I did the tax credits thing yesterday and liked the results (but I'm not hopefully that it was correct!).
I found they always underestimate what we are entitled to.. one time we got £80 more than they estimated online.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Afternoon to all
I was just wondering if anyone knew where I can buy tie neck bibs for my daughter. I already have some but after much use and washing, they are most definitely not white anymore. THe other ones I have fasten with velcro at the back and she just pulls them off within minutes of putting them on. I've tried Boots, Mothercare and Babies R Us but to no avail.
Regards

I got some with press studs from tesco.. might they be better? you could always add a couple of press studs through the velcro if they workLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

So sorry to hear about your rabbit Giz.
I know how you feel. Suzy my collie went a bit down hill in her health over her last year, but she was old and I just put it down to age. At the time I had all the pregnancy complications with Charlotte, then dealing with a new born. Suzy developed an eye problem and needed an operation on her eye, but when they ran routine tests to find out if she was well enough for the operation, they discovered a large tumour in her liver. They said she was suffering with it although she was a tough old thing and not really showing it, so I decided it was kinder to let her go.
I felt so guilty about it, but looking back there was no obvious signs that she was so ill - she was just a bit slower and a bit less lively but you would expect that to happen with an old dog. Still gets to me now. Got dust in my eyes typing this
I'm sure you didn't let Twiggy suffer deliberately and I'm sure she was well looked after and had a beautiful life. I bet she's thankful that you gave her all the love that you did.
Take care of yourself xx
Hope you have a lovely holiday Merfe xx
I tried the tax credit calculator and I think we're going to be about £20 a week worse offHere I go again on my own....0 -
haven't managed to get on much the last few days.
Big hugs to Susan.
I'm not really broody either. Let's get this one sleeping through before we even think about another! L is super cute and lovely at the moment but running me ragged at night. not sure if he's teething, windy or what. But sure we'll get there.
MV - you can always come and meet me and sir monster for coffee one day, we're not far away and we have a very friendly starbucks!
My dad is coming down today for a couple of days, though staying in the travelodge. He can be quite hard work but am looking forward to seeing him. Feel like we're living in such a mess at the moment, can't afford a cleaner but do need to do some tidying. At least L is happy playing in his playnest now so I can get a bit more done!
rach I'd love to come and meet you and Sir M for a coffeethank you
Giz - so sorry to hear about your rabbitit doesn't matter what the pet, they become so much a part of the family. I'd be heartbroken if anything happened to our cats.
Sigh..Josh has managed to scratch the top of his head to bits. We are trying to keep his nails short, but he still scratches himself. I have him in scratch mitts most of the time (which I wish I didn't have to) for this very reason.
He was swaddled too (he sleeps much better in a swaddle) but still managed to fight his way out and scratch his head! I'm taking him in to my office tomorrow to see everyone..they'll think he's a battered child!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Sorry for you losses Susan and Giz - I hope its not bad form to speak of a rabbit and a baby in the same way.
Re passport photos, we did ours at home too, but a friend used Snappysnaps who put the baby on a sheet on the floor and photographed from above.
Well, we have booked a last minute holiday for 3 weeks time when LO will be just 3 months old, but now I'm panicking about it being too hot. Can anyone recommend a gentle sunscreen for babies. We aren't even using baby products yet, so I'm worried about putting chemicals on her skin.
Rach, if there's a local meet up I'd love to join too.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
You'll be fine! Any baby sun cream will be ok. I've used Tesco and Boots own brand ones and they did the job. It's a lot thicker than normal sun creams and tends to sit like a layer on their skin so you can check if you missed bits.
Get a parasol for the pushchair and a big floppy hat too. Does she drink water yet? It might be wise trying her with water in the run up just to keep her hydrated while you're away.
Where are you going? Here I go again on my own....0 -
A sun hat is on the shopping list - could have done with one for her in the park here today!
The only time we've given her water was when she hadn't pooed for 8 days. She took it fine and it did the trick too.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Evening ladies!
Mit3 - are you a South Londoner too?? Cool if you are, we can all meet up!
Josh is 3 months old tomorrow! Can't believe how time is flying! I bought him some Johnsons baby suncream today as we are going to Bristol this w/e to visit my sister, and apparently she and hubs are planning on doing a BBQ. Judging by the weather the last couple of days, suncream is a must! I bought Josh a sunhat today too..he looks so cute in it!
It's my birthday on Sunday..I'm going to be 38! I've warned OH that we're prob going to have to start trying again towards the end of next year if we want another bub...am I mad??Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
(((Hugs))) Susan x
(((Hugs))) Giz x
Merfe - I hope you have a nice relaxing time
MV - I hate the scratching too! Esme has got such sharp nails so I'm forever putting her oven (scratch) mitts on - and she hates it and pulls them off
Thanks for the info on photos. I shall add it to my never ending list of things to do when I get a chance!
Uh, if there's a London meet - don't be missing me out
MI3 - that's great that you have booked your hols. My DD will be about 3 months when we go, so will be interesting to see how you find it. I'm itching to book the flights - but can't as I need to get her passport sorted first! Did you book a sky cot for the plane - how would I do this?
DD is fast asleep in her moses basket and hasn't fought her way out of her swaddle yet. She normally stays put in it, but she wasn't having any of it last night!! I'm off to bed after EastEnders to try and get some shut eye before she wakes up.0
