Thanks OP. Just read the online reviews - always look at the latest ones and then search/view by lowest ratings. And only gripe is the length of the power lead so nothing too major. So I've reserved one. :)

I had the swift version of this too and it is great, agree with others thats its heavy tho. My only greivance is the belts, mine burnt out quite a bit. Vax were fab tho and did send me 2 free replacements but im sure I had a faulty model as 6 months later the brush stopped spinning, apparently the motor had burnt out, again Vax were great and offered to fix it or replace with a different model (same price or dearer at my cost). I went for a cylinder this time as 6 months of faults was more than I could take and put me off uprights a little. But they are fab at picking p dog hairs!!
  • I bought this hoover yesterday (without looking at this thread first!) and it is very good. My old hoover was a very cheap basic one and I don't think it was doing the job properly as my carpet looks amazing now where before it looked a bit dull. Only downside to it is that the suction is so good it's tiring hoovering a whole house so if you are very frail you would find this difficult. Yes you do have to assemble it but I didn't find it difficult and it didn't blow up so I've obviously done it right! Recommended vacuum cleaner!!

Thanks - reserved one to pick up tomorrow :)

I usually spend ages trying to get all the dog hairs from the carpet (I have 2 white dogs)!

We've had ours about 3 years so I think yours must have been a dud.
Sorry forgot to keep the name, for whoever asked about noise/exhaust. Yes it is quite noisy (never thought it mattered myself), and it does blow air out but it's cool air so I quite like that.
I'm quite 'fragile' (have a duff shoulder) and it is hard, but it's much more difficult with a hoover that doesn't do the job properly. I can only do a room at a time anyway, this one really does the job well.

Got mine today and I love it! Really light as well! Bit loud and it scared my parrot but all in all I think it's cheap and cheerful :P

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm really pleased with mine too - it is noisy, but cleans well. Can't believe how much it picked up from a supposedly clean carpet! :T
