I saw that the Card Factory in Bicester was selling 3m rolls of wrapping paper £1 for 3 rolls. Thought I'd get a fivers worth but at the till the kind lady told me they were actually 10 rolls for a pound!!! Eventually bought 30 rolls for 3 quid. Would have got more but couldn't carry any more bags. Shouldn't need to buy anymore paper now for a couple of years...result!!0

WHSmiths at The Fort Birmingham were selling 12 quality crackers reduced from £14.99 to £1.99. All crackers were reduced to £1.99 but mostly were in packs of 6. Packs of cards were still priced at 99p tholovin' this site!

I've also bought all my wrapping paper, cards, crackers and gift tags (some made from this years cards) for next year. Have also got 4 presents sorted. The children get stockings full of useful stuff - shower gel, deodrant, toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner (their favourite brand) I'm planning on picking these up when they are on special offer during the year. This year was quite difficult because of illness and the snow, so planning on being more organised, hopefully the bulk of gift buying done by October.

Just recognised myself here - not exactly moneysaving is it?
I've learnt the hard way, lol. I used to be worse with food, going mad when it came to the reduced section at the supermarket on the weekly shop and buying so much stuff (all bargains of course!) not realising until I got home I couldn't eat it all before it went off and didn't have any more room to freeze it for later!
Still working my way through the freezer now but average weekly grocery spend these days £5-£10 a week so not all bad! :T0 -
Well, I will get deodorant etc throughout the year as & when I see it on special, but I don't know about you lot, but I am terrible for buying things & then forgetting what I have bought. This year, I am going to be more organised and have get a spreadsheet set up to list everything I have bought & can then refer back to. This will also cover birthdays etc and currently has listed, among other things, some Fiorelli purses in different colours and a Fiorelli bag, bought for the bargain price of £32 altogether, from an original cost of best part of £150.
Best purchase ever was in Jan 2009, bought a games compendium for about £16 for some kids for the following Christmas. Due to the horrific weather, schools were closed and they were off for about a month (including the Christmas hols before you think the weather was that bad!) and this proved to be the best thing they got at Christmas. Thankfully they are not materialistic and appreciate any gifts they get, but they had alot of fun and when the weather improved enough, all of their friends joined in the fun. Think I made alot of mums very happy for my investmentA smile costs little but creates much0 -
