The Giving Up Smoking Thread - Part 3

Thought I'd pop in with an update.
In exactly half an hour (how sad am I) I will be 3 weeks without the tobacco. I feel great, smell great and my running partner is a tad miffed cause she can't keep up.
Tonight is a 20 min run without stopping, only ever managed this on a treadmill once and threw up at the end. Running outside is harder but I'm sure I can do it now.
We have a 10k for two local hospices and a 5k for cancer research in July to aim for so far.
Big hugs to all those stopping the evil weed, which ever method you are choosing, my fella changed his nicotine habit for a chuppa chups habit 10 years ago, anything is better than the nasties!Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

Your question is unclear. Do you require a place to buy cigarettes online? Asda should do that.
Or do you require a e-cig site that sells to under 18's. I don't think I know of one.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Woohoo I did it!
20 mins flat out, no stops, on tarmac. 2 miles run according to my run route planner. No stitch, no wheezing and felt like I could have carried on. I'm well chuffed!
I'm on track for under 30 mins for 5k goal, with 10 & 1/2 weeks training to go.
Thank you lord for giving me these lungs! I feel like I am using them properly for the first time.
I know this is not a fitness thread but while smoking I could never do this!
For those who don't know me I have recently found out I am at a high risk of bowel cancer (over 4 generations) and I'm currently watching my father very painfully dying from this very cruel disease. My aims over the last year and continuing into the future are to reduce my risk and raise money for research for future sufferers.
So far I have lost 3 stones in weight (from obese to normal category), reduced red meat consumption, increased home grown organic veg intake, reduced alcohol to under recommended levels, stopped smoking, started exercising just above the recommended levels and raised £150 which is rising daily.
A massive thank you to lotus who was an absolute brick during my first week of stopping smoking, without you I would have given up by now. Also a big thank you to everyone else who has been supportive and non judgmental of my chosen methods and lifestyle.Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500
