Bless you.. I will accept the lard (I couldn't think how to say that without sounding offensive to anyone who doesn't know I am desperate for extra weight)I had for dinner 2 lots of vegi burger (I don't eat meat) sandwiches with cheese and a big bowl of sugar puffs, I don't really do 'proper' dinners..even our Xmas dinner wasn't 'normal' we had pizza and chocolate cake..Domino pizza was shut on Xmas day..what a cheek! Had to cook the pizza myself and burnt the first one  So, I reckon the vegi burgers and sugar puffs should be sending a few more ounces my way
Going to get DS Maky D's in a minute which means I will be in the queue 'blessing' all the dead poor burgers, I'll be there ages!!

Damn, I forgot to take the cough sweets home
Have some of my virtual ones. I meant to get some today as I have a weird throat - not dry, more coated with something (TMI?)
Az You are welcome around here any time. DH and I are both inclined to add weight without eating (that's our story:eek:) We could easily manage some vege goodies.
ceebeeby Welcome to the insanity - but it does work!
Sue-UU "though a syrup sandwich????" My sister in law, who was a District Nurse, swears by them - who are we to argue?:j:j
Ernie Discovered the prob - e-cig atomiser completely shot to pieces so blew budget and ordered 5 which came today. These last a min of 2 weeks. Only have 4 batteries so might well need more of those soon but we'll see. Just got to treat the atomisers like gold dust LOL. Had hardly used the last one
I think we must have been pecking away at the keyboard at the same time - so I missed you out on my last reply. You CAN do it! You WILL do it. Whatever method you use, it is worth it - healthwise, moneywise and any-other-wise.
You may not need your e-cig atomiser as much as you think. I MAY end up with spare patches. I'm keeping you in mind and please post whenever you can.
I'm, signing off now and wishing you all a peaceful night. To send you all off with a chuckle - Last night I woke in a a panic as a cig slipped between my fingers and set fire to the sheets :eek: It was my first smoking dream. My DH was not amused. I was not amused. I don't expect my neighbours for several streets around were amused. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Apologies for any confusion - i haven't worked out how to quote once I've done the first quote. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Evening all x
Still hanging on in there, and actually finding the no smoking side of it fine. I can't really remember smoking now (I can remember the stink, the sore throat/mouth and the panic though).
But I have been eating absolute rubbish all day long. So my plan of attack for tomorrow is to take my fruitbowl from home to work with me and then get some more at lunchtime to snack on when I get home.
On a really positive note, DH is now about 36 hours into non smoking too. I can't believe he is attempting it as I haven't been nagging him at all. I did send him off for a bath earlier though when he hit a bad patch! I'm expecting the heating bill to go up this month now he realises that it helps too.
So there is quite a strained atmosphere in the house tonight as he is going through the evil withdrawal bit and I'm getting back to normal. Strained but nice, with no stinky smells, no dry air, no coughing and no nasty ash dust
Keep going everyone, we can do it xThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Off to bed, hopefully less disturbed than last night. See you all tomorrow for day 4 !0

Yippee I have done 1 day, I am taking champix though. Not found it too bad, apart from being very thirsty and a bit of a headache. Day 2 tomorrow, feel really positive tonight.
Went for a long walk with dog in the rain. Had a nice long shower when I came home. Took Christmas decs down. Had to go to petrol station to get coal & logs, this was were I used to slip up but not today. Saw stop smoking nurse and got next prescription for champix.
I will suceed this time.
Well done to everyone else, can't remember each name.0 -
I see it looks as though I'm last to post - nothing new there then.:)
The end of a really amazing day for you all and I'm so very proud for you all and of you all, as I know full well that what you're going through isn't easy - but it is doable and you can ALL succeed!
Firstly for anyone and everyone: Tricia mentioned that after already having clicked the Quote button from one post she doesn't know how to quote a paragraph/sentence from another member's post to add to her post. If you all just click on any Quote button then have a look at the beginning of the post and at the end, you'll see there are characters before and after the speech. Use those on any and every part of speech you wish to highlight to answer and it'll work. Either that or just delete the parts that are irrelevant.
Erme, I really do wish you well to succeed with quitting as you'll be far more relaxed with out fags in your life. I'll be fank and say that I know nothing about the e-cigs as in general here we consider them to be too close to the real thing - but - I really do understand that there are people who can only possibly do it by using them. Whatever happens, just keep right on plugging away at quitting. The very best of luck!
Tricia, the term "stage fright" covers the feelings pretty will, a little like my "grieving" thoughts. Whatever, I do hope it soon goes for you, though it will certainly gradually diminish for certain. No worries, I wasn't knocking you SIL's thoughts of a "syrup sandwich" - whatever works for everyone is fine and should be used or at least tried.
Very well done, Penelope! A good idea with the fruit though mainly concentrate on apples and oranges as they're longer to eat. Don't forget the WATER!!!! Take bottles, or have a glass to sip at as often as you wish - it's so filling too!
Well done on getting DH into quitting with you!!! ....and into the bathing part, if he's also loving that, then it's relaxing anyway - good for you!! The heating bill may go up - but the fag be will plummet!!! :j Remind him of that and the savings you'll both make, not least of which will be to your health!
Sleep well, Mat and rise refreshed and a day further away!jammy_dodger wrote:sorry sue we aint going anywhere
...and am I delighted about that jammy!!!Well done with all you're doing on here, thanks so very much!
Great news about your FIRST day completed, topsyturphy!!!So much to be pleased with and proud of. Good for you on getting the walk in, a very wet one, same as me, but it will have done us both good. Having a headache is natural both with Champix and with quitting by whatever means, drink plenty of water as it'll help that too. I'm pleased you've seen the Cessation Nurse, they're a help too.
Onward for another day closer to your journey's end folks, but keep taking it one day at a time and reaffirm that resolve at the start of each new day. Stick together and you'll get there!

so funny you should say that jdI was gently trying to say to oh last night (without actually saying it) that we need to be eating food with more fibre this week :rotfl: am drinking loads of water, and apples & satsumas but its not working.... I think it also has a lot to do with feeling like I'm putting on weight IYSWIM? I can't possibly be gaining weight if I'm not eating anymore can I? But my waistline is growing...
Anyway have to go off to this corporate meeting I have so will catch up later on. Good luck everyone, I wish you all a very happy smoke free Friday :jDF as at 30/12/16
