Well I was eating about 1000 - maybe 600 calories when I got home :(...

Never miss breakfast...need it - good ole porridge...

Just cut back on everything else...

And have terrible heartburn...so along with eating more getting some cider vinegar and honey to treat it tomorrow (figure it's 1 tbsp cider vinegar, 1 tsp honey in a mug/glass of warm water) as don't want to take gaviscon :D

Erme, you really do need proper medical guidance with your eating! Women need 2000 calories per day, yes you might be able to get by on less - but NOT THAT MUCH!!!!!! Not only that but now you say you're also gulping down cider vinegar and honey to treat to treat REFLUX?????!!!!!!!

Erme, you DON'T treat reflux, which is acid by sticking another load of acid down there!! You'll have huge problems, if not illness soon with your oesophagus, getting ulcers and who knows what down there as the reflux is regularly burning through your oesophagus!!!!

Please take note Erme, this isn't funny it's downright ridiculous. Gaviscon's the only type of reflux fighter you need, please use it.

  • hello back again. Am right in the grip right now. smoked my last cig this morning at 11.30. Its early days - or hours I should say - just trying to take each hour (or 1/2 or even 1/4 when necessary!) as it comes right now. Been for a lovely walk with oh in the woods so that kept me distracted for a couple of hours! Think I'm gonna read my book for a bit and then go for a run...

Am really annoyed with myself for doing this again - what was I thinking??? If I had just passed through that moment of weakness back in July, or picked myself up and dusted myself off and got back on the wagon I would not be going through this right now. I suppose the good thing about it is I know I got through this this time last year so I can again now.

Hope everyone out there is doing well! :A x

Hey everyone, back from my mini break and about to go stick the tele on and chill - no cigarettes since last year (technically, anyway! :rotfl:) stopped at a service station for a copy of Diva and picked up an e-lite and I am now a convert, came back and stuck the sticker on my little poster from the Quit Kit and feeling positive. Hope everyone else is okay :j

Well done, determined and good to have you back to the land of the getting healthier! Easy to have the "what ifs", but I'd try hard to forget them and try to transport yourself back to last year; though having said that, you're a lot wiser at quitting since that experience and I'm sure you'll adapt yourself far more easily as a result. I'm hoping that Tricia will be back, Kiwi too as I've not seen either for ages!

You've done all good things to distract yourself today, determined, and don't forget the pledge as you reckoned it helped you a lot last time!
    Smokers Pledge

"I'm NOT going to smoke any cigarettes today, but if I wish, I may smoke tomorrow" Then repeat the pledge every day until it's lodged in your brain and mind.
All the very best, determined, you know I'll be 'with you' all the way willing you on.

Hi there Jessie and very well done on not having smoked!! I notice you have an E-cig, all I'd advise is use it only it for as long as you really need it and you won't run the risk of it enticing you back into the 'real' world. I see you have something to look ahead and forward to, won't it be marvellous if you're completely smoke-free (in every way) by then!

Sue x Good luck to everyone, take a look above at the Quitters Pledge.

That's one of my key goals - I don't want to have to run outside at my wedding to smoke!

ha ha ha Sue there have been times today when I have siad I won't smoke for the next 30 mins, if the thought is unbearable after that I will! oh was getting on my last nerve on the drive to the woods - poor man, be does nothing but be lovely to me! :o - and I looked in his ashtray & there was a 1/2 smoked cig in there. I picked it up but then thought if I still feel this way in half hour.... luckily after 2 hours of walking & hunting for mushrooms I was no longer on my last nerve!

oh no have Tricia & Kiwi fallen off of the wagon or just haven't been about for a while Sue? Also who was that lady who was pregnant? (sorry so bad with names!) have you heard from her again? Hope everyone is staying strong, but if old friends haven't stayed strong then hopefully we will see them around for some like minded support!

Re my sig - I was too ashamed to remove it Sue so I shamefully kept it until a couple of weeks ago...

Hope you've fully recovered from your fall earlier in the year and so lovely to still have you here supporting & encouraging us all!

    Thanks sue....

Have to say the cider vinegar didn't really work for long..

So figured a decent meal was what I needed :D....

So cooked it even though it was hard for me...

Went on the scale though before which wasn't positive....

    Still taking the rescue remedy

Och and had a flood to boot...E-cig wasn't vaping right so changed the carto only the next one got stuck.....So e-liquid all over hands...straight to the bathroom to wash it off :D

No nic overdose for me this time :)

Do have omeprazole in the house Sue for gastritis and considering how nauseous I've been feeling today think I might go back on it if only for a wee while..

Feeling so much better since PRN and like rescue remedy and a good chat to the crisis line about my bad thoughts..

thought I'd lost the PRN but managed to find it - phew..

  • I am not smoking today :) day one again, but I'm not giving in this time.
Gone cold turkey. Feeling quite anxious and angry due to lack of nicotine. But I seem to be coping well so far.

Any tips for going cold turkey?

Just calling in to say I'm still doing well. Still feeling guilty that I am not posting as much as I feel I should any more - I was sooooooo grateful for all the help I received on here.
