Nope Sue it has always been and always will be for me a way of finding alternative nicotine and then gradually reduce. It was initially about 2mg/ml per 6 weeks but now I have it down to 2mg/ml per month approx...
So currently on 32mg/ml which is still higher than most NRT...
Nasal spray mini disaster yesterday...tried to get it down to 4 sprays....think I managed 5.....but if I'd been really stressed it would have been about 20...
Don't know how I'm going to cope without my am kick of nasal spray but know it has to happen...think today I'm going to try and cut down by 1/2 a dose (1 spray) and then go from there...
Maybe tomorrow if I have a good day reduce that am kick by 1 spray...:)
But still so much better than even a few weeks ago...
And like punched cartos (for the tank ) on Sabbath and it ended in tears ago...about 3 cartos wasted (and 2 repunched) - hardly very MS....(the tank is not only more convenient but supposed to make the cartos last longer).....I was getting through about one carto a day pre tank....it was costing me about £35 every 6 weeks..
Funny how now I'm just on nicotine I object to spending £45 every 3-4 weeks on spray yet would spend that pER WEEK on cigs up until 3 months ago...
Spreadsheet started....current calculations (liquid is approx and not per daily vape due to leakages when refilling/changing carto etc)
200ml of E-liquid (lethal concentration - dilute it) £ 43
Batteries (approx 4-5) £20
Cartos - £35
inhalator £24
= £122 per 13 weeks
Or £9.38 per week...which isn't bad compared to what I was spending on cigs (£45 a week plus )...Of course these are approx calculations and the inhalator over the spray has yet to be quantified....
But just shows you...and I wouldn't consider myself a light vapour (actually quite heavy)....
Doesn't take into account any new hardware (mods or tanks) I might want but still.....min costs for e-cig
And yes like when you first start you spend ALOT more (I think I spent about £200 in my first 6 weeks ) but still

Afternoon all. Have been lurking for a while.
Smoke free since my last post! Can't believe how much cash I've saved.
My sleeping pattern still isn't righted so smoking nurse suggested appointment with Doctor, she's suggesting he might recommend some sleep therapy, CBT type thing for sleep. Has anyone else ever had this?
Can't wait for the New Year, it'll be the first one in years where I'm not making a resolution to quit...because I already have! (dances)Pay One Debt in 2012 #21 Catalogue £43.80/£429.46 THEN Loan £111.57/4004.16

Yeah I know you will be Sue....I'd just rather do it this way..
Successes today - no NRT during graphic design class and lasted 1.5 hours :j....Didn't really crave it when I got out either....Just when I got home...it was too cold to pull out the e-cig :j
So yeah...not looking forward to giving up my am sprays (first thing) but know I can do it. Feel the same disdain to the spray as anyone else wud to to the cigs. In fact this afternoon I might just well let them meet their maker....It has had such a hold on me  (the spray I mean)...can't speak for the oral spray but this is just the nasal spray. Such a hold...will be so pleased when I finally ditch it...
And the thing is I was up in the middle of the night vaping (puffing) on my e-cig whilst debt busting and like I found it more soothing and more comforting than the spray...The spray gives you a kick..the inhalator or an ice pop or a lollipop or something or even a mint gives you comfort
So that's my discovery for today

I stopped smoking 77 days ago and its fantastic I am just sorry I waited so long! I am a 64 year old male and I live alone quite happily I might add and I live in an upstairs flat.
Let me take you back to 87 days ago I was having really bad pains in my legs after walking just a short distance, this had been happening for quite a while but this particular day it was really bad, so I went to see my Doctor after he examined me he explained I had a circulation problem and he said if I didn’t stop smoking I could end up losing a few toes or my foot or even my leg well that was enough for me.
I started a course of Champix that day, and 77 days ago I stopped smoking and haven’t looked back, and as I type this I can say my Doctor was quite right because I can now walk over distance pain free.
Its funny I have tried and failed to stop smoking many times and I have been aware of the risks, although I wasn’t at the time I started smoking, but I for some stupid reason thought it wouldn’t happen to me or at least that’s what the nicodemon was telling me but as we all know he is a liar! Well the end result is I no longer smoke and that is wonderful and I will never smoke again.
I have a photo of my leg as a screensaver on my IPhone so every time I use my phone it reminds me of my Doctors warning, so anyone thinking of stopping smoking do it now before its to late.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

