hey linzi, well I picked up the cylinder version today for £39.99, I have some pros and cons for ya:

    Pros:
much, much easier to assemble that the upright version, under five minutes, as it only comes in three pieces.
The turbo brush is excellant, it took up alot of hair not noticable to the naked eye.
    very, very light weight
    easy peasy in operating
easy to empty, simply pick up the dirt canister, hold it over the bin, and open the bottom door.

    cons:
although it has the tools, none are fitted on the machine, so you need to carry them with you, and store hem somewhere, where you can find them.
The wire is much, much shorter than my miele vacum cleaner.
The turbo brush could be alot bigger
does not feel expensive, as in it feels cheap at times

I would not pay £100 for this product, but £40 is not bad, I am keeping mine

thank for the info i picked 1 up yesterday the other half has lifted it out this mornin so am gonna give it a good test n wiz round the house with it lol the main con for me is it doesnt store the tools but i quess i cant complain much at £40 lol

VERY hard to get out of the box ! The poly stuff goes everywhere and hurt my back trying to pull the last half out. Easy to put together. The BLOWING of air shoots out of it when you hoover is like a flipping tornado. It picked up really well tho, and as its for just for the outhouse and kennels hoover, its ok for that. Sticking to my Dyson, for house, only cost £80 from Asda that did last year !!!
  • Picked up a cylinder model at the weekend - £40 or £20 once I used up vouchers ;)

Seems good, picks up well, construction seems reasonable, no complaints at all for the price of a budget supermarket brand hoover. No problems getting it out of the box either ;)
  • After reading on here I picked one up at the weekend from Argos too, had 15quid of vouchers that needed using so ended up costing £25.84 what a bargain! My old dyson was on a power breaker cos the electrics were a bit dodgy (its now gone off to be fixed).

This vac doesnt feel as good quality as my old vac but it does the job and I will be keeping it along with the dyson when its back from repairs. It got all the cat hairs up but its that noisey the cat almost hit the ceiling jumping off the sofa when i switched it on (and i wasnt anywhere near the poor moggy).

The only things I dont like are the cable not being long and the mini whirlwind that blows out of the back, but for the money its worth it and it picks up really well. It was a bit hard work on some of the thicker carpets (no adjustment) but i liked it and would recommend it and for 40quid its well worth the money (now off to empty out all the hairs n fluff....) x

Really tempted to get one of these and have one reserved at my local Argos. Would anybody be able to tell me how this compares noise wise with a dyson as I have one at the moment and would like to know if it is a lot nosier than an upright dyson older model one or about the same. Many Thanks all

I've not had a Dyson for years - but I'm guessing this is louder. It reminds me of how hoovers used to sound! And yes cats do run when it starts up - think it even gave the neighbour a scare. But it's a good incentive to get the job done quick cos the noise drives you mad a bit.:o

But for dog and cat fur free carpet - any noise is ok :j
