I buy the big tubs of mincemeat for about a pound from Mr T, exp oct the following year and saved a fortune as I bake mince pies as teacher pressies in cellopane (2 boys and about 9 teachers between them as one goes to special school). Must have made about 100 out of two of these big tubs, how many mince pies did I eat? Not one! I was too busy baking.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Best items to get in the sales for next Xmas ?
- Lights, decorations, wrapping, cards and tags
- Anything in sealed jars (whatever the sell by date, as long as it stays sealed, it should be ok,) so pickles, jam, marmalade etc.
- Church candles (can be melted down to make your own if you are into 'crafty' things)
- Gift packs of smellies (often half price)
- Lip salve (have seen some great half price offers recently)
Ironically I missed all the best offers this year, due to the 'flu that's going round  so no specifics sadlyBut the above are on my 'watch' list every year.
SMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)0 -
I got 6 Accessorize necklaces.... all half price (£6). All us girls like a good make of necklace and with the make printed on clasp whoever I give to will think I spent a fortune! Am not just a pretty face!
And I got makeup brushes, makeup kits and nail care kits from Boots... all half price (£4-£8).... perfect for my daughter's mates birthdays, especially when I get told at last minute that they need a pressie!0 -
I was in Wilkos today and even though we don't celebrate Christmas, I picked up wrapping paper, just nice shiny stuff without pattern so I can use it for anything. Got some nice 'smelly' gift sets for 74-98p each.
Sainsbury's had some Science Museum gifts which I snapped up at half price to keep for Eid pressies.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I do all the usual buying half price Christmas cards etc. Last July I bought half price baby/toddler clothes that will fit them this next summer and gave them as Christmas presents. The children are too young to knoe and their parrents were very pleased with them as they are all on tight budgets. I can buy them toys when they get a little older.0

Have bought lots of cards all less than half price so kids can send to all their class mates, but DONT keep them in the loft. They will all seal up!!:j:j Also wrapping paper, Wilkinsons now have theirs at 25p for 8m. I wont pay more than 25p a roll. Also some bits and pieces for kids stockings/presents. Like to look towards end of Jan when the shops are desperate to get rid of anything left. Havent found any super reduced christmas puds yet but have my eye on some.:j:jEcomumm :wave:0

bought some packs of charity xmas cards in Mr Ts today, cute kittens on one pack and winter wonderland on the other, only about 80p for 30 (was £2.99 I think). only thing is I opened them up to have a nose and on the back Mr T mentions the charities they are supporting for 2010! I only bought them for the kids friends (60 children - 2 classes) so thats ok, hoping parents think are leftovers from last Xmas. Only thing is went mad and bought 120 for 2 years worth which is pushing it a bit! think will have to pass on half to friends, feel too silly taking them back, though doesn't usually stop me!:rotfl:0

Oh i miss the UK for its fantastic post christmas sales
I havent brought a lot this year in the sales here as Im still using up cards and crackers i have brought previous years. I did however buy 20 gift boxes for $10, they are really sturdy with lids, some red and some green. Hubs and I have decided to re use these every year for our gifts to each other to save wasting paper and money.
I also managed to get a new 6 ft christmas tree from kmart, reduced from $200 to $48 and some decorations which were $3 each down to 35c
