Seems a bit thin on the ground at the moment Mazzini. Don't beat yourself up over Silk Quit it's a great tool but means nothing until you get some time smoke free behind you.

Ok you are again on the road to be a non smoker, keep focused, you can beat it.

    Day 3 Patches/Oral spray

Doing not bad, had a couple of hairy moments, but still hanging in. House has never been so clean tho, not since I last stopped smoking :rotfl: The hands in water effect really works.

Having a few hairy moments today, so think I'm gonna run myself a hot bubble bath and take my book up with me to chillax a wee while :)

Keeping busy is def the key - i walked my dogs into the floor in the first couple of weeks:rotfl:
Try a new hobby or interest something you can focus on as that will help the sneaky smoky thought bog off!
Day 3 is good - Day 4 will be better - just keep it up you're doing fab

:T:T:T well done mazza111 I found the first 3 days to be the hardest and then it did seem to get a little easier every day after that :)

32 days for me or one month and a bit :D still struggle at times I cant lie but its worth it i guess :o Definitely worth it from a financial point of view in the 32 days i have been off it seems I have not spent £270 :money::money: thats really scary
Strangely not seeing loads more money in the bank though but I guess when I stop eating food like its going out of fashion then I will

good luck everyone still on the quitting route :)

Well done mazza, first 3 days are the toughest. Remember that you'll only need to clean that nicotine film off everything once, rest of the time it'll be pure clean dust:rotfl:

Hope you had a good day on saturday, guess today (sunday) will be day 5 for you :T

Have a great smoke-free weekend everyone.

Sorry Maz, had a few rough days, but a hopefully all's well now.

Good to see you up and away again, and as Denis says, try to forget the SQ readings; time to move on and try and stay off fags here on. As you can see, everyone is behind you and willing you on.

Well done on blitzing the house again, that's the way through it as it takes up our time and thoughts. You were bound to get a few 'hairy moments', quitting's never been easy - BUT it can be done!!!

    All the best, Maz

    Sue x

Thanks o much for helping out, Denis! You still away? If so I hope the weather really lovely for you. :D

    Sue x

By golly you're doing marvellously, Chrissie and the time seems to have flown by, possibly because you've been so busy and determined, what a great combination!

    Sue x

Well done NTC and what great savings!!! :j

    Sue x

Getting very close to TWO months then, Money maker!! I won't say anymore until you reach it, but you really are doing soooo well. ;)

All best wishes for everyone! Keep heading for that goalpost as it truly is really wonderful once you get there and know you really have QUIT!!!!!

    Wishing everyone onward.

Hi everyone :) Welcome to all the newbies :)
Sorry I haven't been on here for a little while - I am still smoke free :j It's been over a month now - 5 weeks on Friday :)
Last Friday I went out with friends from work - I thought that would be hard but it really wasn't :) I even went outside with the smokers and wasn't tempted at all! In fact I honestly really didn't want one :D
I walked 5 miles with hubby yesterday and definitely noticed the difference in my fitness level :)
I have been waking up with a bit of a tight chest in the last few days - it literally disappears with ten minutes or so, I've got a bit of a sniffle so I'm wondering if that's to do with it? I do think that if I was still smoking that the cold would have gone to my chest and I would be in a world of pain now mind.
I'm so very, very glad that I said goodbye to my enemy - he kept chasing me down and would have probably killed me in the end and I'm very glad I put a stop to him and sent him packing :)
Keep at it all - it feels so good to be in control :)

I fell last night and had one. Back to start again. Had another trip to A&E with the DD, another bleeding dislocation of her knee. So I nicked a barlinnie special (extra thin rollie for those who don't know) from the fella. It was horrible but I still smoked it  After having the wrong leg examined by the locum at the hospital, she got strapped up (again) and told she would grow out of it

It's getting frustrating being told the same thing every time she dislocates now. Stupid knee won't even stay in the joint atm. We're 99% sure she has HMS/HEDS but docs don't like diagnosing it, so each time we're told she'll out grow it. This has probably been her worse year, dislocation left knee, broken left ankle, now a right knee that won't stay in after a few dislocations. Just get so frustrated that I can't do anything to help her.

Anyhoo! Onward and upwards. Not going to let my little blip stop me.

Think the thing that's holding me back more is the knees, if I could go for a good long walk (and avoid shops), instead I'm tending to do more housework that involves water. Don't think about smoking when hands are wet. And I'm sure I'm turning into a prune with all the time I'm spending in the bath :rotfl:

    Hi all

newbie here - smoke free since 23 feb.

I gave up using the Alan Carr Easy way

... best thing about the book - encourages you to smoke whilst reading it!

I think he is right to say nicotine replacement therapy keeps you hooked - i have given up loads of times (patches, gum inhalers - always stayed addicted to nictine ... so ventually always failed)

of course might fail this time too!

so far its worked am sure there have been lots of threads before on it - but have not read the 192 pages!

    good luck to everyone.

    Good morning all :)

mazza - sounds like you've had a very frustrating time :( I would definitely keep at them - although I'm not a doctor I personally don't think joints regularly popping out sounds normal to me and I would be questioning it if that was happening to any of mine.
I love the idea of keeping your hands wet to avoid the cigarettes, lol!

    jwarren66 Welcome :hello:
I'm going to get that Alan Carr book for hubby I think? We are waiting for delivery of E cigs for him but I'm wondering if the book would be good for him to read while he's waiting? Any advice please?

Hope you're all feeling healthier and happy today :)

    Hi guys

Think it's 20 weeks tomorrow - the weeks are flying by so fast i've opted for the above - its easier to remember:D

Jenny you're doing great - keep it up - its really noticeable when you do a lot of walking n stuff - i use to puff and wheeze like an old pair of bellows..lol - why did we ever think that was a good thing??

Aww Mazza - lots of hugs hun - you're having it rough - keep on with the quitting though - cos even if you slip and have one it's still far less than what you would have if you gave up giving up - if you see what i mean - stay strong and don't let those docs fob you off .xx

Jwarren - well done you:T - and welcome to the mad house;)

Hope everyone has a great smoke free week

    Hugs
