Apologies Sally, I must have been replying to those in view at the same time you posted yours. You are really going great guns and those stats are amazing!!! Congratulations on having come so far and having done so well!!! 3 weeks 2 days is absolutely terrific given that you've done it on CT!!!! :T:T:T I am so delighted that your sleep isn't being disrupted now, a great bonus, especially when you're heavily pregnant. When your little treasure is old enough for you to tell her that you "USED" to smoke, she'll be tickled pink to think you did it all for her as well as for YOU!!! The pride you have for you now is what she'll be feeling for you then....her Mum...her Hero!!! :A Splendid news Sally and what an accomplishment...and that's just so far!!! :j:j:j :D

Day 2 nearly done! Im finding it quite difficult but managed to get through. Im hoping as the days go on it gets a little easier. Day 3 tomorrow just thinking one day at a time at the moment but am determined to keep going. Good luck to everyone.

It does get easier, much easier, the turning point for me came very early, halfway through the 3rd day, when I realised the only thing I had given up is smoking, up until then I was feeling like my life had ended, everything I loved gone. Which is of course all tripe all I don't do now is put something in my mouth and set fire to it, everything else I loved before is still there and hopefully I will get longer to enjoy it.

An absolutely marvellous post, Jenny!!! :T:T:T No one could have put that better. Please everyone who's thinking about quitting, read the above quote from Jenny, it tells you perfectly about what you might feel like - then what you very soon come to realise! You're gaining and never, ever losing!

Absolutely brilliant, Jenny, thank you for thinking it all out so clearly and honestly!

Hiya Caz!!!!! :hello: SOOOO good to see you back with us! :D I've been wondering about you so much over the last week, so I'm thrilled to bits to see you back. So sorry to hear about the abscess though, I can honestly sympathise having had one several years ago and so bally painful!! :( It shouldn't be too bad with having it out, I had 2 taken out - one each side at the same time - a couple of years ago, but it wasn't as bad as I'd thought. I loathe the hairdressers (a childhood thing) and would sooner go to the Dentist any day!! Does that make me weird - or you?!! So many congratulations on having got a got to a MONTH away from fags, Caz and on earning yourself the title of a non-smoker!!!! :T:T:T I nearly PMd you a week ago, but was frightened it might appear pushy (as if!), but so pleased to see you again Caz!:j

    Hi Sue
Thanks for the support hun [not forgetting everyone here :T] I have a problem with anyone touching my head except Dkids and Dgk's so very similar !!If that makes us weird, well tough ,and no, you could never be called pushy...ever !

    Well done everyone, :T

  • Hi all,

Sorry for not posting this last few days, but had the dreaded flu - I can only think how bad it would have been if I had still been on the dreaded weed.

Anyway I am currently not using any patches at all now (I have some in stock in case of emergencies). I have my third appointment with the Smoking counsellor tomorrow - hopefully I will blow less than 2 on the CO test machine this time (both previous readings have been 2! - probably because I have a 8 mile trip to the GP surgery where I see the counsellor).

I have to say on some recentdays I have completely forgotten about smoking, even with my morning cup of coffee. At other times I have a quick craving which soon passes. I haven't found need to use the empty inhalator either in the last week, so hopefully I am on the right track. Sugar free polo's help as well at the odd time.

The biggest thrill will be tomorrow though as it means I will have gone through the whole of January smoke free. I never thought I would last one day let alone whole month. The support on here has been tremendous. Many thanks all.

To those other quitters still in the first few days, it does get better as time goes on - and I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever be able to say that!!

    Hi,
Nearly at my 4 week mark, I can hardly believe it - 1397 cigs not smoked!
Well done elfen, we knew you could do it.
I still have times when I would like a cigarette, but they are getting less often.
  • Hi everyone :hello: thought I'd touch base - have been reading & thanking but my posting attention has been diverted sorry

Lovely to see you've managed a day smoke free elfen! So happy for you :j

DDee congratulations! so pleased for you! (also can you tell me how you get the annimations you do???)

sal your baby must be putting in an appearence soon :D

ok today I was interviewing some ppl who are being made redundant for 2 positions I have vacant and it was quite tense as we were so aware that these ppl are about to loose their jobs and wanting to get it right - and it is quite draining interviewing ppl who aren't very good in interviewing - and for the first time in ages I kept wanting a cig - all throughout the day was tough stuff....

Think I'm gonna go and have a lovely bubble bath of unwind (can't drink currently due to meds and no longer smoke, too exhausted to go for a run so what do I do to relax these days???)

No sign of Az or kiwi over the last few days? Hope they're staying strong x

Hope you feel better after your mentally exhausting day!

Just hopping on quick to answer your question.

If I see them on other people's posts, I highlight them, right click, copy and then I open Outlook Express, select new message and paste. I then save that into the drafts folder..............whenever I see another I like I save it into that message. Hope that makes some kind of sense. (Obviously if I want to use 1 of the saved smilies I just copy & paste) :D

Tally, you've been amazing throughout the past 4 plus weeks, leading us all to think, as you, that it would be terribly difficult for you to achieve the dream you so sought - yet look at you now and at just how far you've come!!!! You've been brilliant throughout and whenever you've needed help you've said what the problem was and taken any advice suggested - and look where all that and sheer determination has got you!!! Many, many congratulations, Tally!!! :T:T:T:T You've been wonderful throughout and I don't think any of us would ever doubt you could keep right on going and achieve quit status!!! Keep as far away as possible from traffic as possible...take some good breaths of definite fresh air before going in and pray the CM recorder will work in your favour...along with crossing you fingers! We had a girl in 2008 who was actually accused of still smoking, but her problem was that she worked close to exhaust fumes! All good wishes with it, Tally, please let us know how you get on. Very well done indeed, Tally!!! I am so very thrilled for you! :D

Fantastic news, sheep-Ali!!!! :T:TAll in all you really have to be praised for how wonderful you've done, but determined you're remaining - I hope you're getting so very proud of yourself, treat yourself to something nice, you've so deserved it!!!

Hi there DMN and it's sooooo good to see you!!! I knew you'd been thanking so I knew you'd been visiting us all, but it's good that you've come back to say exactly how long it is - and what a time too!!! Many congratulations to you also, DNM!!!!! :T:T:T:T What a day and no wonder the feelings came, but you proved you were ok. You may be exhausted (no wonder), but keep on with the bubble baths, and when you can afford it, treat yourself to something special, you really do deserve that at least!!!

No doubt Kiwi will be back on again tomorrow, but haven't seen hide nor hair of Az or Mat for over a week (Az) and not seen Mat for a good couple of weeks. I'm sure they're quietly remaining non-smokers and not in need of any encouragement, at least that's what I'm really hoping is what's happening with them.

Hiya DD, now there was me wondering exactly the same yesterday! Thanks a lot for the answer, though I thought maybe it was a different way in which to get them actually 'on' to the posts. Ya live 'n learn eh DD!

Excellent results for everyone! Stay strong, firm and know you CAN and WILL get through it all.
