If folk have said you've lost weight, Erme, they why do you now feel you need to go on a diet?? Surely it's not just because we were talking on here about some, not all, people having problems with weight after stopping smoking!
Sensible eating is key to losing weight and diets aren't necessary at all.
I agree with what you're telling her, karmacookie, fact is we've been through this a few times since Erme stopped smoking fags. Surely though, if folk still ingest nicotine they're not hit in the same way as those who've stopped, are they?
Be sensible Erme and wait til the TOTM has past.

It's not just the nicotine that's the problem! When stopping smoking the body has to get rid of all the other toxins it has been used to! Some people will struggle more than others on whatever method they use to quit. I'm coping very well using an e-cig, i didn't cope well at all on patches or chewing gum, even though I still had my nicotine fix!
I'm not sure Sue what you mean about TTOM?
I think it's very important when going through any major change to look after one's self, and healthy regular meals and snacks should be high on the agenda.
I hope everyone is enjoying their smoke free Sunday!0 -
TOTM, karma, think cycle.
I see what you mean, agree with it as well. Enjoy the rest of Sunday.

@Sue.....Sorry don't get your attitude....
Half the reason I posted that on here was due to the fact that like there was talk of possible 'diet' sites being linked on here and what not. They are no more open to abuse than e-cig links. (in fact e-cig links less).....
If I calorie count I have max 1000 cals a day plus exercise. Simple. Often less than 600. I lose heaps. I have done this when smoking (substituting cigs for food) and when not. Doesn't make a huge amount of difference to my weight whether I smoke or not. Other factors may do but not that.
Some folk on here are honest....other's less so. Some folk are sly and PM the planet about their grievances or else report if every i is not dotted and every t not crossed Others have no one. Some folk are wolves dressed as lambs....

Morning fellow quitters
I hope you are all dong well, today is 3 weeks for me, it gets easier and easier every day and the thought of being smoke and poison free after all this time of being a pathetic, excuse making addict is fantastic3 weeks on Wednesday for my darling wife as well, she quit using just Allen Carr, for the first time in ages it feels as though life is finally moving in the right direction
The diet is going great as well, started last Monday weighed myself this orning and have lost a massive 8 pounds  Crikey smoke free and healthy all at the same time who would have thought it :rotfl::rotfl:
Still taking the Champix although am convinced I do not need them however don't want to tempt fate and stop taking them so will continue for now and then have a chat with the Doctor when I go for the final 4 week prescription. It is strange I feel as though I have complete control of the addiction now and cannot for the life of me understand why I allowed it to control me for so long  Oh well live and learn
That is it from me, I hope this post finds my fellow quitters well and succeeding in your own quests, stay strong and have a great week.

Well done UP . . . a huge achievement on your part. :T
I'd say that you're wise to continue with the Champix, I have heard of people in a similar position to yourself, stopping the medication and then falling back to cigarettes . . . I guess the prescribed course is there for good reason.
More as an aside, reference eating/smoking/vaping, the inclination to eat more is probably less so for Vapers, mainly because there's still the hand to mouth habit . . . and although we still have a nicotine hit, we don't have the chemicals contained in tobacco, that are well documented to contain appetite suppressants . . . and of course food tastes and smells so much better, without the nasties in the system.0 -

That's how I feel about the e-cig now. First three months or so couldn't have done without my 'new friends' but now I question if need it. But then I don't want to tempt fate.
I'd keep with the docs orders...you could be really chancing it otherwise...
Karma have eaten better today which I'm pleased about and not vaping so much and generally less grumpy....so pleased :j. Hated yesterday where I was over sensitive. Even bit one of the mods off the 'other board's' head off for no good reason. Feel awful about it now. But hey ho today is a new day...

YES you CAN, xmercx!!! You've got through 5 weeks and have done briliantly so now you know you can keep it up! :T Why wouldn't you wish to keep on going and get all the benefits that ex smokers enjoy! Are you saving the money you've not spent? If not then do try to do so as viewing a jar/pot with cash you would otherwise have set light to is terrific motivation!xmercx wrote:i have a job interview tomorrow am so nervous wish me luck.
I'll wish you all the very best possible for the job, however, luck is something you make for yourself!! IF you don't get it keep in mind that another job more suitable is waiting for you. Also, employers would naturally prefer to take on smoke-free employees!
Keep strong andNever give in to thoughts of "just one puff/cig won't hurt" as sadly, all too often it does!Sue xSealed Pot Challenge 001 My Totals = 08 = £163.95 09 = £315.78 10 = £518.80 11 = £481.87 12 = £694.53 13 = £1200.20! 14 = £881 15 = £839.21 16 = £870.48 17 = £871.52 18 = £800.00 19 = £851.022021=£820.26[/SizeGrand Totals of all members (2008 uncounted) 2009 = £32.154.32! 2010 = £37.581.47! 2011 = £42.474.34! 2012 = £49.759.46! 2013 = £50.642.78! 2014 = £61.367.88!! 2015 = £52.852.06! 2016 = £52, 002.40!! 2017 = £50,456.23!! 2018 = £47, 815.88! 2019 = £38.538.37!!!! :j0
