Afternoon all - very late night for me but Miss M loves her babysitter very much and I was very reassured. She walked through the door and over goes Miss M for a hug  she's never done that with anyone before and it was very lovely to see. Husband was home earlier (he doesn't drink so doesn't like going out for drinks) and found the babysitter playing the piano and Miss M playing with her musical instrument set alongside her.

Felt a bit rough this morning, then Stinky Monkey climbed on me as I was on the sofa and launched herself butt-first into my stomach :( was not good at all. I did get a bit of bonus sleep though when Husband got up, but I'm thinking that being out past 11pm is probably better saved for when she's older and can get herself up because the tiredness is killing me. The problem will be nights like last night where I thought it was around 11pm and was about to go home and then I realised it was 2am and they were closing the bar :o

In other news, did really well with my Secret Sales voucher yesterday, after cashback etc I ended up spending 19p on a Christmas gift, a £77 skirt and some organza giftwrap :money:
Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

young ones and hangovers really don't mix, I had a glass of sparkling wine OH gave me (one xmas day) so 1 glass of wine and half a glass of cider was the only alcohol I drank in 2010 :D

Good news she liked the babysitter though!

going by the number of spots I have, more showed up overnight, I've got chickenpox. For the THIRD time! Will visit my GP monday to get confirmed, the out of ours doctor implied that either i 'just had spots' (in my hair, on my face and down my back?! really?!) or 'oh it could be chickenpox' silly moo. I did tell her I never get spots, my skin is more likely to be dry than greasy.

It's just started chucking it down, but we're having a lazy sunday before all the work starts on monday lol. We're sitting and watching Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, got to admit I enjoy it.

Toothache is improving thanks to the antibiotics, and the painkillers!

Afternoon all, I have a very cranky baby that doesn't want to nap for some reason this afternoon (oooo, I think he may have just gone silent while writing this!). Just got back from the next town over where we spent Finn's Christmas/birthday vouchers on a new big boy car seat and a few bath toys (the one thing he's been seriously lacking!), taking advantage of some pretty good sale offerings in Mothercare at the moment.

Need to go and peel onions for cheese & onion pie for dinner tonight, but totally CBA. Hope everyone's having a good Sunday!

SS glad the babysitter was ok, sounds really nice! And yes I imagine late nights and alcohol don't mix well having a baby, I couldn't imagine being able to cope!

Delain: chickenpox 3 times?! Wow! Glad toothache is improving. Sounds good about getting carpets cleaned, I'm hoping we move before T starts crawling as downstairs we have no carpets. Weirdly enough I have a carpet washer and steamer but can only use it upstairs (in a 2 bed house!) but it saves having to hire one, I was once quoted £120 for stairs, landing and 2 bedrooms carpets to be washed so I saved and bought my own, my family are also v grateful!

Smartie yay for better night! T slept from 10pm until 9am so it was lovely. Don't know how tonight will go as it looks like there's another tooth :( hurry up amber necklace!

Pleased you had a good night SS and that Miss M loved the babysitter.

Hope the spots and tooth gets better soon delain xx

Match was very tense. First half was really nailbiting but then they came out and scored near the beginning of the second half. Played rubbish for the rest of the second half but had 5 minutes injury time added on as their players kept falling about "injured" all the time. Scored in the last dying seconds of injury time. Didn't deserve to win, so it makes taking the point all that sweeter :D

Everyone was yelling and dancing around in the sitting room and even Jack joined in with a celebratory wooooooo noise :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

as you are a sainsburys fan Aless, just thought I'd say that the Eazy onions (as seen on Delia how to cheat) are better value than fresh onions, fried yourself. :)

    I hate peeling onions lol.

Smartie Yay for more sleep :D

Becles glad you enjoyed the football :) we are a fishing house, we like extreme fishing with Robson Green.

I asked a bus driver yesterday to tell me who was driving the school run shift on Monday, so I knew if I needed to take the twins with bikes myself I wouldn't get 'Oh you can't bring those!' and it's one of the nice ones so it'll be OK :rotfl:

    Hi everyone

I just wanted to introduce myself and share some concerns that I have in the hope that someone will be able to help.

I'm a recent graduate from the Pregnancy thread, my birth was quite traumatic and involved early waters breaking (37+4), 3 days of labour, induction, epidural, diamorphine, forceps - all things I really didn't want but couldn't avoid. Baby Sam is now 3 days old.

Since he was born I've really struggled with breastfeeding him, he finds it really hard to latch on and I can't get him into the right position. I've had help from several midwives and I know he can do it, but when he's tired or cranky he just won't. I gave in last night having not slept since Monday due to the labour and gave him a bottle, something I was intending to do later (mixed feeding so a bottle at night that OH could give him) but I was at the end of my tether and so was Sam - he then slept for 3 hours. This morning he latched on ok again but since then he's struggling again. I feel awful for giving up this early but I feel like my only option at the moment is to feed him formula as I'm so scared he's not getting any nutrition. I'm happy to express my own milk if that's the solution but I'm still only producing colostrum.

Another probem is that he will not sleep in his moses basket - as soon as I lift him off me or OH he starts fussing and crying - he's probably hungry but the above is not helping that. I have however just discovered that he will sleep on his side in his basket - well, he's sleeping at the moment anyway, who knows what will happen later! I think that he doesn't like back sleeping as he wriggles around too much, he also doesn't seem to like swaddling which I hoped would be the solution. Again, I know this is against all advice but if it means he'll sleep better (and I will) then any safe ways to try this would be appreciated.

I really need some help - I can feel the baby blues turning into depression at the situation already and I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance for any input.
