  • Last year I got my luxury Christmas Crackers in WH Smiths reduced from £9.99 to £1.99 for six.

This year I have got a 2ft black tinsel Christmas tree in Tesco reduced from £3 to 75p and some pink fluffy lights to go on it reduced from £5 to £1.25.

I don't usually go actively seeking these things but for the Boots 75% off sale I make an exception :)

Keep an eye out for offers on CD, DVD, Blu-Ray etc. I picked up a DVD for my Mum a couple of years ago in the sales for under a fiver, and it was her favourite present of the lot! :D

  • I got three M&S Pamper sets for half price. Very handy to put away for those birthday's that I always forget!

I got that tree too, I saw it at £1.50 only last week and I'm glad I didn't buy it then.

Well, I had been in the frame of mind that runs "don't even mention the word 'Christmas' again until November!!"

However, I'm feeling quite inspired to go shopping now.

I'll be particularly looking out for reduced mincemeat.

Delia has a recipe for a last minute Christmas mincemeat cake. It allows you to make a Christmas/rich fruit cake which is ready to eat within the space of a couple of days (including time spent soaking the other ingredients).

with a few jars of mincemeat from the sales, you could make cakes for gifts next Christmas. Or several rich fruit birthday cakes if you're from a family which just loves rich fruit cakes!

Ahh you lot are a bunch after my own heart :j
I too have bought all the tags, bows, paper and cards anyone could possibly need, all ready for next year.
My only problem is that I can get carried away with myself and buy too many presents in the sales just because they are good bargains-I had some left at the end of this last year that simply didn't suit anyone so I need to rein myself in a bit this time when the Boots 75% off sale comes round!!
I have spent a £10 boots voucher I got from Valued Opinions on presents too so technically those were free!
I'm afraid to say I will be re-gifting some things too, MIL was spectacular this year in buying me things that were just a million miles away from me (including a blu-ray when we don't have a player....) So those things will be Ebayed freeing up funds, or they will be re-gifted to others as birthday presents or given to family and friends if they want them
