I have now gone *checks time* 44.5 hours :) I am loving how clear my chest feels and the fact I don't stink, I have always hated the smell of smoke on my clothes and now I don't have it it's great. I also love the fact that I don't have to keep going outside to stand in the rain (beautiful summer this year hey lol) and am just generally very proud :)

Actually though, doing pretty good on the whole
, not too bad. NOt going to get cocky though, I know this isn't easy!

GREAT news alibob!!!! :T:T Stay focused on how good you feel, that you don't stink and.......how clear your chest feels......you don't want to go back from all that now do you!!!!

If the inhalator is going to help you get through the worst of it then use it, just try not to use it too much or for too long as you, you'll know the right time to wean yourself off. :)

Don't get too concerned by your Mum's remarks, especially if she herself smokes (she may have preferred you to be her ally! ;), but you can tell her THAT ain't gonna happen ) - BUT - please do tell her that remarks like that don't help and that right now you really need to do this.

Tell her she's a brill Mum and that you need all her love and support as "you really can help me do this Mum - will you, please?"

My Mum was just like that, she never wanted me to quit and even told my DH I'd never be able to - BUT - after I quit she did too!!!!! We need to teach em alibob! ;)

Chalk up every hour with HUGE praise for yourself alibob, I honestly believe this is something you CAN achieve!!!!! :D

    Hiya Everyone

It's AZ for those of you that remember me, and Hello to all the newbies.
It's been a long time since I was on here, had laptop problems, all sorted now. And yes, I fell off the straight and narrow. I gave up for months, then smoked for a few weeks and now I'm starting back on day one. As I smoked for those 3 odd weeks I've decided to wipe them off my (old) journey and begin with a totally new journey. I'm not happy with those few weeks as I did so well with all the help on here, but I'm not, as the saying goes beating myself up over it. This is a new journey and I am going to treat it as one. (don't mean to sound so harsh there) I haven't smoked for a couple of weeks now, so far so good.
Thank you so much Sue for your PM, god knows how I managed to wipe all my old PM's out, but thank you again so very much.

Hope everyone is well and I'll post again soon.
    AZ xx

Good to meet you Erme! Great shots and it's nice to see your outlook on life and all that pleases you. Get out and about with that camera as much as possible..it's a wonderful way to help yourself quitting wise and with MH problems.

Not sure if you meant you'd chucked the baccy down the loo or coughed ('hacked') it down there, either way it didn't sound great!!!

Just a though Erme, but you menioned having more on being tired, any help if you were to lie down/kip in an armchair to take you away from the moment and make you feel more refreshed, even if it was only 10-20 mins. Anyway, all the best with your upping the nicotine in the vapouring.

    Take care!

    Love, Sue xx

Och thanks sue...nope I didn't throw it up down the loo :rotfl:...Had about an oz left and sibling really stressed me out yesterday so it was the choice of smoke or worse...got so stressed out with sibling yesterday......

She seems to think I'm psychotic 24/7 which we all know I'm not and has like no idea about recovery and if I say anything will say something highly unachievable as proof of recovery...(like get a full time job......even if I got one tomorrow it wouldn't change her attitude and it's really not likely to happen tomorrow).. and then when I'd achieved that place another burden on me. No point in mentioning to her the e-cig. Too her it'll be still smoking...

Like yesterday I almost cancelled the visit next week cos she was given obtuse, manipulative half answers to my questions and then I got the voices.....So I thought 'if I risk hearing voices best cancel' - only didn't tell her that cos it makes her really freak out. Then Ma got me to try and change her mind only I couldn't get hold of her cos she was at the proms (she hadn't thought to tell me that one - she just threatened me to try and keep me silent all afternoon).....so I'm freaking out even more. Didn't get hold of her till 11am (and missed kirk as a result )......and by that point I was in tears. Now she still hasn't committed herself to a time next week ...so annoying. I shall be on tender hooks all day not knowing when she is available.....Lovely - not!!!...and we're only meeting for an hour (her decision, projected to make it sound like it's what best for me when if she has no concept of recovery she'll have no idea what's best for me!!!)....so yeah you can see with all this extreme stress why I smoked yesterday :(

But back on the e-cig today :D....

