The neutradol thingy? I just chuck mine in the bit where the muck collects, I never attach it to any pipes or anything. Seems to smell just as nice. :)
Yes - it seemed to stop stuff flying around - and all the dog fur ended up in one place on the filter thingie. I shall use them in the Miele bagged one tho :)

I've not had a Dyson for years - but I'm guessing this is louder. It reminds me of how hoovers used to sound! And yes cats do run when it starts up - think it even gave the neighbour a scare. But it's a good incentive to get the job done quick cos the noise drives you mad a bit.:o

But for dog and cat fur free carpet - any noise is ok :j

My parrot went mad went I turned the hoover on for the first time!!!

    so what was your verdict??

i love it but it may be the fact my old tone of an upright was well past it lol the vax has definatly made my life much easier.
  • I have just reserved one of these as it has good reviews and is well priced. My jack russell's hair is a nightmare so I hope this does the trick!
  • Anyone have any opinions on the cylinder one? The cat hair on my stairs is ridiculous ! I have mostly laminate with a few rugs.

It seems better on carpets and rugs than laminate, but still not bad. I'm going to keep it upstairs where I have mostly carpets and keep my older one downstairs which isn't so good on carpets, but ok on laminate.

I think it's quite quiet, I can hear the phone ring downstairs when I amupstairs with it on but can't with my old one.
  • Did anyone look at the cylinder one that's a model up? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4064169/Trail/searchtext%3EVAX.htm

The main difference is the capacity is a fair bit smaller, but the vax itself is more compact too and it stores the tools (and has a bigger variety too)

Thanks people just picked up mine today and I am very impressed. Easy to put together, picks up brilliantly and love the attachments. It is a bit noisy and harder to push due to the strong suction on the hoover but for £39.99 I think it is brilliant. :)
  • I am thinking about this and have reserved one but says not available until monday. I have loads of carpet in my 1st and 2nd floor flat and was wondering how people have found it on stairs? The carpet is a dark green and I have a dog.

Bought another one which I'll leave boxed up ready for our house move in the spring. Did our mattresses with it too and it brought loads out. Done our carpets 3 times now and they look so much better than before
