@LL - hope William is OK now. That must have been scary.
@CL - DD still hasn't really pooped on her own. I gave her a suppository on Saturday at 1pm and she pooped...I made the absolutely stupid mistake of doing it downstairs (on the the changing mat) but then loosely did up her nappy and carried her upstairs to find I had poo all down my jeans and much worse, poo on the carpet all the way up the stairsArgh! I feel like an idiot. She then did another 3 poos that day up till about 6pm. And now nothing since
She's not shown any signs of discomfort today though.
It's been an eventful day - some kid set fire to some trees opposite us. We were lucky to be in (usually at parents or in-laws) on a Sunday and so we were able to move OH's car. Unfortunately one of the cars owner wasn't home and it went up in flamesI feel sorry for the person when they found it.
Right I'm off to bed. Try and get a few hours sleep before DD wakes up again. Long gone are DDs 9 hours sleepsBaby Giz born 6/2/110 -
LL sounds scary, glad all ok we had a prob with t when about 6 weeks old as hv that was coming to see me thought t had laboured breathing so we went off in an ambulance and waited in a and e, is horrible experience just waiting around.
Will be going up north soon to see my new niece/nephew so can come and get t to bully your squeak pp, yes I love bedtime now too - 7:30/8 no squeaks till morn -lovely!!
I think we may need a new carseat as t is getting big and heavy for stage 1, any good deals at mo would be great too!
Hope you get some sleep giz and dd poops, awful what happen to cars - guess you were lucky re your car.
NN all we have swimming at 9 - not sure how we do it!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

PP what carseat did you go for? We would need to think about getting one soon.
THIS ONE .. so we can keep her rear facing forever and it is comfier than the tiny group 0 one she is crammed into at the moment.. it is suitable from birth up to about 6 so better for her than the baby one. Keeping her in the first car seat wasn't the best option in this case..If by bugs you mean nits then yes. We had almost 2 nit free years but our luck has now run out. Trouble is they like my hair as well so I'm forever having to do mine as well and it's past my shoulders and very thick... But I can't have it cut short I would look like a horse
Mine is thick and waist length and I NEVER get them!!!! Weird isn't it how they like some people and not others.. Moomin and Quaverface take it in turns to be walking.. drives me insane and very occasionally DD3 or DS3 will get them.. DS2 had them really bad a couple of weeks back.. number #2 sorted that!!! lolCharlotte hasn't picked up nits yet, but I spray her hair with tea tree oil before she goes to school. She's brought threadworms back and passed them on though, so we all had to have medicine.
The boys had nits before, but they just shaved their heads and it was me who had to faff on with nit lotion as I've also got long thick hair.
We've done threadworm several times too.. possibly because I don't fuss about them eating mud or bogies or anything equally gross.. .. it is good for their immune systems! lol I've not had those either.. only parasite I ever picked up has now been divorced
tea tree sets off psoraisis and eczema in here then I can't decide who is itchin due to bugs and who is itching due to reactions! can't win.. neem oil worked well I found but they just look greasy all the time!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
PP - Wow the price of that carseat! DH will be dropping LO to creche and I will be picking her up, so I was thinking that we would need a carseat for both cars and my Mum will be taking her one day a week, so we will need to get her a carseat. I definately can't afford 3 of those!0

Morning
That sounds scary with the cars Giz. Pleased you managed to move yours.
I think you need to think about car seats and how much use they will get. My Mam had one for Charlotte but she was mainly only in the car for 10 minutes between my parents house and ours, or a trip to nearby shops etc. A cheaper seat wasn't hugely comfortable but was fine for short journeys.
I've been doing mystery shops for a fictitious baby that is just growing out of a Stage 1 seat, and have seen some nice ones for around £60-£100.
Not sure if I am going to work or not this morning. I'm waiting on some paperwork being emailed. If it arrives early on, I'll pop out and make a start on the calls. If not, I've got plenty work to do from home to keep me busy.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Thanks Becles. Do you want to give us of names a few of the good ones you have seen?
It's lashing down here and gale force winds! Was planning a walk with LO and a friend, but might give it a miss.0 -

But it is the best we can afford and the safest for the baby.. best part is.. I'll need a second one for the baby in a years time.. I am thinking of getting it now tbh so they are the same! We do loads of motorway driving and the thought of what might happen to my babys head in a collision at 90mph doesn't bear thinking about.:eek::eek::eek:... they do this.... :rotfl: So we are keeping her rear facing until she is about 4 at least.. longer if we can!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
morning. She slept till 5am
I'm happy. Then I got to go back to sleep till 8:30am. I was meant to be going swimming (on my own for exercise) but I just cannot be bothered so I'm staying in and watching True Blood instead.
I've just sent my email to work asking for the 3 day week using 2 days holiday a week for 11 weeksVery nervous about the reply. Wish me luck.
Interesting talk about car seats. On the natural parenting forum I used to visit it comes up a lot about using rear facing seats for as long as possible. It's something I need to think about.
I need to buy a birthday present for a 2 year old girl. Any ideas? She seems to like 3rd and Bird and Peppa Pig. But sadly the 3rd and bird toys seems to be for 3yrs up. And there's so much to choose from for peppa pig. Any other ideas? She seems to love books too. I didn't want to give money as I done that for Christmas and Birthdays so far and I'd just like to get a present this time. Will include receipt so they can return it if she's already got it.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I always buy kids books, wherever possible. There are some nice 3rd and Bird books (toddler type board books) in WHsmith, and I'm sure they are on 3 for 2 at the moment. Also whenever you buy something in there you tend to get a voucher for one thing or another and they are sometimes surprisingly good value.
PP I wish the nits didn't like me so much! At the moment we're using tea tree and mint shampoo and extra tea tree oil, but I think I'll have to get some more industrial nit stuff today. Becles I used to put Aussie hair insurance on my lot but if you use it for more than 2 days it makes the hair look dull and greasy.
Squeak was up a couple of times last night, I'm not sure why
I'm lucky we don't even have a car on the road at the moment so the car seat issue isn't raising it's ugly head just yet :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Morning
We had a little bit of progress with Elliot at the end of last week-he decided he wanted his nappy off and to sit on his potty. To my suprise he did a wee
We had 2 puddles on the floor, but then he did another wee on the potty. The following morning he asked for the potty, and did a wee in it. A bit later on-he tried to do a poo in the potty, it was only a teeny one but he was pleased all the same. We've had nothing since then though, i'm trying not to force him to do anything he doesn't want to yet. I'm planning on plenty more nappy free time this week, and see what happens.
He seems to be interested some times, then other times he wants a nappy back on. I'm assuming he's not quite ready yet still? But it's good he's showing more interest.
