Well, still not much happening financially. Still on the count-down, only 10 days til pay-day but another week before my payments come off, boo.
Fast running out of food, actually the freezer is full, just don't have anything to go with the freezer stuff. Only got £7.35 in my purse and about £52 in the bank so will need to juggle a bit from my savings as I really need to get some essentials.
Having beef curry (from the Chinese/freezer) for dinner tonight and will need to try and eat what I have until pay-day. Once I can do a big shop, I'm planning on doing the GI diet again, means my beloved yorkies/baked potatoes/chocolate etc etc will be off the menu. It's supposed to be a good diet for diabetics too so hopefully OH will be on board. He loves potatoes but too much isn't good for his sugar levels.
Gosh making myself hungry now.0 -
I'm trying to do battle with "lots in the freezer but nothing to cook" syndrome myself at the moment so have sympathy with you! Mind you having batch cooked six portions of bolognese sauce today I now have even MORE in the freezer! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It's terrible Essex, I have so much food in there but never anything to go with it.
Spent £12.75 yesterday and got some essentials along with 2 bags of potatoes so at least I can have them with my freezer treasures.
Took some chicken out for tonight's dinner, going to make a chicken curry, I have a brill recipe BUT I ended up buying a Lloyd G balti sauce as I have a case of the CBA's. Even bought microwave rice, how bad is that. I think I will stick an onion and a tin of chickpeas in with it to bulk it up a bit. Might even have an errant naan bread in the freezer - which reminds me, I bought flour to make naan breads - have I used it?? No!
I'm in the doledrums a bit today, can you tell!?0 -
Morning peeps,
Well OH didn't make it down last night, he didn't get in until quarter to six, he's usually on his way down at that time. If he had came down he'd have got here around 7pm then leaves again at 10pm so I said we could leave it til Friday. I didn't get home til half five myself and was rushing around trying to get showered etc.
Still made the curry which was so so, not as tasty as I hoped. Have frozen a big portion so OH can have some next weekend. Did a washing last night (well the machine did it) then sat on my !!!, really need to get the house in order but I'm getting very lazy.
Was driving to work this morning with my petrol light flashing, so will have to go out (in the rain) at lunch-time to get some, Visa will need to be used as I'm quite skint. OH had money to give me last night as well which I could've used but never mind.
Porridge boiled over this morning too, I'm not really having a great week, could be worse I guess, must remember and count my blessings.0 -
Annoying when you make something you have high hopes for and then it turns out to be a bit Meh isn't it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hoping my simple dinner tonight isn't meh! Beef olives, baby potatoes and loads of veggies. Only thing is I can't seem to make gravy properly. I have previously used gravy granules but thought for a change I'd buy the gravy powder, you know the original stuff and it just doesn't seem to turn out.
Anyway, a week til payday and I have £23.45 in my purse, £164.80 in the bank but I'm still waiting on neice cashing her cheque and this also includes my road tax money - which I transferred from account and switching Essex, rather than paying a CC charge to do it online, see I'm learning.
That will leave me with £19.80 in the bank hence me having to put my petrol on my Visa today, £30 petrol, £1.60 bag of pistachios (yum) and £1.30 for vaseline cos I took the one from work home but didn't bring it back, doh! Once OH pays his Visa money I will need to pay extra so I'm still on track.
Going to have a deficit of £250 on my Visa but I'm not counting it as technically it's not my debt, but this will still need to be paid so will clear it April/May. It's lodge money I have to get from my sisters but didn't want to ask for it just now. I know I will get it back later and means I won't spend it in the meantime.
Goodness I'm so bored at work this week, no dramas as the waving hand lady is off on hols, peace perfect peace. Although I can hear the owner of the constantly ringing mobile screeching across the office, what a voice. I know where I'd shove her mobile, and it could be either or!
ETA - Got a £5 voucher when I filled up with petrol, how could I have forgotten that!0 -
Oh you do make me laugh
Yum to the beef olives.
How do you cook them?
I sometimes bung them in the slow cooker.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. YOur morning sounds like my day on Tuesday - I forgot to wear my rings; things kept going wrong at work and then it took me over two hours to get home from work as the line went down!!
It really does look like your money management is working!!!!!0 -
Well, the beef olives were yumarama if I do say so myself. Tonight Beanie, I bunged them in a casserole dish, with some potatoes, (usually onion as well but I forgot the onion) so instead put carrots in along with loads of frozen veggies and gravy. Peas, beans, cauliflower and broccoli, it was surprising tasty and very hearty. Just what the doctor ordered.
I hate when I forget my ring urg, ooh in 8 months time I'll be saying rings, plural.
Well, trying to get some housework done, spent the last two hours watching tv so better get something done.
Less thinking, more doing, less thinking, more doing.......0
