 Hello Sue and Kiwi and Everybody else

Doing really fine at the moment, taking extra doggie walks to take my mind off the odd craving.
I found this today on Twitter and thought I would share it

To get through the hardest journey we need take only ONE step at a time, but we MUST keep on stepping. - Chinese Proverb

Sounds to me like you're pretty darn marvellous too, you've joined the pretty darned marvellous bunch of no longer smoking folks. :D

I'm in no way a violent type but in my early days of not smoking there were certain people I could quite easily have pummelled, some just had to be there, never mind opening their mouth. Probably it's just best if you can try avoid those folks who have the potential to bring out the worst in you or who get on yer nerves. For a while anyway, I think you need to be totally selfish and do what you need to do for your own sanity and heal yourself without hindrance from those who want to put their oar in.

When I was a young'un I always wanted a sister, but thankfully I don't have any sisters as I am sure they wouldn't have lived to tell the tale.
Well everyone here does seem pretty darn marvellous tbh!!!
Today is TOUGH!!!! Seems to have been one neverending craving and the inhalater's not doing much to touch it. BUT, I knew this wasn't going to be easy and if I cave just cos I have a big craving then I'm not gonna get very far am I lol. My poor little girl is the only one I have spent any time with today and the poor little chicken has been shouted at a fair few times, being 2 she tests my patience on the best of days but today ......sheesh!!! Luckily (for us both!) she is with her daddy tonight. So am off out tonight, not drinkingt though, just going for a meal with friends for someone's birthday. As I only have one friend who smokes and no alcohol is involved I am hoping I won't find it too difficult. This dirty habit has just got to go so I WON'T give in!!!! been 75.5 hours now woop woop (always seems to be on the half hour I post lol) feeling pretty good actually, clear chest, clean clothes and hair, no money going out the bank on dirty cigs....am feeling ok. Anyone else notice mood swings though? I was blaming PMT but that ship has sailed so i either have to face up to the fact I'm just a moody bint or it's a side effect of giving up?! haha oh well, either way people generally want to stay well away from me at the moment, and i am avoiding people who annoy me as much as poss. Although there's spome people who just can't be avoided sadly but he's gone now lol

Am feeling much better today, been to post my ebay offerings and the sun is out, although looks like not for much longer lol, and today's good :). My inhalator was bought for me by my mum and had 42 cartridges with it. Am using one a day at the moment so should last a while and hopefully will be able to us it as a dummy like you say. My sis just hasn't a clue, she's a fool. She's very bitter towards me, thinks i have an easy life (HA!) and it annoys her. As i say, she has no idea! And if i was to tell her i was in debt, she would sniff and say its all my own fault, she's that kind of person!!!!
Congrats to you Erme for 2 months quit :)

You know why worry? the official dosage is 6-12 cartridges a day so if you're just on one you're hardly getting any nic :T...well done you!!!!

Don't worry - being a dog is a side effect of quitting the cigs...no it's not the PMT....you're right there - but found often when I quit before even with NRT I'd be uber sensitive and irritable for the first few days...

Nope it's definitely not you...It's the smoking withdrawals...it's documented if you just google it (Sue !!!!).....

Anyhow got a new voluntary job...credit union:)

    Less stressed today just tired...

    Hope everyone is well

Not exactly fine, it's brrrrr 'fresh' at the moment with half the country closed due to snow. It's probably about as cold as I have known it, we're allegedly too far North for snow (last time was 80 years ago) but we even had a few flurries yesterday.

I was the dog of all dogs at the beginning (and sometimes still am), barking at folks like never before. I scared myself sometimes with fits of rage I never even knew I was capable of.

There's lots of calming and beneficial foods that you can introduce to your diet to aid anxiety and stress. I have upped my intake of lots of things that are said to help; honey, oats, green tea, fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds and the like. Since I quit smoking though, I still have the appetite of a horse and unfortunately am probably eating these things in addition to what I was eating in the past and still feel hungry a lot of the time.

  • Still going strong here, been 4 entire days now :)
Gave a friend a lift to an appt today, was met with the road I needed entirely closed, to be diverted to roads full of roadworks, took me 40 mins to go 7 miles, resulting in friend bein late for appt, tensions running high and me having to mess my childminder around, battery on phone dying so couldn't contact........basically, everything that could go wrong did go wrong and I had a smokey joe friend with me but I didn't actually want to smoke, I was stressed but I never thought, god i want a fag, i just thought "f roadworks, f my phone dying" etc. A good thing I think, I am very pleased!
Although I think everyone in the car hates me as I was very stroppy lol. They were very nice though and said I wasn't too bad (I know trhey're being polite, I was hideous lol)

  • Well done everyone, stick at it, you can do it! I stopped on 1st March this year, and I just think of all that money I've saved (probs around £800), not to mention the health benefits. My boys are so proud of me I couldn't go back now, not that I want to. Keep it up x x
