jacci I'm delighted to know the op is now going ahead as planned. Super news! All the best for a speedy recovery. :grinheart
prepareathome, your sister and her husband could gradually wean themselves off the nicorette chewing gum by using ordinary gum now and again..then a bit more and so on, it's doing them very little good keep ingesting nicotine all the time!!! All very best wishes to you to be free from nicotine just as soon as you're able!
Sue x
crazymum, I really can't begin to tell you just how delighted I am at how marvellously you've been doing!!!!!! To be free from both for all this time is almost incredible, you must be so very, very strong and that takes so much doing. You're heading on towards such good health and who could ask for more than that!!!!!
I'm not that special I promise you, I just used to get so terribly frightened of all the harm that fags could be doing to me....plus my Mother was a drinker and a smoker, so there you go! Freedom from both for anyone is something very precious to me so I simply want to help as much as is possible as I know how delighted I am to be free from any liking of nicotine! It hasn't had a hold over me for 13 years and 1 month and, if I can do it - anyone can!!!!
Keep very focused and want nothing but the best for yourself as YOU deserve it!!!
Sue xx
Oh very, very well done for you, Little bit dizzy - hubby too with a week!!!!!! :T:T:T Well, your thingummy doesn't lie so best start hunting for all that spends eh??!!!! Not to worry so long as it hasn't been spent on fags!!!
Sue x
You sound as though you're truly relishing your new found life, Sparticus which is wonderful news! Very well done on getting past 2 weeks!!! :T:T I love the idea of your 'Cash Not Ash' pot for when you treat yourself- I'll bet there will be a few more of them in folks' homes from now on!

There must be alot of people like you, not getting the best from their e-cig.
There is quite a big debate re how much nicotine you get from vaping, their are people who chain vape really high nicotine juice all day and say they have no problems with it, but say they couldn't smoke like that all day.
The latest idea is that you get far less than from a real cigarette, I'm sure I notice that if I don't exhale through my nose, I don't get a big a hit from the draw, but it's still often enough to keep me happy.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Well last Wednesday at 7am I smoked my last one but have found it not to bad except for one big problem. Since about Friday I have found each day I am getting more and more hungry and last night when getting weighed at SW I had gained 2 1/2lbs:mad:. Now no intention of buying cigs again ( I hope but certain none at moment) but what can I do to stop the weight gain - I already needed to lose 56lbs and now its gone up to 59lbs approx..........Today I woke up for first time in many years starving, I usually cannot eat before lunchtime. I know that is good but help what can I do before I gain more, extra exercise not an option as going through a tired phase so in bed a lot and no energy to even do a few mins on treadmillNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

FANTASTIC news Harri!!!!!!! :T:j:T It's amazing what can be achieved when we just put our minds to it and you certainly did that! I'm so very, very chuffed for you. Keep up the terrific work and keep saving, at this rate you'll soon be like our Davey who's netted himself a camera, laptop and is now looking ahead to a holiday abroad with his GF!!!
Very well done to you also, PhoenixDF, so another one set to succeed and inspire many along the way!!! :T:j:T It's so good to see folk gradually getting there. It'd be good if you pop back on every now and again..or stick with us if you like.
Well, I'm hoping all the housework's done crazymum and you feel happy with what meets the eye, I am as I had a load to do today, but very therapeutic as I'm sure you found. By the way, the toe's getting much better, thanks for that. :A
Lovely to see you FDM, even if it is fleetingly, it's always good to see folk!!
I think you're quite right about the inspiring, Spicy, the posts always inspire me, truly! I think I inspire my hubby too, he made me laugh this morning; only something fleeting and daft, but he expected me to go round one side of the car but I went round the other and the daft and almost helpless look on his face as he searched around for me who was right behind him was priceless! :rotfl: Oh bless him! We giggled all round T!sco!!! :kisses2:
So sorry prepareathome, whilst I'm pleased you haven't had a cigarette 'proper' it's hard for me to advise how to combat the tiredness and weight-gain when I know nothing about vaping! Normally when people get so tired it's just another side effect of the body adjusting to the lack of nicotine. Nicotine speeds up the metabolism to an unnaturally high level, which means that without the nicotine, your metabolism slows down to adjust. This causes the energy levels to drop, but it's only temporary soon returns.
However, as you're still using nicotine I don't know what the answer is! I know you also have Fibromyalgia and that isn't going to be helping you at present - which is why I thought you'd be far better off as you were on Sunday ~ thrilled as you'd reached day 4 ~ I do hope you can understand my predicament, I'd love to be able to help, but it's out of my hands which is another reason why I hate the fact that lotus-eater brought this here. So much is unknown with regard to the E-cig and why I recommended you to be cautious.
Very sorry indeed, perhaps you can find more help on the E-cig thread of MSE http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=1243625
I do hope things sort themselves out soon.
