I'm still doing ok, went to a houseparty last night and i was a bit apprehensive as i knew i'd be amongst smokers (they did go out into the garden to smoke) This has been the first test and i smelt the smoke as it drifted indoors (fuelled with a few martinis) i managed to cope with it and didnt smoke. I was sooo pleased when i woke up this morning and had climbed another hurdle.

Well done you, it's a huge hurdle and not one I would have liked to faced at day 4. :T

    Just checking in quickly.

:T to everyone, especially little evo, feeling good, Mrs P, khal and taj. As we all know, those first few days are the hardest.

Lippy, Oldreekie, lucy, determined new ms, kiwi, jammy, whispy and all the rest of the gang, it's so uplifting to read your posts.

I did a boot sale this morning and every time someone was smoking near my stall it STANK and made me feel really icky!

I was very naughty too............there was a couple who met a couple they knew just in front of my stall.............so they stopped to chat and all 4 lit up
That was too much stink to cope with, so I went and very nicely asked if they'd mind moving somewhere else.

They did and even apologised to me.

Got to dash...........got to pick up DS2 from his dad's.

    Thinking of you all....................DD x

Taj, I was in Aldi today (my fave supermarket.... LOL!) and I usually complain of people smelling of BO in there (call me shallow) however, today a couple walked past me and they STANK of fags... totally reeked!! I haven't smelt anything so bad... OMG, it was DISGUSTING. I have had a few cravings today but I beat them very quickly thinking about how nasty those people smelt...!

    Officially 2 weeks today! YAY

I agree smelling the smoke is quite offputting now, the car is in a serious need of a deep clean and valet. i am trying to get my older sister to join me in kicking the habit, i hope i have been an inspiration to her!

Keep up the good work everybody, afterall a day turns into week, a week into a month etc. :)
  • happy two-week-smoberversary little-evo  so cool isn't it??? Great news if you can inspire someone else to give up too!

totally agreeing that smelling people who have been smoking is horrible! Its so embarrassing to think that's how I smelt a couple of month ago :o

I feel so fantastic having given up smoking, I really hope anyone lurking out there reading this & being uncertain about giving up, takes heart & takes the plunge. Giving up isn't anywhere near as bad as the fear of giving up makes you believe. Yes there are challenges - cravings, coping with difficult/stressful/social situations without cigs - but how I now feel is soooo worth it

    day 5 patches

Hi everyone, Talk about testing myself, Yesterday went out for lunch 2 til midnight yes midnight and two smoker were in our party. About 4/5 times I was tempted to have 'just one' but I didnt and I'm so pleased about that and yet Today, I could not be tempted to have one. There's a lesson to be learned here alright. ....Noticed the flat is not smelling of stale tobacco as much I'm burning crystals and keeping all the windows open.

I've been and done the shopping and what a great feeling I had...usually I'd then go to the kiosk for 7 packets of cigarettes £30 odd quid and remembered I Don't Smoke anymore woohoo lol.
I love being a non smoker (almost 5 years)
    I love being frugal
I love being debt free and have NSD

Well done Taj!!! You are doing brilliantly! :)

DMS, thanks for your continued support and you deserve a huge congratulations for doing so well yourself! As I said before, I would not be here if it were not you guiding me from my monthly spending dilemma to this room of non smokers! Thank you one million times... and more! I didn't think it was possible to stop smoking, I was so addicted.

Girls, Guys, keep going, it feels so good to be able to BREATH. I love being able to push myself when I am running, I do not have carbon monoxide in my lungs anymore and I can FEEL IT! It's great, keep going everyone, you smell gorgeous!

Oh and if it is any consolation I still reach for that cig... :D remember it's just a habit and you will get over it! :)

Good morning all, well done to all the recent quitters, keep up he good work. Once the cravings subside, let the thoughts of continued good health and financial benefits spur you on.
How much did a pack of £20 increase by in the budget?!
Have a great day and may the sun continue to shine on us.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Good evening
Sparky from Sealed Pot Challenge 4. Just to let you all know Sue_UU has had a nasty fall about 10 days ago, I received an update from her hubby about how her recovery is going. I will pass on all your well wishes to her vis her hubby because she can't use her computer at the moment.

Good luck to you all on the giving up the ciggies

    Morning Mark,

Many thanks for your e-mail and for the very kind and good wishes from
yourself, Jane and the thread members, they have really meant a great
deal to us both but especially to Sue as she really misses everyone.

Sue says to thank you very much indeed for the list of new members
that you have sent and for the change of target of one of the members,
it will help her so much when she's able to go back. For now she's

watching me like a hawk for any money I bring back after
doing a shop. I swear she has some sort of telepathy!

We went back for the follow-up appointment yesterday, Wednesday. The
consultant wanted more x-rays to make sure that her arm didn't have a
hairline fracture and she hasn't luckily. She still needs the splint
on her arm for now. Her knees and shins are healing slowly but her
ribs are still very painful but will possibly be another fortnight in
healing. He was very pleased with the way things are going so we were
    both pleased to hear that.

Thanks very much for the contact and news Mark, it does Sue a lot of
good as she misses the thread and all those on it so much.
