  • why go back for more??????? tescos annoy me sometimes doesnt mean i stop going there! just because they do one !!!! up doesnt make you stop using a company, and i thought maybe this one would be a bit better. that was the first time i had used the company with the cushions and then when this came up i decided to go with it because it looked like a good deal. a company as big as this youd expect their customer service to be better, and i didnt realise that the balloon flight was a complete misprice as it was soon after the accident where 2 people died so i expected the sales to fall and i doubt the ballooning flight businesses are doing too good so i guess i was naive!! some companies mess orders up, but it doesnt mean i wouldnt order from them again because there is that chance that it was a one-off. unfortunately with very having read 3 threads of their poor behaviour and 2 of them i have been directly affected by its safe to say i wont order from them again.. but yes, you are missing the point, it isnt about the refunds entirely, you are missing the bigger picture which is they have lied and not sent out e mails as they should have done, and given some people some form of compensation and others not. this is the real issue here for a well-known company to not be dealing with it in the same manner. i would of expected businesses to have some sort of action plan when this sort of thing happens where they are clear on what they aim to do, what they aim to do havent been done so i have lost ALL trust in them!
Who would say I couldn't make you mine? You were mine since th' beginning of time. Who would say we were far apart? You ever reside in the core of my heart?

  • Sigh.....

With absolute respect, YM (because I am not argumentative and hate confrontations!!!), several pages ago, I stated quite clearly that if the response and handling of this situation was indicative of the companies general performance and behaviour, then I wouldn't be ordering from them again, despite finding some very reasonably priced bedding that I liked. (See post on page twelve from nearly a week ago now!) So I am not missing yours or anybody elses 'point'. Far from it, I vote with my feet and wallet.

I also, in this previous post, mentioned how others had been particularly aggrieved by the response of other companies to the point of court action - in particular the water butt B&Q saga which resulted in some customers getting their bargain...and the Pixmania TV saga - in which everyone bottled court, despite the T&C being favourable. This wasn't because I thought it was justified - more to indicate the lengths some will go to to get a result over these clear pricing errors. I re-iterate, these prices to anyone sensible were clearly vastly underpriced glitches - not sale bargains. I can't get 2 train tickets to London with the London Eye thrown in for the price of the Paris trip!

Incidently, I haven't spent a penny in Tescos (despite there being several near to me) since being horrified by their extortionately priced sugar (I mentioned that here too!). It is possible to do grocery shopping without going to Tescos. But if someone posts up here a bargain worthy of my attention (and I can take Tescos for some of their huge profits too) then I will be in my car like a shot!!!

It is possible to choose which company to try to take advantage of when it comes to glitches/bargains.

Happy bargain hunting to all. xxx

    Just would like to say....

I have no previous experience with Very, so did not see any reason to steer clear. I am also fairly new to these boards and this was the first misprice I had taken part in. I have a current issue with Littlewoods, but thats regarding a missing order and non communication over that.
You might laugh at this, but I did not see this as a misprice. I had no idea how much hot air balloon flights were normally, and the last time I went to France was on a day trip with the school 25 years ago. I actually dithered before purchasing these experience days as I wasnt even sure if it was a bargain or not. I took the time to read all the comments on the thread and then when I realised it was a bargain price I purchased it. I was now aware at this point that it was a possible misprice but no-one seemed sure due to the number of misprices there were. I didnt purchase it as a gift so wasnt inconvenienced in that way.
However.....once they were cancelled due to being apparently (!) sold out I was irritated due to the Very rep stating people would be contacted, and then not hearing anything, and then even more irritated due to some people being give 'preferential' (for want of a better word) treatment by receiving emails promising compensation. I wasnt expecting anything, but now I do as some people have been given something. And I dont feel its wrong to expect that, even if you do.
Would I shop with Very again? Possibly not. It does depend on whether I hear from them. If I dont they can shove their bargains up their rear end.
Please God, help me stop spending!

    d'oh!!

just had a look at my emails again. all of them say 25% OF the original price. so for example....balloon flight for 2 costs £349.00. 25% of that is £87.25. that's still a bargain for a balloon flight for 2. deduct £50 and it's only £1.25 more than the original glitch!

has anybody contacted very.co.uk to confirm whether it is 'of' or 'off'??

Don't tell me they're still making mistakes!! Definitely going to be 25% off

Can anyone tell me if they've had an email from Additions Direct - and did they offer you a discount or the £50 gift card?? I ordered through them. Thanks

    Happy moneysaving all.

This has turned out to have been a great grab it in my opinion. Its cost nothing, and were all going to end up with at least 1 £50 off voucher.

So we didn’t get the experience at a fraction of the actual cost. But we should have all known that this was too much of a misprice for Very to be able to honour.

A free £50 is still great though, and nobody has to use Very.co.uk again, so harping on about how rubbish they are is getting boring, we all agree with that I am sure.

I don’t understand why anyone is complaining at all, have some patience before shouting about not getting your voucher, we will all end up with one once they have worked their way through all the orders which may take a week or two. Its not a big deal.

Not guaranteed.... I ordered the paris trip after seeing it on here (4/1). Knew it was a misprice but nothing ventured, as they say. I paid by debit card (never had an account and didn't want one)

Wasn't surprised that they didn't honour the deal but was a bit put out that they took the money then held it for a couple of days before refunding... Anyway, for me, no personal contact, no sign of an email promising me a £50 gift card, just a sour taste in my mouth about a company that I'll never use again
  • i for one have emailed and complained and asked for the £50 and 25% of the cost, dont ask dont get

think it rather adds insult to injury if some get offered it and some dont, think id actually go for it for 25 of the price.

could we all post on whether we are sucessful or not with the £50 and 25%?
