    Hi all

Im now at 48 hours of escaping the fags after reading Allen Carr's Easyway. I do not have the feeling of wanting a cigarette but I am experiencing nausea and dizziness and just plain off colour. Is this normal??

Sue has given you some fantastic advice already, but I thought the following may help you too.

I posted these links before, but not on this new thread. The top one explains about blood sugar/dizzyness etc

The site makes scary - but effective - reading.

    Hello all
    Happy Weekend to you all!
I am on day 7 and on day 2 of no patches. Again it feels easier without them, rather than with them. I seem to remember whern I gave up a few years agi that I only managed about 4 days or so with a patch on - maybe its my freaky body! I managed 18 months back then - so Im hoping for at least 3 years this time lol...if not FOREVER!
Hope everyone is doing well and thinking about you all!

    Sally xxxxx

I have been there Salski and keep thinking and wondiering if it will be the same for me this time around; last time I quit with patches (too many years ago to remember when) but I don't think I lasted a whole week on them either before I decided I didn't need them. I woke up this morning from dreaming that I was being told off for not using my patches, I've not even started yet. :rotfl:

I must say the last time I used patches they were quite the new thing and incredibly expensive (more expensive than cigarettes) and that was a huge motivation to get off of them as quickly as possible. This time I've got eight weeks supply for the cost of two prescriptions, so I can at least relax about the costs.

Today I am making a big batch of hummus and carrot sticks in preparation for next week's munchies. I've also read that drinking water through a straw is recommended to help with the sucking thing, so I'm going to have a rummage around and see if I can find some, if not I shall pop to the shop and get some.

This time tomorrow I will be an ex smoker. :T

I'm having a bit of a horrid night. Both DH and I have hit a bit of a wall. But we will get through it. I think it helps having two of us in the same situation.

Hope everyone is getting on ok tonight x
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

It probably will help both of you being in the same boat, and you've been two weeks!! You're doing great. Just put it in perspective. Quitting nicotine is tough, it's the most addictive substance out there, and your body is adjusting so much and recreating itself and making itself better now you're not putting poison in it. No wonder you're somewhat discombobulated!

We've all been there and will be again, stay strong and I know you'll get through :)

Hi there Sally and well done on your first week free of fags!!!!! By heck you are doing VERY well....going with what your body wants which is not to use the patches! I'll bet you're really chuffed you decided to leave them off now. Go for the FOREVER part, Sally then you'll never have to go through this again....and you'll hang onto your health!

Azkaban Sue you are 'naughty'. I didn't think to 'whirl him round' ;)

'ere you're slipping aren't you Az, it says that he whirled round....so I just saw - the obvious!!!

I'm not so bad thanks, Ross, though last weekend wasn't so good, but I was just the same, thinking of them all and how far each had come..it's inevitable I'm sure.

Thanks for those, DD, a great help.

Kiwisaver, add some Ice Poles to your hummus, carrot sticks and water, and if straws aren't to be found yet, just sipping at a glass that's always there by your side is a great way. Aside from that.....all the very best from tomorrow on!!!!!

Keep going, Penelope and DH and stay strong! You're over 2 weeks away from evil little sticks that do such big things to us and you've done yourselves sooo very proud so I know jolly well that you'll push your way passed this hiccup. Keep smoke-free, where's the point in not doing so. Use all the little tips you know of to help you stay firm. All best wishes to you both. Just a thought....how about a love-in??! :kisses2:Well, it would distract you both....and raise your endorphins. :D:j:D

Aha, Jammy...like-minded on the sex front then! ;) Well, it shows we're thinking of them both. :rotfl:

Have a lovely Sunday everyone - keep dry IF it's possible.

    Day 10 champix

    hi everyone

Have struggled today, not sure why, managed to get through it which I am pleased about. Still taking it 1 day at a time, I do feel like I have more energy and have decided to spring clean my wardrobes as I'm sure I can smell smoke on everything. I find the cranberry juice helps too.

Dh took me & ds2 out this evening to local curry house. The food tasted fabulous and ds2 who is 10 ate everything and even tried madras!

Sorry I can't remember everybodys names. Well done to everyone that is succeeding and those that are thinking of escaping the cigs(as someone else posted). Take care

    Still going strong here.

Playing football tomorrow for first time in 5 months and I am hoping my lungs will be super clean compared to before. If they aren't they'll get a good workout tomorrow. 90 minutes of sheer hell hahaha

Hope everyone's weekend is going well ?
