Unbelievably I am working full time this week from Tuesday. Firstly I have to go to Fracture Clinic to see what they are proposing to do with my still painful hand.

The mess is getting me down. The big kids just seem to be unaware of it. Each of them have the majority of the kitchen cups and glasses in their bedrooms. There is mountains of washing to do and the school bits still aren't ironed and they go back on Tuesday.

BIG hugs Mumto5. What you need to do now is have a screaming abdabs fit - however difficult a concept that may seem to you.

You tell them NO more drinks until all the spare crockery lying around their bedrooms is down, in the kitchen, washed up and then dried properly and put away.

THEN you ask them (in a weepy sort of voice) could they suggest how you can organise the washing given your arm injury and what's the best way for you to single-handedly iron their uniforms?

If they don't come up with a reasonable answer, then you just take to your bed and allow yourself time to heal. Ignoring any knocks on the bedroom door and the cries of "I'm hungry, what's for dinner".

Tough love is what's required right now methinks xxx

    Happy New Year!!

Well, I'm in again, thanks to Pigpen and Toots and all at FL HQ!
I really need a big kick up the jacksy to get me motivated again. Was good for a while and then started a new job which meant I had much less time on my hands and I cba using it cleaning. I am off til wed this week so want to get a good handle on the mess before everything starts again.
I am aiming to do level 1 this week and possibly level 2 if I like what's on the list :P, working up to level 2 next week and 3 the week after. Well that's the plan anyway...

Good luck to all the other newbies and old hands returning. Lets all support each other and hope we stay motivated.

    It's only a game

Shred it and put it in a chili? When in the US, you'll find shredded, cooked meat rather than mince. I think Heston Blumenthal did a similar thing when he was making chili.

    Evening all,

    Thanks to FCC.

I need to sort out this tip of a house and i didn't achieve the ironing challenge either. You should see my ironing pile . I've menu planned for the month and done an online shop as well so it's not all bad.

Hopefully i'll be raring to go in the morning.

  • Whoa! That did run fast!

Kaz - headaches, I think? I swear [lots but not in this context :)] by a chilled facemask thingy from IKEA that lives in the fridge for such occasions. It never gets worn properly, but I press it against the painful bit *usually a sinus, the back of my neck and above my right ear* and squidge it around as I chase the pain about - like you chase an itch over your back when you get someone else to scratch it for you :D. If I had sense, I'd have two packs in the fridge, as it is amazing how quick the mask gets warm - but it works better and quicker than any drug.

Kitchen all sparkly, so just a bit of getting ready for the darn laminate laying this week!

Amazingly downstairs looks mostly OK, 2 of the 3 childrens bedrooms are fairly tidy and the bathroom is pretty good too! That just leaves clutter-central (my bedroom, where everything is dumped) and DS's bedroom which needs a jolly good seeing to!

Will make a paper copy of today's list and see if I can start the week well! My pan cupboard needs a good scrubbing....:D

I'm in, not managed much today, still recovering from this blooming virus which now DD2 and hubby has.

I went shopping (food) for 2 hours this afternoon and wiped myself out.

Huge thanks to Piggers and Toots in various disguises plus the original and the best of course.:D

Special hi and big wave to all new folks and welcome returners..:hello:

Hope all the poorlies get well soon and for those feeling down, have a hug :grouphug:
