Decided to buy this vacuum, we live in a rented house and the one supplied was broken last time we used it so needed to buy one to replace it. It's so good I've ordered another one so that I can take it to the new house when we move.

I've been looking at Ideal World recently as they've had a rather expensive one which showed all dirt and fluff etc which was picked up on supposedly clean carpets. I'm so pleased I didn't buy one as this Vax is in my opinion, just as good. Having vacuumed 6 rooms I was amazed at what it picked up, loads of hairs, really disgusting stuff so would certainly recommend the Vax as it's thoroughly cleaned our home.

hey linzi, well I picked up the cylinder version today for £39.99, I have some pros and cons for ya:

    Pros:
much, much easier to assemble that the upright version, under five minutes, as it only comes in three pieces.
The turbo brush is excellant, it took up alot of hair not noticable to the naked eye.
    very, very light weight
    easy peasy in operating
easy to empty, simply pick up the dirt canister, hold it over the bin, and open the bottom door.

    cons:
although it has the tools, none are fitted on the machine, so you need to carry them with you, and store hem somewhere, where you can find them.
The wire is much, much shorter than my miele vacum cleaner.
The turbo brush could be alot bigger
does not feel expensive, as in it feels cheap at times

I would not pay £100 for this product, but £40 is not bad, I am keeping mine

Got my Vax yesterday and i love it, it picked up an amazing amount of dust from my rug

Million times better than my previous, a Panasonic. One thing though, do you have to attach the hose everytime you use it? Seems a bit of a faff. I haven't explored that far with it yet.

Brought this approx 10 days ago. It is light, easy to use and does pick up well.

Only gripe is the power lead is quite short and you cannot adjust the height for carpet and floors.

I dont think it is worth the £99.99 original price tag but def worth £40.

Used the one we bought again last night - still really pleased. I tried using one of those scented Neutrodol things in it but it seemed to interfere with the flow of it. For £40 it's brought up the pile on our carpet really well - better than anything we've ever used.

Shame it can't be used on hard floors (I didn't notice that either) as I was hoping to still use it when we get laminate. It will be relocated upstairs then.

But if you have an older relative - this is really lightweight. The sound reminds me of how hoovers used to sound (yes noisy) but hey it works so small price to pay for results.

The neutradol thingy? I just chuck mine in the bit where the muck collects, I never attach it to any pipes or anything. Seems to smell just as nice. :)