LittleMissKirsten, that is marvellous news, you're doing wonderfully well!!! :T You also sound so very upbeat about it, and certainly are immensely impressed with your savings and rightly so!!!!!!! :j
CBT is cognitive behavioral therapy, which aims to change the way you think. It's used to help many problems, in your case possibly to help with the way you think towards having stopped smoking and your sleep patterns as the two are quite possibly interwoven; though I think it's like that with most of us for a few months after we quit. As with everything to do with quitting though - we're all individuals and where some things affect one or some people others aren't affected.
Stopping smoking is a huge change to our bodies, our minds too and a lot goes on in the subconscious state, which is especially true when we're sleeping. Almost as though the brain/mind tries to digest what's going on because "things have changed" but it isn't totally sure - why. I believe the mind battles it out when it has most time (when we're asleep) but in doing so it wakes us up or makes us toss and turn as we're not able to sleep properly.
The fact that you seem to be coping so well in the day time may even come into play. Also, what means are you quitting by now? Is it still both the patches and inhalator?
Look forward to going to the CBT therapist, he/she may be able to help you in a way you wouldn't have thought possible. Kep your mind completely open to any or all suggestions and do practice them whatever they be. It sounds as though you have a very caring Dr which is just great. Please let us know how you go, we're always interested.
All the very best and splendid news with the New Year resolution you DON'T have to make!!!:T

Keep building on that 1 hr and 1/2 Erme and well done!!!
Hi Viv and it's sooo very good to hear you wonderful news!!! :T:T It's amazing how we CAN do these things, especially when our health is threatened as yous was. I'm thrilled to bits for you and I'm so pleased you keep us updated. Please carry on doing so. I bet you're Dr is so very happy for you.
All the very best.

I had a bad day yesterday with the spray...got tired and caved into two sprays (not 2 doses) in the evening. ...then had a dose (2 sprays) this am so like not happy...
However it will not come away with me over the holidays.....so the last spray is next Wednesday if not before (if I run out)
So will get there...funny I was just really tired and am at my weakest when tired. Was always the way reducing the cigs etc. But know it'll only be a couple of days of suffering with no spray and I'll be fine
Sure the spray made me more addicted to cigs than anything. Probably why in the past when I stopped the spray (after 6-8 weeks) I went straight back to smoking 101 cigs...
Also next 50ml bottle (lasts about 2 weeks) I am having a reduction in mg/ml...figure I'm going to do it every 2 bottles now:)

Oh Sue, you're so very helpful!! It's fantastic having this thread for encouragement.
Saw the Docor today, he's decided to try me on Zopiclone for a couple weeks rather than therapy. Not sure how I feel about this to be honest, I hate having to take tablets for anything.
I'm mostly coping on just patches now, haven't used the inhalor for a while. Haven't really thought about it! It sits in my bag for if I ever need it but haven't for a while. I don't really crave ciggies so if I have a patch on then it's out of my mind. Onto step 3 patches this weekPay One Debt in 2012 #21 Catalogue £43.80/£429.46 THEN Loan £111.57/4004.16

Hi LittleMissKirsten, thanks for replying so quick. A good idea to keep the inhalator just for "just in case". Give the pills a try and see how they go, they're a fairly mild pill and should help so long as it's only short term use, which no doubt your Dr will be sure to stay with.
Some times we need to take pills to help us through things, and if it does the trick so be it.
Have to dash now, look forward to seeing you soon.
Sleep well.

Sorry I couldn't answer you yesterday, Erme but a very busy evening.
Re bad days or any days when you're finishing or have finished using the spray, why not try to look upon it as what you're gaining from being a step further away rather than how you're suffering.
