Hi Wendz thanks - just wondered how to *know* it is trapped wind... I do know that after a good feed, I try to wind him then if I put him down and he still complains the bubble must have finally come up, so a pat to wind him then seems to work. Otherwise if he cries it means he hasn't had enough, but I am starting to be able to judge that alot better now though.
I found an app for breastfeeeding which has helped firm up average for feed duration at certain times of day/night, also helps remember what side rather than relying on elastic band round my wrist!

To be honest I am a bit rubbish and always forgetting to wind Poppy. She is bf too but seems to not be so much of a problem now shes older.
The app sounds good. Poppy has always been a snacker although she goes much longer between feeds now. She doesn't feed for long though. She has stayed on the same line on the weight graph so she must be getting what she wants.0 -
have you tried gripe water? My bairn is FF and had terrible colic for about a month and he had trouble bringing his wind up, but after some gripe water there was always a loud burp x

Hi ladies. Claireloo I'm sure you're doing brilliantly. If it makes you feel any better I'm struggling too but not suffering as much as my DH is still off work and able to share the work. Our little one has v bad colic. He's on infacol and colief. The colief only started yesterday but I'm sure I can see a difference already. Sadly, my poor little boy has reflux too. I took him to the GP for that because he's been doing so well with his weight I didntvwant that changing. Anyway my GP is usually lacking in sympathy but he was surprisingly brill! I suspect he's had a baby with those probs. He's put LO on ranitidine and said we should know fairly quickly if it's working and I can see a difference. Everyone says he'll grow out of it. Sometimes it's ridiculously hard, tiring work and I can't wait for a better sleeping baby but I feel bad wishing his life away.0

Morning
I think it's normal to wish for better sleep. Your whole health suffers if you don't get enough sleep.
Anyone up to anything this weekend? Taking my lot ten pin bowling later today and just pottering around at home catching up on jobs.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
hey all can i just pop in and ask you experts a quick question?
I have loads of huggies newborn nappies from various offers (mostly free of £1 a pack) . way way more than i will need. I have started exchanging for bigger sizes.
Would you be kind enough to give me a rough guide of how many of each size you used
my bump is quite large (i am 26 weeeks) the midwife has indicated it is measuring slighly large so i am not expecting the baby to be very small. DD1 was 8lb 1 oz when born but that was 9 years ago and no idea how many nappies i used.
Which sizes should i stock up on? my sister is also having a baby after me so she can have any spares
Thanks for your time:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart
Proven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

I think that's a "how long is a bit of string" type question!
Charlotte was classed as a big baby - born at 36 weeks weighing 7lb 3oz. However she's quite long and skinny. I found she stayed in nappies longer than the suggested weights on the packaging as she was so skinny. I seem to remember her being in size 3 for absolutely ages, and she'd just gone into 4+ when she started potty training at age 3!
I think how long they stay in the nappy sizes will depend on how chubby or skinny your baby is!Here I go again on my own....0 -
Morning,
Bowling sounds good Becles! I am doing some cleaning today and then we have a fun day on the canal lock i live by tomorrow, which should be fun.
Hi Jenjade - Poppy is a smallish one , weighed 7lb 5oz when born. I think we had size 1 for about 6 weeks, then size 2 for about two months. She has been in size 3 since she was about 3 1/2 months. If your LO is born big though you prob won't be in the size 1/2 for that long. As Becles said is also tricky if they are long as they will stay in smaller size longer. To start with me used a lot on nappies in a day, maybe approx 8 or more a day. This slowed down a little bit though.0