the word by the way sue is vaping not vapouring...minor point but worth getting the lingo correct

(Och to make matters worse my twin sister still calls me by the name I was christened even though I changed it by deed poll 14 year ago...that really winds me up. It's like in her eyes I'm still a rebellious teen. I'll freak if she so much as calls me that.....she wants to meet. she has to show respect...)
Thanks Sue :) Definitely helps to do things to take your mind off it. I was going to go entirely cold turkey but was really struggling yesterday so got an inhaler thing, it is the best NRT I have ever used for me. PAtches irritate me and gum just burns my mouth, tabs don't do anything but this is great. I am only using it when I get a really strong urge so hopefully it's just taking the edge off.
My mum doesn't help much though, when we were out yesterday she ssaid she would buy me some NRT but when it got to it she was like "Are you sure you want this and don't just want me to get you some fags?"......when she says things like that I can go from being totally focussed and determined to quit to omg yes I want cigs of course I do and it's 10x harder to say I want the NRT. Think I'll have to have a word if she says that again, I appreciate she is helping me out by paying for the stuff but I hate when she words it like that lol.
Actually though, doing pretty good on the whole, not too bad. NOt going to get cocky though, I know this isn't easy!

yeah my ma was exactly like that for ages till she saw me on the e-cig....give it time and you're ma will come round though appreciate it's not exactly easy..... Let your ma see the difference the inhalator makes and go from there. Know we are here for you even if you just need a rant ...hugs...

Hiya Az!!! :hello: It's good to see you, though so sad to see that something caused you to go back to the 'sticks' again. :( You're right though as sadly 3 odd weeks is no blip. So good for you on starting over again. It's one thing to go back to them - it's quite another to have the courage to come back and say so! Well done Az.

If you know (and I believe you told me you did in your PM) the reason why it all went haywire then be on guard this time around and don't allow it to get to you again! Nothing or anyone has the right!!! Good to see you back Az and well done for starting over again! You'll get there, you and I both know you will. ;)

ooops! Sorry about the wrong word, Erme, though it was only a quick word for it, I think. Look out, next time I'll possibly be calling it vapourizing! You know me Erme. ;)

Oh dear Erme, it sounds as though you're allowing both your Sis's (you mean there are another 2 of you!!!!;)) to rattle you good and proper and that's Wrong! I've said before, keep away from any and all people who upset you as they are just not worth it. Apart from that, what right do they have to rattle you. Tell them that unless they can be nice you're not interested until they are!!!

What's in a name? A he*l of a lot and I'd hate anyone to call me something I hated intensely. Ignore her when she uses your original name Erme, it's the best way to deal with all such problems/people, though why folk get such pleasure of doing so is beyond me.

With regards to the bolded out quote above; No! you won't freak out at all, don't let her do that to you, show her just how calm and rational you can be....and if she's just winding you up she'll soon get fed up. Ignore her and keep awat from her - for now at least, please!

She's judging you too without fully knowing or understanding your illness! Please Erme, whilst she's acting this way (tother one too) keep a good distance from both. Take a look at a copy of "Desiderata" at the part about keeping away from folk who are no good for you as "they are vexacious to the spirit!" When you see her show you're calm and unperturbed and unrattled by any nastiness, she'll end up fed up and either wise up or move off.

You're YOU Erme....that's why we love you here!!! ;) Now get back to your vapouring! :j I did it...I got it right......for today. :(

