Hiya all well as my title says i have been smoke free for 40 whole days :j I am still using the champix with no problems apart from very dry skin all over my face its horrible.
Its just happened over the last 2 weeks, my nurse says to use e45 and if it has not cleared in a week maybe stop taking my teatime tablet as they maybe to strong, the week was up on tuesday so i have stopped taking it, my face is still no better, i feel great. and To be honest i dont think it is the tablets, its so cold outside and my heating has been on none stop. (so if you are thinking of taking these tablets dont let this put you off)
It nice to read EVERYONE IS DOING FANTASTIC :D

That's fantastic news, ellionic!!! :T What a shame about your skin, could it be a combination of the Champix and heat maybe? If your heating's been up high(ish) the Champix may, as a result, be affecting your skin...though why only your face??? Does it normally happen in winter?

Maybe you're right, but could you possibly turn the heating down just a tad and see if it helps.

If you don't get chance to answer before Christmas fair enough, in which case, I'm already talking to myself! :rotfl:Have a lovely Christmas and a very healthy :D New Year without fags in your life!!!

Haha sue, no you are not loopy and taking to yourself :-) I get dry skin a little in the winter but this is horrible its my whole face. Its like its coated in something, I have not been able to wear makeup for the past 2 weeks it looks like a patchy mess.
I have been on 2 tablets a day for 6-7 weeks so thats what made me think it might not be them. I am soft as muck and my heating has been on very high lately but no more than last years cold winter, oh i dont know whats going on.
E45 does not seem to be doing anything after 3-4 times of putting it on a day. I have finally gave in today and am using my OH'S hydromol cream he got on prescription, so lets see if that helps before i am back at docotors on tuesday. x

PLEASE ellionic, don't use it anymore!!! Anything like that should be prescribed for you alone! When you're already using medication (Champix) it's even more of a risk as you just never know if the 2 might clash!

From what you've said above, I truly do believe it's caused by the Champix; it's powerful stuff and extremely effective and being as it's your face only that's affected could be the affect of the pills alongside the very cold weather versus very warm conditions.

Please, leave it in the hands of your Nurse, she's one to be dealing with it. For now, one thing that might help is a mild salt solution. Just 1 teaspoon to a sink/bowl of warm water. Rinse the flannel in the salted water and, using it whilst still quite wet, gently dab with flannel morning and night. I'd try not to use make up and just let the skin breathe.

If next time you go, your Nurse says to drop a pill, I'd follow that to the letter.

All the best with it ellionic and beware of other folk's prescribed meds they are for them not you! :naughty: Tut, tut, tut. ;)

I spoke to the smoking cessation line about the spray yesterday and they said cut it down to 2 sprays a day (one dose) divided asap. So that's what I'm trying to do. I hated the 2 sprays yesterday am. So yeah that's the plan - do that for about 3 days then down to one or even off. But am determined to do without it over the holidays so here's hoping :)

Of course...there's various logistics with taking an e-cig away with you - not least for me enough punched cartos (cartridges) and like liquid. I will take the month's worth to be on the safe side though will probably only need 50ml and have some left over :)....I'm reducing the concentration after this bottle

Sorry I couldn't answer you yesterday, Erme but a very busy evening.

Re bad days or any days when you're finishing or have finished using the spray, why not try to look upon it as what you're gaining from being a step further away rather than how you're suffering. :)

    Sue x

Sorry but when I'm stressed out or really down and just want a boost right now I want the spray....I don't think anything can help with that bar prayer...tiredness doesn't help but have now just about got out of the habit of sprays just before bed and I don't have one in the middle of the night anymore or even first thing when I get up or even after a long break from the e-cig

I am still getting cravings for the spray (really bad yesterday about 4-5pm) but still.....I'm now down to 2 sprays a day (that's like one dose) despite all the stress and strain of the last week...

And even though the e-cig can be really hard to judge cos like when you fill it up and it leaks or when you change a carto you can often lose upto 5ml of liquid easily - I still think I'm vaping about 3-4ml a day which is fine. My tops was about 5ml..so 3-4 is fine considering ....And I don't 'chain' vape - unless am on the phone. Often just till I'm satisfied...

It's sooo very hard to believe how long you've quit for and isn't it so fantastic not to be ruled by the blessed things anymore! You've been amazing and are certainly an inspiration to others. What some stats too, Fee!!! Thanks so much for paying another visit, keep em up.

Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year!

I had about 3-4 individual sprays yesterday ....I was having such a bad day (tired and psychotic) that it was really hard to say no :(....

I've had one today and even that feels like too much (was really stingy) so maybe I'll cut that one out tomorrow...But I really want to go 2-3 days on the 2 sprays a day before I get rid of the spray so here's hoping I'm on track for Wednesday to get rid of the spray :)

    Happy Sabbath everyone :)

Great to have paid the macbook off in all the psychosis :j - even though I don't know how I'll afford stuff till Thursday and now a week on Tuesday's budget is brought forward by a few days..

So I figure I will have £10 that I will just take out (with £5 whoopsies) till next Thursday then £10 for extra food travelling and then like £5 for the cab home and I will still have £30 for food between Thursday and Tuesday :D...
