of potatoes, carrots and leaks so might try and make a soup too, then I can have the rest for work.
Have checked finances and BT has gone through so all looking good. Been trawling ebay looking for candlesticks for the wedding table, I've seen loads of nice ones but I really need either four matching or 2 pairs of complimenting ones. Knowing me I'll get two then not be able to get the other two. I have a lovely candlestick which I bought ages ago from Matalan but have only one and no chance of getting anymore. Probably best wait until I see the candelabra at the venue, although wouldn't mind if need to buy one as it can be used again, I love having candles burning.
Well, of to read some diaries then settle AGAIN with the tv until OH calls. Night all x

I can't get to grips with my slow cooker, always think things should be ready hours ago IYSWIM!
Well 20 mins tonight on the exercise bike = 5 kms, 150 calories which in turn = I've just cycled for 20 mins to work off the 142 calorie twix I just ate :rotfl::rotfl:
I will learn one of these days, no wonder I'm not losing any weight, I'm counteracting my exercise with eating junk
Well, no money spent today as I've not left the house, actually that's a little lie, I have been on ebay and I've bought a couple of things for the wedding, so not strictly my money. I managed to get some candlesticks, but I couldn't get 4 matching ones, unless of course I wanted to pay £9K . No really, there were ones on there for that price. So I've ended up with 2 pairs of similar but not the same and figured that if they don't look ok together then I will put a pair away, maybe for our Secret Santa this year - you'd like to receive a nice pair of candlesticks for Christmas eh?! I know I would, so that's the plan, if they match great but if not, was thinking of using one pair and getting two empty Whisky bottles for the other candles. I've got one at home and I love it, think would look rather nice.
So back to work tomorrow so think I best go and find something to wear and at least be a little bit prepared for once. Not sure what to have for lunch, probably porridge again no doubt, til I get to the shop for fresh bread.

Just got a phone call saying flowers had been delivered for me but to another office, got all excited til I remembered there is someone at the office with the same name, boo!
OH got me roses a couple of years ago and they were lucky to last 2 days, waste of money. I'd rather he got me some supermarket ones. I got myself some a week past on Saturday and they are still going strong, thinking of using them for our centerpieces and if I'm feeling adventurous, my bouquet or even my bridesmaid's bouquet. I'm going to be buying myself a lot of flowers this year, to practise with.
10 days til pay-day and I have £64.65 in my purse, also got £406.20 in the bank but this was part of my savings (£450) I transferred so not really wanting to touch that. Have had two TNSD's over the weekend but I need a couple of things for dinner tonight and also lunch as I didn't go shopping yesterday.
Have £15 to get out of the wedding fund so technically will have £79.65 to do me, £25 to pay for my snow shovel - please snow again so I can use it - think I can do it. Going to a friend's this weekend but she's making dinner and drinks so should be a cheap night.
Well I bit the bullet and emailed two friend's who I've not heard from in a while, well, if I don't keep in touch they probably won't. One has replied, the one I usually see more and the other hasn't yet, but I'm sure she will. Feels better knowing we're still on speaking terms IYSWIM, I guess people's lives (or is it life's) just get busy,0