Also, am really loving my inhalator, I have taken to leaving it in my mouth and biting the end like a pipe, I feel like Sherlock Holmes. It's entertaining me no end tbh lol, think all that proves is I need to get out more..........;)
Have had a very good day today, one slight niggle with my sister earlier where I felt like beating her...she has 2 kids, a 7 yr old and a 2 yr old. I have a 2 yr old. Our 2 yr olds get on well, but are both at the mine/won't share/pushing/kicking/hitting stage which means we can have some great fun keeping them from scrapping. Anyways, as we were both tidying up ready to leave she said "Don't you ever just wish you could have a break?" And then jsut as I was answering "omg yes" she said "Oh, wait a minute, you do!" in a really sarcastic voice. My DD stays at her dad's 3 nights a week so yeah, I do get a "break". Howver, if she wants to give me her happy marriage, own house, both people in a job, no debt life then I will happily swap! I get a "break" yes, but when my DD is with me it's just me, if that means she is up screaming all night long and I don't get a wink of sleep I have nobody to take her off my hands for even a minute, nobody to talk to about it, nobody to help me out, nobody, no-one. Just me. So yeah, I get a break. But I would dearly love for it to have worked out with her dad and for us to still be in a happy relationship and madly in love and would swap my "break" gladly for her life! She was at my mum's last week too and was making snidey remarks to me then as well, she really does p*ss me right off. I am working the Holmes look right now with my inhalator, she really does just wind me up. Needs to think about what she is saying before she opens her stupid mouth.
I realise I may be over reacting slightly so if anyone is reading this and thinking "ok, get over it" haha, then I do apologise, but she really does annoy me saying things like that, and with PMS and quitting smoking thrown into the mix I am probably slightly irrational right now lol
Other than that, I am actuially pretty darn marvellous today

Hi alibob and great news with the 55.5 (57 plus now!), you're doing just marvellous, though bet your Sis didn't say that!!! ;) What with you and your Sis and Erme with hers, I'm starting to think I'm glad I didn't have siblings...though I would have loved at least one.

Try to let today go ali, as you've realised, much of it is down to PMT and quitting and so long as you realise that, it's not so bad. I can see what you mean about the difference in your lives though - but - you never know what's coming up in life ali, so never give up ...but keep givingup!!! :D

Take care with that inhalator or you'll become addicted to the bloomin thing!

Somehow (I was mega stressed again yesterday - couldn't get hold of the aforesaid sibling till 11am when I was supposed to be @ kirk ) I managed to go without smokes most of yesterday am...so today it's full on e-cig with a little spray..I hack too much anyways .....

And tomorrow is my two month vaping (you got it wrong again Sue :rotfl:...I can't do anything but laugh at your faux pas cos I know you mean no harm....) anniversary....even with the costs of all the smokes the past two months just another week or two and I'll have saved £300 :) (excluding e-cig costs.....that makes it more like £200) :D...amazing.....£300 saved off rollies in two months :T......that's a lot of donga :money:

You know what hun..I think you're doing extremely well all things considered and should be proud of yourself...and please don't worry about the rant...tis fine ..hugs

Don't worry about the inhalator either...when you are ready (though not right now by the sounds of it) you can always use it like a dummy with no cartridges in it....

How many are u using per day just out of curiosity? When I was on it baout 5 years ago the action was enough and I was only on about 2-3 a day.... and the taste...

the e-cig tastes pretty similar...gotta learn to love that sweet peppery tingling on the tongue :) (e-cig users though call it throat hit...LOL)

And are you getting your inhalator free/cheap on prescription hun? Not having a go (would I dare....completely understand the PMS - only it makes me paranoid and dog like.....hugs) ...just saying this cos I care...if not you might be able to get some cartridges cheap on ebay....just a though to help you save some pennies hun...

Anyhow need new cartomizer so best go....

    Hugs

Am feeling much better today, been to post my ebay offerings and the sun is out, although looks like not for much longer lol, and today's good :). My inhalator was bought for me by my mum and had 42 cartridges with it. Am using one a day at the moment so should last a while and hopefully will be able to us it as a dummy like you say. My sis just hasn't a clue, she's a fool. She's very bitter towards me, thinks i have an easy life (HA!) and it annoys her. As i say, she has no idea! And if i was to tell her i was in debt, she would sniff and say its all my own fault, she's that kind of person!!!!
Congrats to you Erme for 2 months quit :)

Sounds to me like you're pretty darn marvellous too, you've joined the pretty darned marvellous bunch of no longer smoking folks. :D

I'm in no way a violent type but in my early days of not smoking there were certain people I could quite easily have pummelled, some just had to be there, never mind opening their mouth. Probably it's just best if you can try avoid those folks who have the potential to bring out the worst in you or who get on yer nerves. For a while anyway, I think you need to be totally selfish and do what you need to do for your own sanity and heal yourself without hindrance from those who want to put their oar in.

When I was a young'un I always wanted a sister, but thankfully I don't have any sisters as I am sure they wouldn't have lived to tell the tale.
